796579 tn?1266432024 Like all pain medications, the issue of how much medication to use and how long to use it during pregnancy is a judgment between the risks and benefits for both the mother and the baby. Although there are risks associated with subutex (buprenorphine) use, continued use may still be the right course for certain women. This requires an open discussion between you and your Obstetrician or Perinatologist.
Avatar n tn ve been losing sleep thinking for weeks about the idea of either myself or the baby dying during delivery .. I have very good doctors and an amazing hospital but I'm anemic I tend to lose a lot of blood when I do bleed. I'm horrible with any pain .. I don't think my body can handle it! And people keep telling me about how I'll tear ? Which worries me I'll bleed more. It's making me so worried .. Does it occur often ??
Avatar f tn I know this is a very extremely personal question for a lot of us moms, but I have to ask if any of you moms pooped during delivery? I know this exists--that it does happen and that it's exactly how you should push. If so, what was the experience like and was epidural helpful to push your little one out? And if not, what did you do prior to being transported to the hospital?
Avatar f tn You and the baby will need to be monitored very carefully while you are on medications and during flare. Usually the second and third trimester is easy as flares usually affect the first trimester and the period after delivery. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn s still only certain ones they can give you during delivery. I went in on my own around 3AM, water was broken around 1PM, had a half dose of morphine (the only option I was familiar with that I knew wouldn't cause me to get sick) around 330-4PM and the worst part for me was when I hit about 8/9cm roughly around 1030pm and my body told me time to push but my cervix wasn't fully ready so they kept having me breathe through it and flip side to side.
Avatar n tn How long before the delivery would a woman have to stop using Tramadol that it would not show up in the baby's system?

Avatar n tn Patients can NOT and should NEVER change medications or dosages, or resume old medications without the PRIOR approval and consent of their physician. Doing so endangers the patients relationship and on going treatment with their current physician and can ruin chances of finding another willing to treat. Converting oral meds to an entirely different delivery system- as in this case is tricky. Oral meds are absorbed in the stomach and intestines and distributed through the blood stream.
Avatar f tn Local anesthesia may be used by your health care provider during delivery to numb a painful area in or around the vagina if stitches are needed. Local medications do not reduce discomfort during labor. Regional anesthesia (also called an epidural or spinal anesthesia) is administered by an anesthesiologist (a doctor who delivers pain medicine) during labor to reduce discomfort.

Some women have very high levels of glucose in their blood, and their bodies are unable to produce enough insulin to transport all of the glucose into their cells, resulting in progressively rising levels of glucose. 2036568 tn?1330482758 My water broke with the one pregnancy at 24 weeks and my son died shortly after being delivered. Then the next pregnancy my water broke at 20 weeks and he died before delivery. I have an incompetent cervix. So with this pregnancy I had a cervical cerclage placed at 13 weeks. (a stitch to hold the cervix shut) I am a nervous wreck though. I have actually developed a phobia of the hospital and the labor and delivery floor. I will have panic attacks just thinking about it!

Avatar n tn I had my cardiologist send my OB reccomendations of what to do during my labor and delivery. When I went into labor, all the medications were ready and waiting in case they needed anything. I was monitored during the entire labor. My cardiologist suggested that I have an epidural very early in my labor, which I did, so that the prolonged pain of labor didnt worsen my arrhythmias. This plan worked very well for me and I did not have any issues throughout the entire labor and delivery.
Avatar f tn Has anyone received nitrous (laughing gas) during labor, how did you like it? I'm wanting to do that instead of an epidural.
Avatar f tn If you are having an outbreak you will need a C section or there is a serious chance it can be passed on to your child. The best thing to do is to contact your doctor and tell him about it, your fears and concerns and he will tell you the best thing that you should do.
Avatar f tn I tore with my last delivery.. I don't know what it feels like to not tear since I've only had one delivery so far, but I wasn't horrible sore after. And recovery was easy! I think the thought of tearing is worse then actually tearing.
Avatar f tn My first pregnancy I was worried until towards the end but I kept saying she got in there she has to come out some how lol. You will be suprised what your body can handle during labor and delivery.
