Avatar n tn I have almost the same problem..I figured it was anxiety base. I will be fine and not have to pee and I would get really anxious and sometimes I won't be able to hold it and will pee my pants if I don't get to a toilet fast enough. It's been happening for awhile now. And I am only 23 years old. The anxiety I've been having isn't extreme.
Avatar n tn and i can be normal for a couple of hours and then possibly in the afternoon - more urgency... and then can be calm or not for the evening... 378497 tn?1232143585 40, lol) who has had kids) A high spinal cord lesion (above T6) can cause a person to demonstrate symptoms of urinary frequency, urgency, and urge incontinence but will be unable to empty his or her bladder completely. This occurs because the urinary bladder and the sphincter are both overactive, a condition termed detrusor sphincter dyssynergia with detrusor hyperreflexia (DSD-DH). Avatar f tn Hi Mo, it's good to see you here. The unfortunate news is bladder/bowel problems are very common with MS. In fact it is up at the top of the symtoms list. What you need to do is arrange an appointment with a good urologist - preferable a urogynecologist who can handle all these problems in one office.
Avatar n tn I have always had some degree of bladder and bowel urgency (IBS too). Bladder is worse when standing or walking. Sometimes when I get the sudden urge I have to cross my legs and squeeze to keep from having an accident. Perhaps this is unrelated, but when I was last pregnant about 1 yr ago I had painful bladder contractions after each urination. Any ideas? Are things just going to go downhill--destined for paper pants? Anyone else suffering like this?
Avatar f tn However, about a month and a half ago, I started having very severe urinary frequency and urgency. I had no pain or burning during urination. However, I tested positive for a urinary tract infection and began on pyridium and bactrim. My symptoms did not improve so I began on Levaquin for 10 days. Since then I have had an ultrasound of my kidneys, ovaries, and bladder, and everything was normal. My labwork was also normal.
Avatar n tn interstitial cystitis, medicines such as diuretics, Overactive bladder syndrome and urinary incontinence It is important that you follow the therapy recommended by your doctor to treat the underlying cause of your urinary frequency or urgency. Before taking any medications, you have to consult with your doctor first. It may also help to keep a diary of times and amounts of urine voided to bring with you to the doctor. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I have a feeling of irratation in my bladder and an urgency to pee every 30 minutes or so. I went to the clinic and a urine sample was tested. They said there was no bacteria in my urine but there was a trace amount of blood in my urine (I did not visually detect blood in my urine). I was prescribed a 5 day dose Supra twice daily and to drink 12 glasses of water a day. I am on day 5 and I still have a feeling of urgency to pee.
Avatar n tn Sounds like a urinary tract infection or a bladder infection. "Urgency" is a common side-effect of both of those. Urgency is when you feel like you REALLY have to urinate, but then either nothing comes out, or it comes out slowly with little force. The salty taste in your mouth probably is not a related symptom of the UTI/bladder infection (if that's what it truly is).
Avatar n tn i have been diagonised left renal calculi+ and fatty liver.i also have gallbladder sludge.but i feel pain inthe upper part of the stomach(rightside)and also back pain inthe right lower side.
Avatar n tn The presence of urinary symptoms may require further evaluation of the urinary tract. Urgency and decrease urine flow may suggest an infection or an obstruction. A urinalysis, urine culture, kidney, ureter and bladder scans may help rule out an infection or urinary tract stones. Kidney stones leading to kidney infections may lead to fever, nausea and vomiting. I suggest you seek immediate consult since you may need oral medications. Do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I had an endoscopy two weeks ago and the GI Dr found severe inflammation in my esophagus and stomach and short segment Barrett's. I was prescribed Pantoprazole and in the last few days I have developed bladder pain and urgency. No burning during urination. I know this is not a UTI because I've had several in my life. The only time this kind of pain has happened is when I've been on another med that had this side effect. I'm also so very tired and weak.
876583 tn?1339127652 Hi there, I'm a 22 year old female and over the past 5 months I've noticed an increase in the number of times I feel the need to urinate throughout the day. When I'm at home it's never a problem but when I am in public or especially on a road trip, a sense of urgency kicks in which leads to stress and discomfort; I become afraid that there won't be a bathroom and that I won't make it in time.
Avatar n tn Now when this problem is my major concern I recalled that my ex-wife also has this exact problem too but for some reason this was never discussed. And I know that this urgency started right at the time when I was living with her. Unfortunately we do not keep contact so it is not possible for me to talk to her about this. I am not even sure if this has anything to do with it. Urinalysis and the cystoscopy would find any possible UTI and they did not. Plus I do not have any pain or burning.
Avatar m tn I did a voiding rate test during that time (pee into cup device and measure flow) and it looked ok. The whole time my voiding seemed slower and with less volume in my own opinion. I ended up seeing a 3rd urologist due to a move. He was shocked that I hadn't had more tests. He first did a cyctoscopy (camera into bladder by way of catheter). He said he could see that the pelvic floor seemed tight, but I was free from lesions or other stuff.
Avatar f tn It is a primarily female syndrome in which women suffer from irritative bladder symptoms (urinary frequency, urgency, burning , and a hesitant or slowed urinary stream) in the absence of any objective urologic findings. In this the diagnosis can be made only by the proper collections of urine specimens from both the urethra and the bladder. These specimens will reveal the presence of white blood cells in the urethral washings, while the midstream (bladder) specimen will be free of cells.
Avatar m tn 32 year old healthy male. Have had on and off urinary frequency for about 7 or 8 years now. Been to 3 different urologists, none wanted to get invasive bc no infection, DRE showed OK, no blood...basically no signs of anything wrong. But I made these appointments for a reason. The urge frequency was sometimes unbearable!! Anyhow started on Flomax, and in just one day noticed the frequency (6-8x day to 4x) and urgency diminished. If no BPH...how is the Flomax working??? Thanks!
1029680 tn?1286919361 diet management), physical therapy (Kegel’s exercise-pelvic floor muscle strengthening, electrical stimulation) and certain medications can be recommended by your treating doctor to get some relief from your symptoms. Sometimes surgery can also be recommended when conservative treatment doesn’t work in the situation. Hope this helps.
641819 tn?1240325930 I suffer from periodic urge incontinence and it's back again. I'm leaning on the neuro side of causative factors because of the 'come and go' nature of it and also because I have a ton of other neuro things such as periodic gait problems, issues with nerves (buzzing/tingling/burning), trigeminal neuralgia and other things. I have been diagnosed with fibro (with all the assorted goodies that brings) and have been worked up for MS (negative).
Avatar f tn Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that the urinary frequency and urgency could be a sign of a urinary tract infection and I would want to get a urine culture and urinalysis. If you don't have a UTI, I would want to rule out elevated blood sugars as a cause. If you sugars are good, then next thing to do would be to try some of the medications for overactive bladder, such as Toviaz. These can sometimes be quite helpful. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I have never had any kind of urinary issues before and I am not sure what to think right now!! Starting for or 5 days ago I began having to urinate much more frequently. The past two nights I have been up half the night going to the bathroom. No accidental expelling of urine or pain/burning but very uncomfortable constant urge. Within 5 minutes of going to the bathroom I have the urge to go again!!
Avatar n tn ve noticed over the last several weeks an occasional mild burning sensation after urination, and also occasional feelings of urgency. In other words, I would pee, and then a few moments later, feel another strong urge to pee again, but only a little would come out. Could this be a pre-kidney stone situation? I don't see how it could be STD-related and there are no external symptoms. I don't have insurance right now so trying to avoid the doctor. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I suggest that a urinalysis be done just to ascertain the absence or presence of urinary tract infection. A lower urinary tract infection may also be present. Drink plenty of water and wash the area after sexual activity. Use a mild cleanser like Cetaphil and keep the area dry and clean. Abstain from sexual activity until this has been thoroughly assessed.
Avatar m tn Larger cysts can definitely cause urinary urgency. Urgency in itself doesn't necessarily signal an infection, though it can be a symptom of one if it's accompanied by burning pee, fever or other symptoms.
Avatar f tn Sorry to read of your problems. I would think that the doctors would repair the bladder, uterus and rectal prolapse during the surgery. Prolapse of the urinary bladder, Cystocele, can cause urinary retention, frequent UTI's, urgency and frequency, and in some cases obstructive voiding resulting in reflux to the kidneys that may damage them. These issues can be evaluated with testing, Urodynamics / Cystometrics.
