Common Questions and Answers about Medela breast milk storage magnet
milk
Can you use different brands for breast feeding accessories for example if you have a medela pump can you use regular bottles and milkstorage bags? or does everything have to be medela? thanks in advance foe your responses!
I'm trying to choose the best breast pump and milk storage system I can find. I travel extensively for work and I'll even be pumping in the car. I found the Kiinde system; which looks awesome. But, I'm not sure what I will be able to express from each breast at each pumping session. Ideally, I would like to pump directly into the storage bag, freeze it, thaw it, and feed directly from the bag. That is how the Kiinde system is intended to be used.
I read a lot of reviews about it and most people seem to buy and prefer medela. I also bought a pack of 12 milkstorage bottles of medela which together was about 65.00 @ target not bad for me thought it would be more.
you can store it in the fridge for 2-3 days just make sure you date the milk also it can go in the freezer i think for upto 6 months and it is good to use the breastmilk storage bags so you can date them also and then you can take them straight from the freezer and put the bag in the baby bottle warmer. when you buy the breast pump there should be a little book about breast feeding and everything that comes with it.
I bought a Lansinoh Affinity, and in my opinion it's just as good as the medela. I never used a Medela, but I LOVE mine. It has all the same features as a the Medela from what I've heard. It has a letdown setting that starts off with a fast short s*ck phase that lasts two minutes, and a button to put it right to the regualr pumping phase, there's I think 6 or 7 levels of how hard it s*cks, and another 6 or 7 for how fast.
so ive got a breast pump just in case but i was wondering if breastmilk can go in the firdge and get warmed up when its needed and if it can go in the fridge how long can it stay in there for.
I called my insurance company and they use cvs Caremark. They transferred the call to them and within a week my double electric pump with 150 milkstorage bags was at my door. My insurance will send me 150 bags every 90 days also.
s have to work for the milk when nursing and bottle feeding is no work and they get frustrated n refuse breast if u start too early. However, I did start pumping after 2 weeks to help my milk supply increase. I just waited after 30 days to introduce bottle.
if you get a pump kit new... can you just buy a used breast pump like the medela one? If you get the kit is that the only part that needs to be steril? and the rest is just the motorized equipment? want to buy the kit of the medela in style which is 46$ and get the pump on ebay what do you think?
How hard can it be for steams bags, breast milkstorage bags, and a medela starter kit n a car seat??!?!! Would just appreciate some cooperation seeing that drs don't expect me to carry to 36 weeks n I'll b 26 Monday.
You will need bottles so u can Feed your baby the pumped milk. Freezer storage bags made for breastmilk to store it in (dont forget to write the date on the outside of the bag. You will need a nursing bra and pads. Lanolin cream to sooth the nipples and possibly a breast feeding cover if you plan to breast feed in front of people. Also a nipple shield just in case baby has trouble latching.
I have one of the pump in style designs as well (NO idea which, I cant find it online at all) but it comes with a manual, storage and freezer part, bottles for milk, 6 different horns and is a double electric. It worked really well.
It is a plastic piece that goes over your breast and it I guess shapes your nipple to let milk out better. I never had a problem with my medela and milk never got stuck in the tubes but everyone is different. Multiple people have borrowed my pump because I loved it so much.
Ftm I'm 35 Weeks and I plan on breastfeeding but I unfortunately have nothing for breastfeeding. Not even a breast pump:( I don't have money for that!! But I was wondering what you all recommend and what you all needed or wish you had when bread feeding so I can hopefully go get all of this before he gets here in the next few weeks!!
