maxalt mlt 10 mg side effects

HI, my husband just moved to India for a month and has forgotten his prescription medication in America (Maxalt MLT) Is there anyone who would know what the Indian version of Maxalt MLT would be? I am currently posting from america. I could have it shipped but the cost and everything would take too long.

I saw the doctor for the first appt and she put me on Zonisamide as a migraine preventative and Maxalt-MLT 10 mg as a rescue medication as well as ordering some labs, an MRI and an MRA. All tests came back normal. The Maxalt worked well when I got the migraines but insurance wasn't too happy with it so we had to switch. She then put me on Relpax which didn't work at all. The Zonisamide gave me some pretty intense heart palpitations so I was switched to Topomax.

The first time I took Maxalt-Mlt it made me a bit dizzy. Also my nose and fingers got very cold. However I didn't experience vomiting so I would call your doctor asap about that. Another thing, you can only take two of those within a 24 hour period. If the first one didn't work, wait two hours then take another. Pls call your doctor regarding this. Keep us updated pls.

Thought I was getting another MRI but got axial ct scan w/o contrast,. Haven't gotten the results yet. Dunno how to read it but seems normal to me. If anyone knows how to read it or make sense of it, please let me know. They just had me on so many strong meds with side effects. I had to try something on my own. I'm currently trying to get pregnant and there are no studies on effects to the baby. Will keep you posted.

I am not on Coumadin 5mg a day, and i have to go every week for my PR-INR. I also have horrable migraine headaches all the time. I am currently taking Maxalt-MLT for the migraines, the only way that i can take the medication is if i take it and go to sleep. Most of the time i will wake up for with a headaches that is worse then the one that i had when i went to bed. I just don't know why my headaches are worse now then what they were before.

does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.

If you get a triptan that is in a pill form it can take a long time to work... so, that is not so good for SS. That is why you need to get a triptan in either a nasal spray or a quick dissolve tablet, such as zomig nasal spray or imitrex nasal spray or maxalt quick dissolve tablets. There is also a injection that would be fast acting too...

Hey there, Maxalt shouldn't cause rebound headaches, BUT it is true that you can only take 2 doses every 24 hours. So, never take more than two doses in 24 hours and never take more then 2 doses for the SAME migraine. OTC medications such as Ibuprofen (advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) are much more likely to cause rebound headaches than triptans such as Maxalt.

Side effects of Maxalt is pressure in your chest & throat. I did ok the times I've only needed it once. But, today I had to take it twice. After that second dose...omg, the pressure is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I honestly think it is worse than a migraine. There are no words to describe it. You can't breathe & you can barely swallow just your saliva! I'm wondering if it is side effects that get better the more you take it? And if it does...

Pharmacy medication that may help include triptiphans such as a brand named Maxalt MLT. The MLT is a melt version that disintegrates on the tongue and gets in the system faster. What may also help is a drug called Zofran it is also available in melt version and gets in the system fast. The Zofran will help with nausea and sometimes if taken quickly may even abort the migraine without Maxalt.

My Neurologist, after two whole years, finally placed me on medication for the headaches. I currently take Maxalt 10 mg), Nortriptyline (75 mg) and Compazine (10 mg). I am hoping that they work, I took one the other day during a Migraine attack, and within an hour it was gone.

Most medications can cause rebound headaches. If your migraines are only occassional, ask your Neurologist if you can try Maxalt MLT 10mg. It's fast acting but you will need to observe a strict protocol for usage to prevent rebound headaches. Have you been able to ID your triggers?

has recently prescribed me 10mg of Celexa for anxiety which has once again sprung up out of nowhere after 2 years anxiety free. I was reading the side effects (the possibility of not breathing, palpatations etc). I'm just wondering how likely side effects are on such a small dose? Many thanks!

I have had migraines since i was 15, I am now 37, about 10 years ago my daughters pediatrician at the time finally reccomended I see a neurologist from that point on I have tried and retried every migraine medication they make it seems. I am on Inderal, Topamax, Skelaxin, Maxalt Mlt plus the narcotics that are still sometimes needed from time to time.

m taking the Topamax to try to prevent them. The side effects are already killing me, at 75 mg. It worries me bc today my dr. said I may need to go up to 150 mg. to control them. I don't think my body can handle that! Is this med you've taken for migraines?

It has been the only antidepressant that I have found to be successful without side effects. I also take lithium (it helps with the migraines), and that is sort of an antidepressant but not really. As for triptans, my regular triptan is Zomig Nasal Spray. On average, I use Zomig Nasal Spray every other day. But, there are times where I will go 3 or 4 days without needing to use it. And there are also times where I will use it every day for sometimes up to a week.

Ed, Thanks so much for your response. So am I to understand that my computer, printer, Satellite, etc. in my office would probably not be affecting my migraines. I spend a lot of time there at home. I had not heard that the Botox could stop working. I have to wait for my next appointment to find out about it. I was pleased with the Botox working very well for me for the past 2 years however, so it may still be an option for your wife.

I currently use zomig nasal spray. I give it two thumbs up! In the past I have also used Maxalt (the dissolving kind) and Axert. I like zomig. The taste of the nasal spray isn't great (okay, it's TERRIBLE), but it works better than the tablets (in my personal experience and also this is true in terms of the chemical interaction of the medication in the various forms as they've found via scientific trials...

It would help knowing exactly what you have tried so that I could suggest medications that you have not tried. Also, how many migraines do you get per month? Yes, most migraine medications do work well for most people. But, not everyone has the same success with all medications. For acute treatment of migraine headaches, first line treatment is triptans.

s say you mean you were told to take 2x 5mg in the morning and 5 mg at lunch OR 2x 10 mg in the morning and 5 mg at lunch, either way I bet you'll feel weak or irritable by late afternoon, so I would try what the doctor said first.

Have you noticed any side effects on Clonazepam or Lexapro? I am on 10 mg of Lexapro for a while now and added 1 mg of Clonazepam 2 monts ago. I noticed that I get twitches in my fingers and sometimes my fingers shake a little. Does this familiar to anyone?
