I have been on pills for 3 years off an on. I had some dental work done one procedure right after the other and started taking vicodin for the pain. I also had braces and my doc gave me vicodin for the pain also. I didn't think anything about it. I just took one when it hurt. I also have insomnia and it helped me sleep so I would take it to sleep to.
the 750 mg. is APAP (tylenol) ,the amount of narcotic is probably 7.5 mg. , the recomended max. dose of tylenol is 4 grams or 4000 mg. per 24hrs. alot of doctors cut that down to 2000 mg. for daily drinkers. Because tylenol can be very damaging to the liver.
The FDA is now suggesting to manufacuer's to limit the amount of tylenol to 325 mg. per pill.

I took more than I should have but never more than 2.8 grams of acetomeniphen in a single day. I did this for 7 days. 2-2.5 grams most days. I became worried that I might have damaged my liver. At 96 hours give or take I had ALT level of 96 and AST of 48. Bilirubin was only midly elevated at 1.3. I tend to run a little high on these after my gallbladder was removed. Now 120 hours post exposure. No jaundice that I can tell.
I have been taking vicodon 10m/500mg for over 2 years and i started with about 1 or 2 500s a day now i take 8 1000's a day. i want to stop, but i have legit pain. this is day one and I'm wondering how long the restless legs, and not being able to sleep last. I have xanax, but all that seems to be doing is making me not want to do anything. any suggetions on how to ease this pain?
However i sometimes take up to 2,500 mg of acetaminophen at once. Now i always year people say the max apap dosage is 4,000 mg per day. But nobody says what the body can handle at one time. So basically what i'm wondering is.... Does anybody think its possible that i've damaged my liver beyond repair??
I never take more than two of the pills in a day, which is 1000mg APAP. I also skip days, say two days on, then one or two off. It's harder on my sleep on the off days, but I really don't want my system to get totally used to the narcotic and, the biggest thing, I'm afraid of the effects of the acetaminophen on my liver. I guess reading about it on the Internet has made me totally paranoid. I also sometimes drink on Saturdays.
I am not good at keeping track b/c the scripts are only for 15 days while most are for a month, but anyway. I have some 5mg vicodin - can I take those to get me through until I can fill the script for the Percocet? If so, how much should I take?
I realize this is a rather more conservative question than some, but I had one bad experience a couple of months ago when I ran out and I didn't take anything. I don't want to go through that again.
Took last vicodin on Saturday, feel pretty crappy right now, stomach is a mess, hot flashes, sweaty, chills, like the flu. Could sleep for about a week. I have been taking 1-3 pretty much daily for about 2 years now, this is the longest I've gone without taking any. Hoping a migraine doesn't creep up on me.
Day one is coming to an end. Ive tried this before and relapsed for a few months. Now Im doing it again. I took 5 days off of my work, just to withdrawal. Hopefully that will help. I GOT THIS! I dont even enjoy it anymore. It used to be fun, Now ive realized this is just a huge burden. No more 10 vics a day. No more..... im done. withdrawals havent been to bad today. Body hurts, EXTREME mental anguish though. ughhh. When are withdrawals at their worst??? I want to know what im in for here.
Finally, a rule of thumb is to NEVER take OTC products that contain Tylenol while taking Vicodin or Percocet as you are ADDING in more tylenol that needs to totaled and added to the amount consumed through the Vicodin or Percocet. It is important to read the labels on OTC cold and cough medicines to understand how much Acetaminophen (or Tylenol) is in the product.
s I have been taking some small doses of vicodin for the last 7 days to keep myself from going completely off the deep end although there have been many many times where I thought I was going to absolutly lose it, I have been through this once before my main issue with detox is anxiety is by far is my worst symptom I can deal with the lack of sleep, and all the other terrible symptoms but the anxiety makes me crazy, if I only take smal doses of vicodin for the first 10-12 days (max 3 5mg pills)
I saw my pain doctor on the 28th. She wrote me my normal script for Vicodin but gave me some extra to get through the Thanksgiving holiday. I normally see her once a month but Thanksgiving falls on our month date so she wrong me a script to last a month and a half (135 pills). But the confusing part is, it's written to take 1 every 4 hours as needed. I wake up early around 6 and go to bed around 10. So if I'm taking the max dose, which I am, than that puts me at 5 a day.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I'm on day 6 with no vicodin. I tried the half a pill thing and it didn't do anything but make me not as miserable. I still had all the w/d symptoms, just not as intense, so I figured I might as well just get it over with. I focused on the fact that each hour got me closer to the first 3 days being done and over with.
Trams are a synthetic opiate with a antidepressant like effect, This is what makes them so difficult to come of. My elder dog Bonnie was given these and had seizures I threw them out. My thoughts and empathy go out to you Madmax..
