There are risks with every surgery - most of them are with anesthesia and infection. There is a reason to cover the skull - the reason why the bone is there in the first place, to protect the brain. So that surgery has been around for a while. I have not heard of ceramic being used.
As long as the surgeon is experienced, he should be fine. Travel with the head open and swelling may be iffy so I would ask. The purpose of the surgery is protection.
The wound healed by only using an antibiotic cream but whenever I step on rigid surface like stone or ceramic I feel something is inside and it hurts so much. My cats lip is infected. He's on his 2nd round of antibiotics but his lip appears to slowly be getting worse. Its not an open sore, it's inflamed with pus pockets. His gums and mouth are fine. Teeth are clean, no tartar.
Over time I noticed a darkness around the margin of the crown and in the gum above the crown. I want to get the crown redone to a all ceramic crown to get rid of the darkness. Is it a good idea?
The crown I have now is completely sound and cavity free. The endo looks fine too. Would just changing the crown to all ceramic make the darkness go away? Or will the post need to be changed too? I'm afraid of the worst, ie like the root fracturing.
i just shattered what I think is a ceramic plate; i was standing over the sink and it dropped from my hands. since then I feel like I have debris or grit in my left eye. i don't have pain or redness at this point; i flushed my eye with water but my eye doesn't feel right. I really don't want to go to an ER tonight. Could there be some type of small glass/ceramic in my eye? will it work its way out or will i have to see a doctor; please advise.
Your condition is probably traumatic trigeminal neuropathy, instead of allergic reaction.Seeing an orofacial pain specialist or neurologist is advised. Pharmacologic intervention may help resume normal nerve function.
i felt better after stopping use of ceramic in question and am feeling better with some dandelion detoxing.

I have some Ivoclar InLine crowns that feel fine. I had Lava crowns with Nortiake Cerebian ceramic that tasted like chalk. I got some Ivoclar emax crowns and they are chalky and sour. The only thing those two ceramics seem to have in common is that they contain lithium. InLine doesn't.
The question is - Has anyone had this happen or heard about it happening?
I had one tooth pulled and the other cap repalced with ceramic with a zirconim base. I am still having tooth pain, soreness in the gums, acrid taste in mouth, and loss of taste. How do I identify if it is still an allergic reaction?
I switched to ceramic bowls and he has done so much better. No scabs on his chin or mouth, but now he has large scabs on his neck. I switched food to see if that would help. I am pretty sure he doesn't have flees. I check regularly. Is there anything i can do. I am taking him to the vet in a week, but would like advice in the meen time.

I had my both upper front tooth capped like 2 weeks ago, since I have a hard time adjusting my tongue positioning, as soon as it touches the ceramic caps it tastes like hell, is it possible have capping done again that can taste like an actual teeth.
My dentist has suggested that i go in for ceramic crowns for them....I was just wondering since i am just 22 yrs should i go ahead right now or should i wait for a couple of years before i go in for crowns...

In January 2013 they were replaced by new ceramic teeth. One fell off after a few month and was glued back. The second fell a few weeks later was glued back and fell again one or two months later (that's today).

One molar, which has a very large amalgam filling from a previous dentist, has a large crack and discoloration down one side of the tooth. The dentist recommended a ceramic crown (he has some device in his office which can make the crown while-we-wait). The tooth currently does not cause any pain.
The next tooth over also has a very large amalgam filling. The tooth looks healthy, but the filling looks old (its maybe 7 years old), and possibly needs to be replaced.
My right THR is MOM but left THR is Ceramic on Ceramic. Both the THR was being done in Chennai. But after this surgery there is inequality of leg length and limping is still there. If all metal fillings do generate metal taste, you can have composite filling, ceramic restorations as alternatives. However, other restorations probably cost you more than amalgam filiing does.
When I brush it with a whitening toothpaste the current color (the one that a bit darker now) remains.
