280234 tn?1532986249 Hi, Your description seems to suggest that this lump may be a callosity caused due to improper footwear leading to chronic friction or injury at the ankle. You should use comfortable footwear preferably with padding for the affected area. Avoid wearing heels and ill-fitting shoes. You can also use petroleum jelly or glycerine over the affected area. You can probably consult a general physician for now to check the swelling and rule out something more serious.

Avatar f tn Squats. Lots and lots of squats. They're boring as all get out, but a katrillion squats coupled with high resistance cardio spiking on the bike (3 minutes high resistance, one minute off, for 45 minutes, but up your resistance gradually as your thighs get stronger over time) have given me thighs of steel--and I used to have skinny little chicken legs. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Dear friend, the heels are main culprit. I hope it,s not a high heel which is pencil tip. Please make your footwear more comfortable, if you want to avoid this problem. Also, please take care of your back, as this job demands lot of standing, which itself, can cause low back ache.
Avatar n tn All I can say is that prolonged pressure on one point is responsible for your pain. You should try acupressure and wear soft padded footwear preferably slip-ons and not shoes. You can also try foot wear with soles designed according to pressure points. Also when you are standing keep changing the position, lift your foot off the ground for sometime and let your foot bear the body weight alternatively. If possible keep a small stool nearby on which you can rest your foot from time to time.
Avatar f tn Especially when bending to pick up something or put on footwear.
Avatar m tn It can also be a pressure point where the whole body weight gets centered due to incorrect posture or footwear. Arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis could also be the cause. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Hope this helps. Take care!

Avatar f tn Change his footwear, make it more comfortable. Apply ice packs and give him over the counter ibuprofen or naproxen and ask him to rest for 3-4 days. If his pain continues he would need a proper clinical examination and atleast an X-ray for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Take care!
Avatar f tn Hi: Last year I fell (hard) on black ice and developed foot drop involving the L-5 nerve. I had surgery and, oddly enough, it seemed to make the condition worse. My neurosurgeon sent me to an orthopedic specialist for a custom brace. I still haven't worn it because I can't find shoes big enough to fit it(!) It's huge! In the meantime, I bought a couple of braces on Amazon that had high ratings and I've been using them. My footwear, however, is severely limited.
Avatar f tn Select proper footwear, as this is the most important thing to avoid surgery.Visit a proper orthopaedic store and also go for some posture correction to distribute your weight while standing etc. Take care!
