The "alternative" is just dronabinol, the generic name of marinol. Marinol is synthetic THC, an oil/liquid at room temp, but provided as gel tabs which must be kept refrigerated. Marinol is NOT the CBD discussed on TV for kids.

I want and need to stop smoking pot but want to avoid the w/d's, need to work etc. It's my understanding Marinol can ease the symptoms considerably. Anyone know how to get it? I tried going to the Dr but he would not prescribe it off-label. Any suggestions?

I have pain in both of my knees and have had a cortazone shot in my arm for pain over the last year. I continue to here that Marinol can relief pain in that manner. I do not want to smoke marijuana. I read comments from others in Las Vegas where I live they found doctors who precribe Marinol. Can you provide me the name or locations of these doctors. I tried to use my main doctor and a urologist but no luck for they are not comforable in precribing it.

If I recall correctly, you have cirrhosis, so you really do have to be careful not to take anything that the doctor does not approve first.

But, I would like to know if there is an over the counter medicine. I only get the urgency after a little stress. It stops after 10 hours or so on it's own. But, a cheaper "as needed" OTC medicine would sure be something I am interested in.

, there could be a serious reason why this is happening, i dont mean to scare you, it could be that you are constipated and pushing to much, but if the bowl is filled up, i would call your doctor right away, and this way, they can rule out different causes and hopefully get to the problem, i wouldnt take anything over the counter until i was seen by a doctor, good luck, let us know how you make out.

yes yes, I am clean from Vicoden, Antidepresants but still am using a sleep aid, have been using over the counter meds for sleep since the 80's then went to prescription sleep aid and now I only sleep 3 or 4 hours using them. I am going to go off them soon. My Dr would like to see me wait until Jan just because I came off two meds this year and had surgery's but please don't go to prescription sleep aids I think it is harder to get off them than OCT.

I hear you! There are all of the little concentration tricks like exercise, frequent breaks, etc. but they don't deal with the emotion/feeling part of it. There is one web site that I like to visit. Its definitely adult orientated. Most of the contributors seem to have ADHD and share their experiences, successes, and failures. I think you might find it helpful. take a look and let me know how you like it. I really need some feedback as I have recommended it a few times.

Im wondering how to get marinol? Because if i was able to get marinol legaly then i wouldnt have to break the law and use marijuana. I have take some pain pills and other stuff but nothing works for me other then marijuana. Marinol is legal in all 50 states from what I know, but is only available by prescription and is used almost exclusively for cancer patients. Medical marijuana is legal in 20 states and D.C. but not in Mississippi.

I took 1 2.5 mg Marinol cap about 2 weeks ago. I don't do drugs. The pill was taken by mistake. Am I positive for THC?
