I was wondering about Medicare coverage for this. We live in Ohio and so far the copays we have been quoted are out of our reach. Over $100, and that's for an alternative. Does anyone know if there is extra coverage that we might be eligible for?

Just to provide a little more detail on Marinol. Marinol is legal in the US and is available by prescription. It is not real marijuana but man-made or synthetic THC. THC is one of the psychoactive components in marijuana; however real marijuana has other chemical componds that Marinol does not such as CBD (cannabinoid) that isn't very psychoactive but helps significantly reduce inflammation, relaxes muscles, and relieves pain.

Me not living in a Medical marijuana state i have to break the law in order to feel better. Since im breaking the law by medicaling myself i recently have a run in with the law now am on probation. I get drug tested 2 times a week. I have not use marijuana in about 2 months and everyday its the same thing anxity, horrible back pain, and atleast 3-6 times a week i have bad nausea. Im wondering how to get marinol?

I took 1 2.5 mg Marinol cap about 2 weeks ago. I don't do drugs. The pill was taken by mistake. Am I positive for THC?

Thanks newoutlook12. I have bad withdrawals from it as do many people. It's actually recognized as a syndrome in the DSM IV. It ***** but passes in about 10-14 days. The worst part anyway...

I've read about some people diagnosed with ADD taking marinol as a form of medication. I was wondering what effects it would have when taken with adderall, or as a replacement for other meds. What sort of side effects, and/or lack of side effects to make other meds more effective.

There's a form of marijuana in pill form... it's called MARINOL (Dronabinol). I was put on it when I lost 40lbs as a side-effect of taking another medication. The side-effect of MARINOL, is that it gives you the munchies and MAKES you want to eat. Gained the weight back slowly, and stopped taking it. Makes me wonder why they went all-out, and went the actual marijuana route, instead of trying MARINOL first.

My dad takes oxycodone 15mg/ oxycontin 20mg/ marinol 2.5mg/ and ibuprofen 220mg Marinol is synthetic marijuana and it is doing wonders for his back pain. But if this is the case then shouldn't he theoretically be able to go off of the oxy's? I am so confused. Doctors don't tell me about liver or kidney protection and that is one of my first concerns.

I have liver cirrhosis and when I became ill, my doctor prescribed Marinol for weight gain. I had lost 85 lbs and gained 30 pounds with this treatment. Did get ideas of everyday putting 1/4 coconut oil in something I am eating, To use real butter. To use olive oil in salads and eat 1 carrot a day. Plus drink purified water.
