How do you tell the difference between a urinary tract infection and yeast infectiy?

You could have some other type of infection. It sounds like a urinary tract infection. It may be a bacterial infection on the bumps as well. I would go in and see your doctor to have them test you to see if you have a urinary tract infection. Since it is Friday. t test for a urinary tract infection at first despite my complaints. So I believe I went weeks with a urinary tract infection that should have been diagnosed early in my treatment. So I would insist on having a urinalysis too if you are experiencing painful urination. Your doctor will probably request that test, but if not I would insist upon it. I wish I had. Good luck. Don't wait too much longer since a UTI could move up to the kidney and cause complications.

I had unprotected sex in Latin America (once, and regretting ever since)-- 3 weeks later I had a urinary tract infection and figured out that I had Candida (Penile Yeast Infection)-- but the weird thing that was discovered was also Acinetobacter spp. Any ideas of my risk for HIV is amplified if this bacteria was found? Sounds like UTI or yeast infection. Try getting a DIY yeast infection kit from the pharmacy.

m not a doctor but it sounds to me like you got a yeast infection from the antibiotics for the urinary tract infection. A lot of doctors recommend eating yogurt while on antibiotics so you don't get yeast infections. You might want to try eating it now perhaps it will help. If you do you need to make sure it's yogurt with live bacteria. Hope this helps!

they gave me male yeast infection meds and bladder infection meds for a week which helped, but now all my problems are just a slight burning while peeing and if i get an erection and like poke my urethra tube or like push my wang down i get this sharp stinging pain like inside my wang, its freakin me out and very discouraging cuz the meds are done and the docs dont know what it is, i was clean on a swab aswell

hello all.....so the last several times my GF and i have had sex she has developed what she is calling a yeast infection about a week after....redness, " raw " feeling very minor discharge. the last time it responded and cleared up after about 2 days of otc treatment for yeast. she asks if i have any trouble with me...i have some minor testicular pain and thats about it. i have had other questions answered on other forums related to stds and don't think that is an issue...

It could be a urinary tract infection - those are really common during pregnancy. Your doc can schedule a urine test to check for that, and prescribe antibiotics that are safe to take while pregnant.

If you are on antibiotics be sure you are eating alot of probiotic yogurt or taking acidophillus. Antibiotics kill the good bacteria. This may result in a yeast infection. Try prevent getting a yeast infection as they are just as uncomfortable if not worse.

my son had pain in the area around age 10 and he was diagnosed with a a urinary tract infection- I never thought of this area being sore- because as a woman my symptoms are so different- or if he has been on antibiotics recently if he means the penis opening- could be yeast overgrowth- yes even men get it. If so, try a OTC cream and/or acidophilus.

Sounds kinda like a urinary tract infection. You might need to take antibiotics to get rid of it.
