yeast-infection

Hello, You are right in thinking that it can be a male yeast infection. Men yeast infection can develop due to the overgrowth of Candida albicans. It can be transmitted through intercourse but may develop due in diabetics, weakened immunity and when taking a course of antibiotics also. Some of the symptoms of this condition are irritation and soreness in the head of the male genital, white curdy discharge and redness in the head of the penis.
I am a 20 year old male. I got diagnosed with a yeast infection in February of last year, which affected both my testicles and penis. I was prescribed 2% Ketoconazole cream by the dermatologist and I applied the cream for 8-10 weeks. When I stopped applying the cream, I had no symptoms whatsoever for 6 months (it was beautiful, I was finally normal!). It might be important to note that these 6 months were Spring through Fall, and the weather was relatively warm if not hot.
Hi! Yes, its possible. yeast for a male is what is commonly called "jock itch". Usually they are red and itchy in the groin region. There are lots of over the counter preparations for both men and women for yeast. If you try these and they don't help--you should get an exam to make sure it IS yeast and not something else, and also to get a prescription for Diflucan--a wonder drug for yeast! Good luck!
The itchyness and spots have disappeared but now I have a burning sensation on and in the tip of the penis. Could this be still the yeast infection? What can I do to get rid of this?
Now because boils (which typically have an area around them which is red and sensitive) have appeared on my inner thigh and in close proximity to my groin i'm starting to think it's a Stapph infection or something else bacterial, so i've been trying to get my hands on some broad spec anitbiotics.
I am a 35 year old diabetic male, so that made me wonder if I was dealing with a yeast infection. However, I have no rash on my penis or testicles as stated is common with male yeast infections. I have been using an anti fungal cream , Lotrimin Ultra, for a couple of days. I have yet to see any relief, and in fact think it is a bit worse, but maybe because I have been out in the heat and being active. Could this by herpes? I really don't think it is, but its a question I have to ask.
I have not had any form of sexual interaction in the past 9 months; I've only had 1 known yeast infection other time in my life. I can fully accept if this is herpes but I just need a second opinion so bad. Thank you so much!
looked at it very carefully and stated that it was a yeast infection. Prescribed Difucan and Nystatin w/triamcinolone and said to keep it dry w/ baby powder cornstarch. After 3 days the redness and burning on my scrotum was gone and the rash that had spread to my shaft had started to fade. After 10 days the scrotum is fine, but the rash that was on my shaft is now peeling as if the yeast has dead(die-off?) and now my body is trying to shed it.
but not the groin area? my son had pain in the area around age 10 and he was diagnosed with a a urinary tract infection- I never thought of this area being sore- because as a woman my symptoms are so different- or if he has been on antibiotics recently if he means the penis opening- could be yeast overgrowth- yes even men get it. If so, try a OTC cream and/or acidophilus.
In late December, I had a yeast infection on my genitals. At the same time/slightly before this I notice dry flaky skin at the corners of my mouth. I treated the penile infection with a 2% (I think) miconazole nitrate cream; Applying for the most part, twice a day. Fast forward several months, I have what looks like sebhorreic dermatitis on my forehead (starting from above/in between my eyebrows), sides of my nose spreading downward around my mouth. and a patch on the back of my neck.
Additionally before any of this I was prescribed a months worth of doxycycline and then the week of the incident i was taking a z-pack (azithromycin). My dad said he thought maybe i just had a male yeast infection from all the antibiotics My questions - Is it likely I have herpes? I heard its not very common to catch it from oral sex, but possible. Is it likely I have HIV?

Hoping to get an opinion regarding some very disconcerting symptoms ive been having lately (for reference, I am a 24 y/o heterosexual male) . I posted this in the STD forum as well but thought i may get more responses here, please let me know if i should remove one post or the other. I recently (2 weeks ago) had unprotected sex with a new girlfriend after we agreed to be exclusive who assured me she was "completely clean" but who i know has "been around".
(I'm a 19 year old male) For the last day or two, I've had a rash develop in the crease between my inner thigh and my pelvic mound. It has gotten progressively redder and rawer-looking, but does not itch, tingle, burn, and is only a little uncomfortable when i touch it. I wouldn't have even noticed it if I hadn't seen it in the shower. After doing a bit of digging around, I've seen alot of similar posts that point to a yeast or general fungal infection.
She has no other STD's, which makes me think that's the only possibility. I don't know what to expect of a male yeast infection, or how to go about treatment. I also have to cold sores in the corners of my mouth, possibly a fungus... I don't know if the rash could potentially be a fungus as well and require an anti-fungal cream. Thanks again.
I have the same exact problem. It's been just over a year for me. I am on my fifth dermatologist, who finally tested things. Two of the earlier docs said it was eczema and gave me steroids which made it much worse. I currently try to control the amount of sugar and complex carbs I eat. The doctor did a scraping and biopsy. The scraping came back pos for fungus but the black light did not glow the way he said it would if it were yeast. He said that doesn't prove it isn't yeast.
On about Thursday of this week, I started to notice some pain in the left side of my groin. This pain became more severe, and after some research, I realized my lymph nodes in my groin were the culprit. I then went to the doctor, who after hearing my story and performing a check-up, found no sign of an STD and put me on Zithromax for 3 days.
Maybe thrush but if so it would be an extremely mild case as I don't have the sort of rash usually associated with male yeast infections. It could always be another sort of fungal infection and it would make sense that it worsened considering the cocktail of antibiotics I have been given. I know that Balanitis is the most common symptom with thrush so this is why I think it maybe something of that sort.
It's common for people with rashes in skin folds (groin, beneath breasts) to be diagnosed with yeast. Sometimes they have yeast, and even more often they have an irritative rash. This responds promptly to a cortisone derivative. Does this mean you never had yeast? No, you very likely did. It means you probably don't have one now. My suggestion is for your doctor to consider treating you with a mid-range steroid (like triamcinolone 0.1%) for ma week. That should make the rash go away.
I'm a 23-year-old male. For the past week or so I've had a very fast developing rash in my groin area. I've never had anything like this before. I'm not overweight, not sexually active, and take showers daily. I don't have the money to go see the doctor and don't have insurance. I did some research online and initially thought it was jock itch, but now I'm beginning to wonder. I bought some Lamasil and have been using that for the last few days, but the rash seems to be expanding.
my best geuss at this point is balinitis or yeast infection.. possibly trichomonias.... have no idea if the blood test urinalysis covers all this stuff at the 10 week mark my tool looked totally normal before picking up this random girl.., this is the reason i posted in this forum. please help... anybody..
