macrobid uti dosing

I went to my gyn I had a uti he gave me meds macrobid and said it will also help my throat . But I don't see how plus I don't feel comfortable taking meds while I'm pregnant Is there anything I can do without meds ?for UTI and Sore Throat if not did anybody take MACROBID while pregnant ?

I'm 10 weeks and I have a UTI. ER doctor prescribed me Macrobid 100mg BID for ten days. Have any one taken this while pregnant? I googled it, and there were a lot of horror stories......just curious to see if others have taken, and there pregnancy remained normal...

Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!

e,, The UTIs are probably contributing to a relapse and docs solution to the UTI is macrobid - aah, and then benadryl to try to quell the reaction to the macrobid! No wonder you are at your wits end. My suggestion is to look the doc dead in the eye and demand another antibiotic for the UTI. Tell he/she you are willing to take your chances on another med. How long does the numbness and loss of function last each time?

m a ftm too currently 27wk and around 22wks I had went to my doc complaining about the same thing burning after urinating and the test came bak negative for a uti but the pain did not go away so I went bak a few days later and sure enuff it was a uti so they prescribed me macrobid and I was fine for about a week after but then I had to go bak to the hospital becus all the pain came bak.

I have chronic bladder infections and on long term Macrobid and still get frequent UTIs. I have had 3+ bacteria for the last 2 months despite Cipro and Levaquin. This morning the UTI is back with burning, frequency. They did not do a C&S before Cipro I think because it is always e-coli. What could be wrong with these 2 meds not working?....I am so tired of this pain and burning. I also have had lower back pain and groin pain for the last 2 mos.

I got a uti January 31st I did a 10 day round of macrobid then went back to the doc still had it when I went back Feb 22nd so did another 7 days of macrobid still didn't get rid of it finally March 25th I got a shot of rocephin which cleared it up.

I have just gotten off of meds for a horrible uti. I finished the meds yesterday. They are not to be taken during pregnancy. They are macrobid and metronidazole. Just found out I'm pregnant today and I'm super worried.

Ok so I am now 9 weeks pregnant and I have a uti. My doc precribed me the antibiotic macrobid. She said it is safe during pregnancy but I have read so many post from woman online who say macrobid caused them problems nor even miscarriage. I have had 3 miscarriages and this pregnancy seems to be going really well. So im very nervous to take this med. Do any of you ladies know of any natural ways to get rid of a uti? Also if you have taken this med during pregnancy, what was the out come?

I've been told I have a UTI and was given Macrobid/Nitrofurantoin. I have taken 3 tablets but out of curiosity I looked them up on the internet and it said some women have lost their babies days after taking the tablets. Has anyone taken these and had a healthy pregnancy?!

I was given macrobid at 20 weeks for a uti my dr said it was safe to take while pregnant. Im now almost 32 weeks and baby is fine. Although i think she said yeast infections were common with it I never got one. These sites online may not be the most reputable so I wouldn't listen much. Plus if you dont take meds you could end up with bladder or kidney infection.

Hi.. has anyone else taken macrobid for uti?? Is it normal to feel horribly sick with it? How did you all deal with the nausea? My doc gave me reglan but it doesn't seem to be helping and I'm hardly half way with macrobid.. I've been non functional while taking it and it's getting worse every day. I've had 3 UTIs this pregnancy and everytime the doctor had prescribed macrobid, but it doesnt seem to do anything. I drink alot of water and cranberry juice, but nothing is seeming to help. Anyone have this problem or suggestions?

I am 23 years old. I have relapsing-remitting MS and was given Macrobid for a UTI. After my first day of Macrobid, my entire left side has gone numb and i have lost function in it. I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this?

i was just given macrobid by my doctor to treat a bladder infection. i know that he wouldnt give me something that would be harmful, and not treating it would be more harmful then taking medications .. i would just like to hear if anyone eles has taken this medication for a uti and if they had any side effects with it? i tryed to look for infromation on the net about it but there were to many mixed reviews on this... or is there any other safer drugs you've take for uti's?

Was in the ER weekend before last. Diagnosed me with a UTI, and put me on Macrobid 100mg BID. Got a call yesterday, they said my culture reads that the bacteria in my urine is resistant to Macrobid. So apparently they didn't do a Culture and Sensitivity test when I was in the ER like they should have. I had to pay $50 for the Macrobid that I took, that didn't and wouldn't do diddly-squat for my "UTI". I think I was misdiagnosed and mistrated with the Macrobid.

I took Bactrim for my UTI recently. The nurse said the anti-biotic wouldn't have any effects on the baby but if they UTI stayed around it would cause pre-term labor. I'm assuming the benefits out-weight the negatives. I don't think your doctor would have prescribed you something unsafe for your baby.

Is either proteus mirabilis or proteus vulgaris resistant to macrobid? I have a UTI that is resistant to macrobid and my doctor mentioned one of the above as the cause--I believe. I had to switch to another antibiotic. Just curious?

the only thing they found was some red blood cells in my urine. The doctor prescribed me macrobid anyways...I havent taken them yet because it has almost completely gone away. I have been gorging myself with water, so i am hoping that it was only because i was dehydrated. Any suggestions? Should I take the macrobid anyways?
