macrobid long term

I have chronic bladder infections and on long term Macrobid and still get frequent UTIs. I have had 3+ bacteria for the last 2 months despite Cipro and Levaquin. This morning the UTI is back with burning, frequency. They did not do a C&S before Cipro I think because it is always e-coli. What could be wrong with these 2 meds not working?....I am so tired of this pain and burning. I also have had lower back pain and groin pain for the last 2 mos.

ve gotten so many, the doc put me on a long term antibiotic. I have to take amoxicillin for the rest of my pregnancy.

I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... How can the weakness and numbness be stopped.

I ended up being admitted into the hosp for 19 days. Evidently the Macrobid put my pancreatitis into an attack!! So it took this long to get it under control.

3. If so since I have bascially been on macrobid for almost two weeks how long should I wait before I take the gonherrea/chlymadia urine test? When will the results be accurate? 4. Is there some other cause even std related I should be exlporing with my doctor? I took Bactrim for my UTI recently. The nurse said the anti-biotic wouldn't have any effects on the baby but if they UTI stayed around it would cause pre-term labor. I'm assuming the benefits out-weight the negatives. I don't think your doctor would have prescribed you something unsafe for your baby.

6 weeks ago, I took a course of Macrobid (generic) for a UTI. After completing the 7 day cycle, I developed excruciating heartburn, to the point of tears. The following day (2 days after Macrobid) I started itching (scalp, chest, neck, arms...) This has gone on for 6 weeks! I have been to the doctors, ER, allergist to no avail. ALL of these professionals claim that pruritis (chronic itching of the skin) could NOT be caused from an anitbiotic this long after completing it.

Did anyone take macrobid for uti during third trimester?

Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!

ok girls.. i got the macrobid filled.. Im just going to take it. Im still nervous about it but, the infection is probably worse for the baby.

Has anyone been perscribed, or taken macrobid at the ens of there pregnancy? I was proscribed it. I habe two different drs and im.being induced monday. And it DIRECTLY states dont use it 37 weeks or later or close to delivery. .. im scared and this pregnancy is so freaking hard on me. Im getting to the point of giving up. I've never had a uti. I'm 27 and this is my first one they put me on macrobid. It seems I'm using the bathroom every 30 minutes. Before I went to doc to see what was wrong I wasn't peeing like this...has anyone has this before? Did macrobid make you pee a lot and tired??

i was just given macrobid by my doctor to treat a bladder infection. i know that he wouldnt give me something that would be harmful, and not treating it would be more harmful then taking medications .. i would just like to hear if anyone eles has taken this medication for a uti and if they had any side effects with it? i tryed to look for infromation on the net about it but there were to many mixed reviews on this... or is there any other safer drugs you've take for uti's?

The urinalysis that was sent to the lab showed that their was a tiny bacteria but they werent sure if this was due to cross contamination. I had unprotected sex with a new partner...and a week or so later i noticed pelvic pain. Made an appt and get tested for stds (12 days after unprotected sex). The doc found a uti and rx'd macrobid. Std tests came back negative. Macrobid didn't help and i developed burning with urination...doc gave me cipro. After cipro burning and pelvic pain was worse, so i went to the er. They found cervicitis and swabbed the pus for a std test and rx'd doxycycline for 2 weeks.

I was then put on 5 days of macrobid (twice day). (During my antibiotics I was still having sex) My last pill was Saturday night (9/17) and I am still suffering from frequent urination. Azo seems to help but I don't want to rely on it. I'm 19 and this is my first UTI ever. Has this happened to anyone else? Where antibiotics stop but urgency doesn't? I should mention I am no longer feeling ANY pain, no burning while urination, no fever, no lowerback pain. Just the need to pee.
