Ok I know I'm probably not really dying, but I need some help. About two years ago I discovered I have a condition called IC that makes me have UTI symptoms triggered by diet. Anyways, antibiotics have no effect as it is an allergy rather than a bacterial infection. As you may imagine, the false UTI symptoms make it difficult to detect a real UTI. So about 5 days ago I noticed more severe symptoms than usual, and upon googling, it turned out I have every symptom of a UTI.
The following day (2 days after Macrobid) I started itching (scalp, chest, neck, arms...) This has gone on for 6 weeks! I have been to the doctors, ER, allergist to no avail. ALL of these professionals claim that pruritis (chronic itching of the skin) could NOT be caused from an anitbiotic this long after completing it. I take 300 mg of Zantac and 180 mg f Allegra a day, which does seem to help.

I took Macrobid for the UTI and after I finished the prescription (four days after I finished it, about 3 weeks after my trip) I developed a rash/hives on my back, chest, face (there were a few big hives on/around my eyes making it hard to see), hands, and crotch. I thought it might just be an allergic reaction to Macrobid and did what I normally do when I have an allergic reaction, take a prednisone prescription (pill form).
I've had 3 uti's this pregnancy, therefore I have been put on macrobid for the remaining of my pregnancy. I have to take 1 every night until I deliver. Started @32 weeks am now 35+5. No problems from it yet. I haven't had any syptoms of uti so I would never known if it weren't for the urine soles at Dr. Office.
Went back to GP and he said the results of the urinalysis and urine culture were normal but I told him about that the pain had since intensified. He did chest X-ray, abdominal X-ray, Tran rectal ultrasound, Digital Rectal Exam, PSA test suspecting it was prostatitis and while he waited for the results, he put me on a 10 day dose of Cipro. The results were normal for all tests with the exception of the testicular ultrasound and abdominal X-ray which showed moderate constipation.
DOES MACROBID CAUSE BLEEDING OR MAKE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE COME EARLY. I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. MY MENSTRUAL CAME 3 DAYS EARLY AND THERE IS BRIGHT RED BLOOD AND USUALLY MY MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS NOT THAT BRIGHT. I INITIIALLY WASNT DUE FOR MY MENSTRUAL UNTIL YESTERDAY I'VE BEEN BLEEDING SINCE THE 3RD AND IM STILL BLEEDING BUT NOT ALOT LIKE I WAS YESTERDAY AND THE DAYS BEFORE BUT THE BLEEDING HAS LIGHTENED.
The urinalysis that was sent to the lab showed that their was a tiny bacteria but they werent sure if this was due to cross contamination. My questions are below, the dr took put me on macrobid saying this may help my issue.
1 Prescribed Macrrobid which I believe has Helped, Would this cure NGU? From what I read Macrobid is generally given for UTI's which im hoping is what I have. The dr never mentioned NGU to me .
She said at the end of urinating it kind of tingles and there was some presure and pain in her bladder area, but no burning.. Just tingling and pressure/pain in her bladder area.. So anyway she went to the doctor and they said she had a uti, and gave her macrobid. She said they were also doing a urine culture, but its been two weeks and she has not mentioned any results.. Well in less than 48 hours of being on macrobid she said all her symptoms were gone.. MY question is..
My 65 y.o mother recently started getting a rash that began on her upper chest and has spread all over her body-head, face, arms, legs, hands, buttocks, legs. It starts out like a red discoloration on the skin and progresses to small open sores, not blisters. She had a severe allergic reaction to levaquin back in september, but recent rash did not begin until feb. She was taking macrobid for kidney infection in jan. but rash did not begin until feb.
I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... I had unprotected sex with a new partner...and a week or so later i noticed pelvic pain. Made an appt and get tested for stds (12 days after unprotected sex). The doc found a uti and rx'd macrobid. Std tests came back negative. Macrobid didn't help and i developed burning with urination...doc gave me cipro. After cipro burning and pelvic pain was worse, so i went to the er. They found cervicitis and swabbed the pus for a std test and rx'd doxycycline for 2 weeks.
Also, after taking the macrobid, I got another urine test taken and there is minimal amount of bacteria in the sample. My GP said that this was normal since it's hard to get a completely clean catch.
Did anyone take macrobid for uti during third trimester?
Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!
Has anyone been perscribed, or taken macrobid at the ens of there pregnancy? I was proscribed it. I habe two different drs and im.being induced monday. And it DIRECTLY states dont use it 37 weeks or later or close to delivery. .. im scared and this pregnancy is so freaking hard on me. Im getting to the point of giving up. And i dont want to cause my boy and family need me to fight.
My stomach feels more tender and kinda like an empty feeling.. Also my low abdominal pain is off and on still..and I've been takin my macrobid for 3 days now for my UTI.. Is this normal? Or could I have something else rather than a bladder infection.
I was diagnosed with a minor UTI (my first one ever) about 8 days ago. They gave me a three day dose of Macrobid - which I did not consume. I am too afraid. I am allergic to the cillins (anaphylaxis), and have had a horrible reaction to quinones. Every time I thought about putting that little Macrobid in my mouth, I would start to panic. The following day, without the Macrobid, my symptoms were much improved. The day after that - even better.
Well, ya. I don't mean like burning searing pain, I just don't know exactly how to describe it. As the flow ends of urine, it hurts as it is expelled. Hopefully the Macrobid does the trick! Let us know!
I'm 10 weeks and I have a UTI. ER doctor prescribed me Macrobid 100mg BID for ten days. Have any one taken this while pregnant? I googled it, and there were a lot of horror stories......just curious to see if others have taken, and there pregnancy remained normal...
