macrobid back pain

Dr prescribed macrobid. Then next morning my lower back was hurting again, same spot. Will macrobid help clear up a kidney infection?

I posted on here earlier this week that I was having burning after urination but doc tested and no uti well it got worse and I ended up back at the doc and turns out it is a uti.. She prescribed me macrobid... Has anyone else taken this? Any complications with it?

I had unprotected sex with a new partner...and a week or so later i noticed pelvic pain. Made an appt and get tested for stds (12 days after unprotected sex). The doc found a uti and rx'd macrobid. Std tests came back negative. Macrobid didn't help and i developed burning with urination...doc gave me cipro. After cipro burning and pelvic pain was worse, so i went to the er. They found cervicitis and swabbed the pus for a std test and rx'd doxycycline for 2 weeks.

I have a history of kidney stones and UTI (with pregnancy and without) and I went in for blood in my urine and back pain...and they said that my urine was clear (no infection) and everything else looked fine..but that because of the blood they prescribed macrobid as a preventative. I did NOT take it, and I think I should have.

I also have had lower back pain and groin pain for the last 2 mos. I have been diagnosed with LUTS and had vaginal tape 10 yrs ago for prolapse. What do you recommend ?

She said at the end of urinating it kind of tingles and there was some presure and pain in her bladder area, but no burning.. Just tingling and pressure/pain in her bladder area.. So anyway she went to the doctor and they said she had a uti, and gave her macrobid. She said they were also doing a urine culture, but its been two weeks and she has not mentioned any results.. Well in less than 48 hours of being on macrobid she said all her symptoms were gone.. MY question is..

i was just given macrobid by my doctor to treat a bladder infection. i know that he wouldnt give me something that would be harmful, and not treating it would be more harmful then taking medications .. i would just like to hear if anyone eles has taken this medication for a uti and if they had any side effects with it? i tryed to look for infromation on the net about it but there were to many mixed reviews on this... or is there any other safer drugs you've take for uti's?

Also, after taking the macrobid, I got another urine test taken and there is minimal amount of bacteria in the sample. My GP said that this was normal since it's hard to get a completely clean catch.

My stomach feels more tender and kinda like an empty feeling.. Also my low abdominal pain is off and on still..and I've been takin my macrobid for 3 days now for my UTI.. Is this normal? Or could I have something else rather than a bladder infection.

I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... How can the weakness and numbness be stopped.

But then two days after finishing the antibiotics, the symptoms came back and I had abdominal pain and kidney pain. I went back to the walk in clinic and was put on Macrobid for five days. After five days however, none of my symptoms seemed to be gone. I went to immediate care and they gave me another five days of Macrobid. I finally started feeling better by the 7th day on Macrobid. I took about two weeks to get rid of the UTI, and then I felt fine for about another two weeks.

She did a urinalysis and in the office it came back with WBC, ketones and the ph was off. She put me on macrobid-sigh. When it came back it came back as beta strep again!!! She put me on amox again but I am not filling it. I am going to make an appointment with a Urologist. What is the deal!!! I never had any urinary issues. I am freaking out that this infection will never go away!!! Anyone have a UTI caused by this! So annoying.

This is day is day 3 of the pills and i was wondering how long until it starts working? i am not in nearly as much pain as I was, but the pain with urination is still there slightly and get worse at night.

Hi wondering if anyone can help me please. A month ago I started to have cramping pain in lower abdomen and frequent urination . My doctor put me on macrobid but that didn't help . Then put me on cipro which didn't help either . The pain would come and go with lower back pain as well and getting up to urinate and bladder pressure all the time . After that my urine culture came back positive with group b strep . I'm not pregnant . My doctor gave me 7 days of penicillin .

Hello - Feb 16 - woke up with burning sensation inside penis, prescribed 7 day macrobid for suspected UTI, week later urine and urine culture came back normal. Put on 10 day Cipro suspected prostatitis, PSA, DRE and Trans Rectal Ultrasound all normal. Went to ER a few days later with pain in the penile shaft and glans. Examined by ER doctor and put on 10 days cipro and 1 dose cefixime. Went back to doctor, put me on 21 days sulfatrim for suspected Epidimitis-ochitis and ordered US.

DOES MACROBID CAUSE BLEEDING OR MAKE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE COME EARLY. I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. I got a uti January 31st I did a 10 day round of macrobid then went back to the doc still had it when I went back Feb 22nd so did another 7 days of macrobid still didn't get rid of it finally March 25th I got a shot of rocephin which cleared it up.

The urinalysis that was sent to the lab showed that their was a tiny bacteria but they werent sure if this was due to cross contamination. Does the antibiotic macrobid used to treat uti's decrease the effectiveness of birth control? Because I'm on the pill and I shouldn't get my period for another week and I've been bleeding.. This makes me nervous because while taking macrobid I had sex without a condom, he pulled out, but I know that's not always a safe alternative either. I was on macrobid for a UTI at the time of collection (started on macrobid Saturday, had 4 doses by the time of collection on Monday morning, blood work as fasting so last dose taken before blood collection was over 12 hours previously). 6 weeks ago, I took a course of Macrobid (generic) for a UTI. After completing the 7 day cycle, I developed excruciating heartburn, to the point of tears. The following day (2 days after Macrobid) I started itching (scalp, chest, neck, arms...) This has gone on for 6 weeks! I have been to the doctors, ER, allergist to no avail. ALL of these professionals claim that pruritis (chronic itching of the skin) could NOT be caused from an anitbiotic this long after completing it.

Was put on Macrobid for 7 days and I started feeling better overall except for foam and appetite. Now, 10 days post-Macrobid, the pain is still there but only for a few hours every 2 or 3 days. Foam in urine daily, and lately there seems to be little things floating in urine (white, like mucus?). Saw a urologist 2 days ago, another urinalysis showed very few WBC but nothing else.

I did not know what it could have been until I started to have a lower back pain. I am prone to UTIs and figured I had the classic sign. I went to the ER and was given Macrobid, but that still did not work. I then was given Cipro last week, and I am still finishing up the medicine. I have been taking AZO Tablets an ibuprofen along with the Cipro The Dr does not suspect any of these symptoms to be related to a trich infection.

Keflex. I tried macrobid when I had one 3 weeks ago and it didn't get rid of it I guess... so that's why I got another one.. but I'm allergic to penicillin so I can't do that. Keflex is a distant cousin of it but I'm not having any reaction to it. You might ask if they can switch you to it cuz I started it Friday afternoon and by the time I went to the hospital Saturday night it had already cleared up quite a bit.
