I found out tuesday that i have a pretty horribly UTI after swearing i had a yeast infection. I was put on Macrobid 1 pill twice a day for 7 days. This is day is day 3 of the pills and i was wondering how long until it starts working? i am not in nearly as much pain as I was, but the pain with urination is still there slightly and get worse at night.
Well last week I got another bladder infection, and had a prescription for macrobid so I completed the course, and subsequently came down with a yeast infection. Treated that, and now I have my monthly outbreak, except I woke up with the bladder issues yesterday, I'm afraid of taking antibiotics, and I don't have insurance. My question is can HSV2 cause bladder, UTI issues? Is it just coincidence it's around the same time as my outbreak?

sounds like you have an infection either uti or yeast totally normal in pregnancy you could even have both at the same time witch would cause it to feel unbearable to walk or get up I've experienced this my second time around go to your doctors as soon as possible and ask the to check you for a uti so that they can give you macrobid so it'll go away then go to a local drug store and buy mionistat 7 day and a yeast infection test good luck start drinking cranberry juice hope you feel bet
I went to the doc today because I knew I had a uti but this is my first yeast infection ever. They gave me Fluconazole for the yeast infection and 250mg ampicillin that I have to take two at a time 3 times a day. My question is does anyone have experience with either of these meds and do they work quickly? I'm super miserable.
A few nights ago my symptoms took a turn for the worst and I ended up in urgent care where I was finally diagnosed with a uti, bv, and a yeast infection. I have had all of these before numrous times and do everything under the sun to avoid getting them. In so glad to hear that I'm not alone. If you've had something that works for you please reply.
You are taking antibiotics - and macrobid is a strong one - and have been for several days, so even though you are on diflucan, it's going to be tough to balance out the good and bad stuff in the vagina that keeps it all healthy.
When they are testing you for yeast, are they also testing you for bacterial vaginitis? The white discharge sounds like yeast, but you should also rule out BV.
This could be herpes, but without testing, it's hard to know.
So, right now I am being treated with Macrobid for a bladder infection, Valtrex for possible HSV, and a cream yeast infection treatment. I was given a hospital-grade topical ointment containing lidocain for the burn. The doctor said that regardless of what the problem is, it should be gone in a few days. I am very unhappy with this conclusion, as I want to know for sure if I have HSV or not, obviously.

I took Macrobid for the UTI and after I finished the prescription (four days after I finished it, about 3 weeks after my trip) I developed a rash/hives on my back, chest, face (there were a few big hives on/around my eyes making it hard to see), hands, and crotch.
She said my nodes were only a bit swollen because I did not finish my macrobid, and my bladder was slightly inflammed, and any infection will cause a lymph reaction. I had a UTI test and I had keytones and white blood cells in my urine. I had PND and I am a smoker....smoking more frequently while freaking out, and that was the sore throat. No sign of herpes in my mouth. She said my vagina looked completly normal.

I went to the emergency room and the doctor checked my vagina and took a swab and said it looks like a yeast infection but It also looks like genital warts. I was shocked! I have had all my hpv shots and i dont know how i would get them my boyfriend of two years doesnt have them. Before i get my period i will sometimes get tiny papercut like cuts on the inside of my vagina lips. My vagina will also get really dry and my wax lady has told me twice that my vaginal skin is really thin.

He pretty much told met that after 7 days I should be feeling much better, so he wanted to switch me to Macrobrid and for me to stop the Ciprofloxicin. In addition, he did more blood wood, another urine sample and sent me for another ultrasound just to make sure. Yesterday, I woke up and I felt better.
I took it twice bc of two uti's. I think once in first trimester abd once in second. He said it was safe, it really worked well, and that is the first antibiotic that hasn't given me a yeast infection!
I am 16 wks. pregnant and my OB prescribed Macrobid for UTI, i had urinalysis and small amount of blood was noted. I told my OB that my urologist said that im always will have blood in my urine beacuse of hx. of cyst in my kidney so I requested to have urine culture prior to taking Macrobid, my OB is insistant to start the med. since it is going to take awhile for culture results to come back. so im already in my 4rt day of the meds.
So anyway she went to the doctor and they said she had a uti, and gave her macrobid. She said they were also doing a urine culture, but its been two weeks and she has not mentioned any results.. Well in less than 48 hours of being on macrobid she said all her symptoms were gone.. MY question is.. Could her bladder infection have been caused by an std (chlamydia, gonorrhea), and if it was would the macrobid have gotten rid of her symptoms or cured it?
