Macrobid and grapefruit

Common Questions and Answers about Macrobid and grapefruit

macrobid

Avatar_m_tn So I don't know what to do next. I did try the antibiotics that he gave me, macrobid, for after sex, and that did nothing at all. The other thing that seems unusual to me is that this year, I have very bad aching all the time in my uterus. If I push on it from the outside, it hurts too. They said I didn't have PID though? Okay... however, I do have a supposed ovarian cyst that is grapefruit-sized. Believe it or not, it has been there for like five years and before that, had reoccurred too.
Avatar_f_tn The first was a clinical trial and he had no antidepressant and it was a horrible experience. The second time he used daily iIfergen shots and took Celexa and it was bearable for him and our family. This time we started Celexa a month ahead and for about 5 days I gave him a half a pill and then went up to a whole. Titering up like this made it very easy and he didn't have any nausea or wierd feelings at all.
379229_tn?1208643019 I have had muscle aches, twitching and numbness and tingling in the legs, and sometimes arms and then two days ago, the weirdest foggiest feeling in my head. Flu like symptoms, and lack of sleep. and I have been kind of anxious and depressed. and I am not normally that way. I stopped the Premarin on Wed, and the Nitrofur on Thursday. Am wondering now about the synthroid. I have to call and check. They are blaming this on some weird virus attacking my nervous system that is going around.
233616_tn?1312790796 So for example, if you take a blood pressure medication that is metabolized by CYP3A4, inhibiting this enzyme with grapefruit juice may raise the levels of the blood pressure med in your blood and IN YOUR LIVER....and it can cause an overdose (and your blood pressure to go down too low). So if you want to lower your viral load by drinking grapefruit juice, you'll need to make sure that you're not taking any meds that are metabolized by CYP450.
2109342_tn?1380912575 Never went away, until I started my Lyme meds, a few months ago. Only took 2-3 weeks, after starting the meds and my nail was healed and didn't come back, until last week. I can't take the meds for fungus. Lamasil was one of those meds. Nothing I did for fungus worked. Even tried Mentholatum, but it turned the black to a yucky green and looked like moss. Used that procedure daily for months, but didn't work. This is why I'm thinking it could be Lyme related.
Avatar_f_tn My doctor finally told me last week that my cyst was the size of a grapefruit and it was growing into my bladder, his quesiton for me was how I got along as long as I did? Now with my post op and recovery I just not getting along like I thought I would. My asthma some days is just all I can stand. But I have faith and I rest my husband and two daughters they are home for school break and they really help. What is hard for me is letting people help me.
Avatar_n_tn coli and now it came back enterobacter aerogenes. I'm on macrobid and bactrim right now. Nothing is happing. My facial and scalp follicles are breaking out like crazy with liquidy pus and my tonsils are swollen and full of puss. It's so annoying though, because it'll heal up over night, and then I'll be clear for a whole two weeks or so. Then it comes back with a vengeance. It's pathetic to me that a doctor, including the one above, can just be like "it's hard to treat. sorry.
Avatar_n_tn Sometimes they give me macrobid/Nitrofurantin and it will go away but come back. This past round they prescribed Levaquin and it's pretty good. The discharge is down and the pain and inflamation are definately clearing up. I'm still trying to find out if this is related to an abundance of sexual activity or if another STD makes it become more active. thanks.
Avatar_n_tn I was trying to write it off as the toilet paper, etc! But then I became more and more worried, and began to research it and that's when I came across this website. After reading everything I decided to go see my OBGYN. He of course tested me for Herpes, and even though I had read everything that you have all been through, and knowing that none of your tests had come back positive, I was still nervous. He also tested me for a yeast infection.
Avatar_n_tn Yeah. Well that's what I hope-related to some kind of yeast thing, and not HPV-which would mean I have to wait until it runs it's course with me. My doctor actually told me to stick with the gold bond if it works, but that's treating the symptoms...sigh. I just had a run of anti biotics after a surgery, wouldn't that take care of any kind of BI/yeast/uti??
162948_tn?1205256292 I got my IUD out on Aug 5th and am ttc. I have had lots of spotting and maybe a period but nothing regular. I called my doc and they said that it takes 3 months before the hormones are out of your system. The mirena website makes it sound as though you can get pregnant anytime after removal. Any advice/stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
