macrobid and birth control

So me and my fiancé has unprotected sex 2-3days ago, I am on birth Control. Well I went to the doctors for get Antibiotics called Macrobid for my UTI. I am to get pregnant? Be that the Antibiotics make the pill unefftive the doctor said it won’t but I don’t know ...I’m scared I am not ready for a baby. Will I be fine?

Does the antibiotic macrobid used to treat uti's decrease the effectiveness of birth control? Because I'm on the pill and I shouldn't get my period for another week and I've been bleeding.. This makes me nervous because while taking macrobid I had sex without a condom, he pulled out, but I know that's not always a safe alternative either. I know that during early pregnancy bleeding isn't uncommon. I'm scared out of my mind..

Okay so I have been on BC for 3 years and I have never missed a pill I am a "perfect user". I am a complete worry wart so I have some questions and the likelihood of me getting pregnant. On the first week on my BC pack this month I got a UTI and was prescribed Macrobid for 5 days. My husband and I didn't have sex during that time and we used condoms for about 5 days after I was finished with the antibiotic.

I am 1.5 weeks into yaz birth control pills. Due to being on antibiotics (macrobid) I have had diarrhea about three times in the last 1.5 weeks. Am I any less protected?

Ugh. Doctors these days! I'm 18, and have never been to Med school, how come I know more about this than my stinkin doctor? Excuse me for feeling this way, but why can't I slap a stinkinf MD before.my name and get paid for.doing what they obviously aren't?! And when I went to pick up my medicine at the pharmacy, the tech guy asked me "Are you on birth control?" I'm 6 and a half months pregnant!

I take the mini pill birth control and did not do any emergency contraceptive afterwards because I’m on birth control ,and the concerns kicked in about the antibiotics possibly affecting the mini pill birth control. As you mentioned before about ovulation not happening right before your period and during it, that brought on a sense of relief! Again, thank you!

I am eighteen years old, and although the doctor wasn't thrilled about giving me mirena she did it. For the most part they just don't want to give it to young people because we may not all be in monogomous relationships (or at least that was what was explained to me). It was painful for the first week and I bled for probably a month after I got it, but trust me if you can make it past that it is great! I haven't had my period since then!

I was the same way with my 1st. I have 5 now though and have taken that and all my little ones were very healthy at birth. You will feel better after the 1st or 2nd pill.

I still have another week till my next period and I just started birth control about 3 weeks ago and have had intense soccer practices for 2 weeks now. I had sex about a month ago (right before I went on birth control) but we used a condom and I'm almost positive it didn't break. So I don't know whats wrong... but the blood in worring me.

Hi.. has anyone else taken macrobid for uti?? Is it normal to feel horribly sick with it? How did you all deal with the nausea? My doc gave me reglan but it doesn't seem to be helping and I'm hardly half way with macrobid.. I've been non functional while taking it and it's getting worse every day. Any advise on dealing with it will be appreciated..

I ended up being admitted into the hosp for 19 days. Evidently the Macrobid put my pancreatitis into an attack!! So it took this long to get it under control.

I am 16 wks. pregnant and my OB prescribed Macrobid for UTI, i had urinalysis and small amount of blood was noted. I told my OB that my urologist said that im always will have blood in my urine beacuse of hx. of cyst in my kidney so I requested to have urine culture prior to taking Macrobid, my OB is insistant to start the med. since it is going to take awhile for culture results to come back. so im already in my 4rt day of the meds.

I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. MY MENSTRUAL CAME 3 DAYS EARLY AND THERE IS BRIGHT RED BLOOD AND USUALLY MY MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS NOT THAT BRIGHT. I INITIIALLY WASNT DUE FOR MY MENSTRUAL UNTIL YESTERDAY I'VE BEEN BLEEDING SINCE THE 3RD AND IM STILL BLEEDING BUT NOT ALOT LIKE I WAS YESTERDAY AND THE DAYS BEFORE BUT THE BLEEDING HAS LIGHTENED. THE BLEEDING WILL COME OUT IN MY URINE I WANT TO KNOW WILL THE BLEEDING STOP?

yes I have been to the doctor and told that they are UTI's...and my husband has good hygiene so I don't think that's the problem...perhaps I am just more prone to getting them! And I'm not familiar with a macrobid...what is that?

I have chronic bladder infections and on long term Macrobid and still get frequent UTIs. I have had 3+ bacteria for the last 2 months despite Cipro and Levaquin. This morning the UTI is back with burning, frequency. They did not do a C&S before Cipro I think because it is always e-coli. What could be wrong with these 2 meds not working?....I am so tired of this pain and burning. I also have had lower back pain and groin pain for the last 2 mos.

I decided after day 4 to switch to Macrobid and it is day 3 and I still have mild urgency. What do I do?

I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... I found out tuesday that i have a pretty horribly UTI after swearing i had a yeast infection. I was put on Macrobid 1 pill twice a day for 7 days. This is day is day 3 of the pills and i was wondering how long until it starts working? i am not in nearly as much pain as I was, but the pain with urination is still there slightly and get worse at night.

around the 5th day I noticed I had hightened anxiety in the middle of the day and night where I just started to panic and thinking about my future and just kind of feeling hopeless out of the blue. Then last night and today I have been struggling with the worst anxiety and depression at random moments, unlike anything I have ever had. Luckily I am finished with it at this point but is this normal to have these strange anxiety/panic moments while on an antibiotic?

I've never had a uti. I'm 27 and this is my first one they put me on macrobid. It seems I'm using the bathroom every 30 minutes. Before I went to doc to see what was wrong I wasn't peeing like this...has anyone has this before? Did macrobid make you pee a lot and tired??

So anyway she went to the doctor and they said she had a uti, and gave her macrobid. She said they were also doing a urine culture, but its been two weeks and she has not mentioned any results.. Well in less than 48 hours of being on macrobid she said all her symptoms were gone.. MY question is.. Could her bladder infection have been caused by an std (chlamydia, gonorrhea), and if it was would the macrobid have gotten rid of her symptoms or cured it?
