Lyrica with xanax

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica with xanax

lyrica

Avatar f tn I was instructed to take my normal dose of xanax until my RX ran out, then immediately being the Lyrica for two weeks. I did, and it worked GREAT. Seriously. Lyrica is non narcotic, non addictive. It makes you feel very tired and a little lethargic- a little stoned. I would most definitely ask the doc about Lyrica. It actually binds to the same receptors as benzodiazepines, so it tricks your body into thinking you are still taking them when you aren't.
Avatar f tn That's terrible that you had so many of those symptoms that go along with Lyrica....I know that everybody is different but I'm also getting the blurry vision and watery eyes as well....it drives me crazy....
Avatar f tn I was put on Lyrica after going cold turkey off xanax 28 months ago. I have been on Lyrica for 2 years. I was on 225 mg a day and have slowly used water titration to taper down. I have gotten down to 25 mg a day and the symptoms are too high so I have up dosed back to 37.5 mg total. This has happened twice now. How long can I stay at 37.5 mg? I don't want to go higher but I don't feel I'm mentally strong enough to come off right now.
Avatar m tn Doubling just the first couple of times caused swelling in my mouth and around my eyes, so I dropped lyrica altogether. In no time I was hit with xanax type withdrawal symptoms: depersonalization, lack of concentration and dizziness being the most frightening. So, I asked to be switched to neurontin and he wrote out 300 mgs. three times daily for me.
Avatar f tn m currently on 13 meds and my only wish is that they come out with another medicine that makes me feel as good as Lyrica did but this time, it needs to last forever!! 8-) And YES, watch out for the weight gain! I did gain 20+ pounds on it! Good luck Kellic!!!
779797 tn?1263618235 how long were u on 1.5 mgs of xanax? that would have alot to do with answering ur questio...u tapered very quickly and benzos need to be tapered slowly with a physician's guidance and help...have u spoken with him to find a safe way to manuever this drug? getting off lyrica should help those symptoms as lyrica is a culprit to those side effects..percs can be as well if large enuf doses r taken...or even small doses if it dos not agree with u..we are all different...
Avatar f tn and im prescribed .5 klonopin 3 times a day for anxiety, and the lyrica for anxiety and the lyrica does help with the pain, it numbs it without the "high" feeling...i know everyones withdrawels are different, i think i can handle the physical part, its the mental part im more afraid of i think, like is it gonna make me feel dizzy, weird headed, anything like that? i dont know, ive never had to wd...
779797 tn?1263618235 The w/ds were bad, but i thought it would be worth it. I told xanax maybe twice a day (.5) to help with the w/ds. Had been taking xanax before that just when i needed it. Well its been 35 days off lyrica and percocet, but im still dizzy, out of it, no energy and losing more and more weight...down to 114, 5' 10'' male , 23 years..not feeling very healthy. Is there a chance that xanax could be the one causing all my problems?
Avatar m tn t be taking it again back to just the lyrica and lyrica only..il look at some natural substances to help with dele at night although I hope I can start getting atleast an hour or two on my own at night. Rest assure I'm not going crazy with drugs lol I was just really curious to the question I asked and the responses I got didn't really explained exactly what I was wanting to know.
1041953 tn?1259072690 Hey, all.... :) A quick summary of where I'm at - About three weeks ago I shared on the Substance Abuse Forum that my sole goal right now in ridding myself of the benzo monsters for good was to simply stick to my Klonopin prescription for now - to not abuse it, to not run short, and not to resort to using my husband's Xanax. I then eventually want to work on tapering down and off. For two weeks I was doing supremely well, and was secretly proud of my baby-steps victory.
Avatar n tn I have the same problem. i was on xanax 6mg a day for a long time and almost went to rehab for them. I have bottles and bottles of them in my room and looking at them and remembering how they made me feel like a zombie, gives me the strength not to take them and say I don't need xanax to run my life. however to completely contradict what i just said, i switched to klonopin 4mg a day and i feel much more stable, even mood swings.
1438550 tn?1283974158 The Lyrica could be a good choice to add with the Klonopin to help manage partial seizures as well as pain at the same time. It is not indicated to take as the only anticonvulsant to treat complete seizures. http://www.lyrica.com/epi_home.aspx Epilepsy can be complicated to treat, what work don't work for someone can work for someone else. Here's something you should read before visiting the doc. http://www.webmd.
630234 tn?1222279370 Ughhh, I feel like I am going out of my mind, last October I got into a really really really bad car accident, I have been on Lyrica, Norco, Oxycontin, Ativan, Xanax, Ambien, and also had Gastric Bypass surgery in september of 06' .... so besides all the supplemental vitamins and anxiety/depression from that... my doctors are cutting me from everything but my Ambien which I use to sleep.. I suffer from severe anxiety and have 5 pills of Norco left.
Avatar m tn I suffer from depression and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), with anxiety and panic attacks for two years. I suppose depression arised from the fact that both my daughters were forced to immigrate because of the economic crisis of my homeland. Anyway, i tried Cipralex, Cymbalta, Seroxat, Effexor even and the combo Effexor with Remeron (California rocket fuel) but without great results. In fact, some of these meds, made me worse. Only Xanax relieves me.
Avatar m tn I went to my Dr. and he told me to taper off 2-7.5 hydro's & replace them with 2 -- Lyrica 75mg. I'm still on 3--.5mg xanax as well as prozac /heart pills and prevacid .I never use more than prescribed .Should I just deal with life without meds .I'm having trouble going to NA & AA because I still feel like I'm useing. I have been clean of my addiction drug for 6 months . Am I fooling myself thinking I won't abuse these new " "Prescribed "meds.
1204763 tn?1265667777 Recently my new doctor diagnosed me with FMS.All started when I started weaning off the Xanax, there were some knots in muscles on my back,no big deal.It progressed and in a period of a year the pain was all over my body, even months long after no use of benzos. It was kind of rare.I slept fine, but the moment I opened my eyes my muscles, like programmed, started to contract and get stiff.
17365575 tn?1456040685 It is hell to get off of these drugs but the way to do it is much different from GABA drugs (bezos like klonopin and Xanax). Lyrica targets the GABA areas of your brain and more similar to this second set of drugs - also highly addictive. It's important to taper off these types of drugs than to stop abruptly. Hope this helps. You'll do great!
Avatar f tn No, not Neurontin or Lyrica. He mentioned Clonazepam because it's longer acting then Xanax but I'm scared....don't need any cognitive impairment. I'm very apprehensive toward taking prescriptions and such but might try the Trazadone this week. Yes, I am depressed/anxious and can't sleep. Feel like a walking zombie nowadays. Had to cut out caffeine and stimulants cause of panic attacks.
Avatar f tn long story short - my bf is seriously addicted to xanax. hes 25, been taking it for over 6 years. i never delt with any sort of addiction so i dont even know where to begin. hes been taking xanax for years. 3 years ago he was taking 3-5 pills a night, im not sure how many by day (i dont remember the mg but its the blue pill if it helps). then we werent talking so i am not sure what he was taking and how much of it.
Avatar m tn Kermit, I think you're thinking of another medication. Lyrica is not used in that manner. Lyrica is used to treat different kinds of pain...like those related to fibromyalgia, and other Neurological related conditions. You may be thinking of Lithium? Sean, a few things...., you definitely need to verbalize all of the above to your therapist first. Explain that you feel that you don't have proper coping mechanisms to use in those really rough moments.
Avatar f tn Some medications to ask about other than benzodiazepines (i.e. Xanax), are Buspar (buspirone) or another one that is fairly new is Lyrica (pregabalin). These do take time to work (several weeks) so they need to be taken on a regular basis. Maybe your doctor will feel more comfortable prescribing one of those. Increasing your dose of Savella will not help with anxiety. It is more for depression and fibromyalgia.
Avatar n tn The anxiety is constant and I control it with .5 mg. Alrpazolam (xanax)3x day. I have MS and Fybromyalgia. I take Lexapro 20mg morning, oxybuttnin for bladder at night, 5mg, Buspirone HCL 15mg twice a day for anxiety. Started Namenda 10 mg. 5 nights ago. Is the burning from the Fybro or MS? What do you suggest for the pain and anxiety?
Avatar f tn Hey guys, I was takin 40-50 pills of coricidin (the OTC cough med for people with high blood pressure), and cuz i couldnt get them one day I over dosed on xanax and ambien and lyrica. I take Lyrica for my fibromyalgia on a regular basis, was hospitalized and not detoxed medically was not given anything to help with the detox symptoms. Drank last night (10-30-10) 2 drinks and am a WRECK today (Halloween) going to a party tonight and taking my children trick or treating. I'm a mess.
779797 tn?1263618235 look up the half life of xanax and then you can calculate, how long, my concern is your FAST weaning, PLEASE IF ANYONE ESLE IS READING THIS NEVER EVER DO THIS!!!! EVER.. anyway back to you have you talked to your Dr. about this fast weaming off? and if you did FIRE HIM! hope you feel better soon, that dizziness and fatigue most likely is your body, you are a very very lucky person, that you did not get a SEIZURE or worse, This is not to scare you but to educate!
Avatar f tn m in the same boat except I cannot take the generic I have to have Lyrica. With the others I have trouble breathing. I have a damaged spinal nerve root from a failed fusion. An epidural did help way more than a nerve block. I also take tizanidine and hydrocodone. I used a E-stem and Dragontree (online) have some awesome pain patches. Carry on.
