lyrica with other meds

Besides Lyrica and Neurontin, what other pain med is really out there for Fibromyalgia? I have taken both. Loved the Lyrica. I had no pain but the side effects were terrible, including the two broken toes. My GP put me on Neurontin and I am up to 600mg as of last Friday. One 300mg in the morning and one of the same at bedtime. I still have pain but not quite as bad but u know it's still there. I have some side effects from it, too, especially legs and ankles swelling daily.

ve had experience with hydrocodone and none with the Lyrica, I was thinking of asking my doctor to reduce my daily intake as I can't tell if it's even doing anything for me. Does anyone have any experience with this drug? If so, did you experience this? Thanks!

Hello - Question is: What other drug or pain relief options are available for nerve pain other than anticonvulsants like Neurontin & Lyrica and Depression meds? Unfortunately it appears that anti-convulsants and depression meds that are used to treat nerve pain can cause hair loss. I take Neurontin for severe nerve pain at disc, low back, legs and feet. Nerve pain started immediatley after sed/ta disc surgery. Have taken neurontin for 8 years.

s have chosen Lyrica to help with the pain I now have in my feet until I see a neuro. My left foot feels like it is wrapped tight in duck tape. Right toes have all kinds of sensations, feels like I stepped on a lego. I asked the Dr why lyrica as it doesn't seem to be indicative for MS but he said there is some success with it. I know it is imperative to get a plan of treatment going but I am 8 hours away from the nearest neuro and there are long waiting lists.

As far as the difficulty you used to have with SSRIs in the past, I can honestly tell you that the meds from the past were not as good as the newer meds such as Lyrica, Savella and even Cymbalta. As time has gone on, the advancements in these medications has really been profound so we find that a lot of the side effects people used to get from the SSRI class of meds doesn't seem to happen as much with these newer drugs.

I would not stop the Lyrica and pace yourself with the benadryl.I used Nyquil without the decongestant for a few nights in the beginning to help me sleep. There is always the possibilty of the benadryl being habitforming not truly addicting. As long as you do not become dependant on the benadryl for sleep all the time I don't think there is no harm using it a few nights.

You have room to increase the Lyrica dose, I believe, by quite a bit. Also there are other meds which can be added in to increase the effectiveness of the Lyrica. You might talk to your doctor about adding a low dose of amiltriptyline at night or possibly adding carbamazepine. I know that carbamazepine can be used with gabapentin (Neurontin), so it "should be okay with Lyrica.

celebrex along with lyrica 150 mg. twice daily. Taken this for one month and no relief.

Yes you will have very bad withdraws from coming off lyrica with out stepping it down. This is one of thoes meds that you and your Dr need to work you off of. I ran out of Lyrica ( due to my insurance company ) but just not having it for about 14hrs I started to have withdraw these can include but are not limited to ( Sweating followed by feeling cold, shaking, insomina, and many more ) so please make sure that you talk to your Dr about coming off Lyrica.

SO HE GAVE ME 75MG OF LYRICA WELL, I FOUND OUT IT HELPS BUT THE DOSE IS TO HIGH DUE TO OTHER MEDS I AM ON.SO WE HAVE TO REDUCE.I WENT BACK TO SEE HIM.AND HE SAID IF WE CANT FIND OUT SOMETHING TO HELP I REALLY THINK A MRI IS THE BEST THING I THINK HE SAID.I WAS OK .WELL, I TAKE FLEXRIL 10MG AND LYRICA I AM DOING 50MG NOW JUST TO SEE BUT I HAVE NOTICED LYRICA IS MESSING WITH MY PANIC ATTACKS.I DONT KNOW IF ANY OF YOU HAVE HAD THAT HAPPEN.

My doctor has prescribed Synthroid 75mg started that 1mo. before tx. Cymbalta 30mg same time. Lyrica 75mg about same time. All began before treatment. Now, I've had trouble sleeping, so he gave me Lunesta 3mg. I am slow to check things out, part of the reason I could be in this trouble with Hep C, but I looked at the Lunesta and it says not to take over 2mg if you have liver problems. ? I don't take it every night. But this has made me question all the drugs I am on.

Lyrica is actually a very popular drug for people with fibromyalgia and alot of ppl get better pain relief with lyrica than they do with pain meds for fibro cause like I mentioned in the other post lyrica actually goes to the pain unlike pain meds that more or less mask the pain by going to receptors in the brain and not to the actual area where the pain is

has told me that I will never be able to come off this crap, but one way or the other I am going to do this. Today is day one with no lyrica and I can already feel the burning starting and i want to cry and scream. I do not have any support and no one will listen to me about whats going on with lyrica. I just want to feel normal again and function normal before lyrica. I feel like I am going insane at times. I am so tired of feeling this way. Can anyone help? Please!!

there is a light at the end of the tunnel - the tunnel is not a straight one and thats why you cant see it yet - do you take other meds - i dont know about lyrica - sorry - but can you call a pharmacist - im assuming there are more post re lyrica here - sounds like you read them already - wish i could help more

The one thing you have to be careful about with Lyrica is weight gain. Recently I have been losing weight like crazy, so maybe putting some on wouldn't be a bad idea LOL. Good Luck and take care.

I was on lyrica and it was a life saver for me with the pain. After about a year, I developed a nervous tick of humming incessantly, clearing my throat, sniffing and constantly moving. I also started having breast milk without being pregnant. My pharmacist and Dr took me off of Lyrica and the ticks slowed down and the breast milk went away.
