Lyrica vs percocet

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica vs percocet

lyrica

I still feel like I am 90 somedays, I am 49, but I am not bedridden on Percocet and muscle relaxers like I was before the Lyrica! Good luck and God bless!!
How long were you on the oxy and how much? Taking other opiates (percocet) is not the answer if you really want to get clean. Be carefull of the extras ( zanex, trazadone) as they are not the answer to your problems. If you truly want together off of opiates you must stop the extras and start getting by on the minimums. Sobriety is about not taking vs. Taking something else. This is a battle you can win if you take the correct actions. Get in NA and stop the insanity.
I've asked for Lyrica and it's never been prescribed, not sure why. You would think they would be more likely to prescribe that vs. Percocet 10. Nope, not in this area. I'll never understand it. I'll just keep irritating the snot out of them until someone listens. Thanks.
My aunt is addicted to Percocet because of this. She is also on disability. Will I eventually no longer be able to work? Are opiates the only route of treatment?
Now the problem is not that as it is an easy fix. The problem is they have had me on percocet, tramadol, xanax, lyrica, baclofen, and a couple others for a while, and today I find out I'm pregnant. It isn't my first child, but it is my first child I've ever conceived while being addicted to anything, and SCARED to quit!! I want to, obviously, but I don't know that c/t is the way to do it. My first OB told me that c/t is not ok in pregnancy for anything(smoking inc.
didn't work, oxycontin and percocet...i hate anything with oxycodone so i got off that. I went back on the fentanyl patch 75mcg and within almost 2 months i went up to 150mcg b/c my tolerance was so high. I detoxed cold turkey and it was the worst and most painful, scariest thing that ever happened to me. But, it was the best thing that i could do for my body. I still deal with a lot of pain but I will never touch those evil patches again. I am trying to find other ways to ease my pain.
Then was switched to Lyrica which seems to be more agreeable for me...One concern some have raised about the Lyrica which I ran across over in the Pain Management Forum is that for a few of those folks, the Lyrica had a bad habit of making them gain weight..Thats not a problem for me though. I have room for a few more lbs.. I do believe the Gabapentin, or Neurontin does help with wd's.
Injection vs. Oral or IR VS SR Oxycodone produces more euphoria and a faster onset of action! So, if you compare oral Dilaudid to Oxycodone, without question, Dilaudid(Hydromorphone)IR is less addictive than Oxycodone IR(Percocet). Even correct dosage of Oxycodone produces ''Morphine-like'' Euphoria With that said; Dilaudid(Hydromorphone) is more than twice as potent as Oxycodone and if a person injects Hydromorphone it too is highly addictive!
I have Shingles on my side, back, and stomach, did not catch it soon as I did not know what it was, so got a full blow break out, I am on Lyrica and Percocet ( the generic of) one every 6 hrs. feel ok pain for about 4 hrs. then hurt so bad! I never knew there was pain like this any where!!!!!!! I have been wondering if Neurontin is better then Lyrica? I am sending many prayers out to all with this HORRIABLE pain!
The pressure isn't in my throat, and I don't have heartburn. Right now, the doctors have me taking percocet (5-325) every four hours and bentyl four times a day. None of the doctors I've seen have any idea what's wrong. If my colonoscopy comes back fine, they said they'd refer me to a pain clinic. I don't know what to do or who I can turn to. Thank you in advance for any advice or information you give me.
Addictive dosing behaviors, the large doses associated to Spike the blood plasma level, vs the lower low dosing and more often which is the KEY factor to the physical changes the brain makes which cause dependency. Dependency is the actual physical changes to your body which cause withdrawal. Addiction is the BEHAVIOR of taking the drugs to get high, not as prescribed, and when not needed for clinical reasons. It is the un-manageable behaviors associated with lack of control.
some rx safe drugs r phenergan, muscle relaxers and drugs like neurontin of lyrica//altho repots of lyrica abuse r surfacing stay with ur..u can pull thur..
Look, I am taking Opana ER, Percocet, and Lyrica for pain and that doesnt include all the other meds for all the other symptoms... It is alot and I dont take it lightly. I take it to try and survive this ****. Dont let the non-understanding people make you feel guilty or bad about taking the meds that YOU think you need. Nobody else is in your body but YOU!
I was on Tramadol until I was 29 years old which is when I switched to Vicodin and then a year later, Morphine ER w/ Percocet for breakthrough pain and at the beginning of this year, I was switched to Opana ER w/ Percocet for breakthrough pain which has worked far better than anything I have tried before. I do worry about my tolerance but I also know that my son is now 6 years old and I already missed out on so much already, I don't want to miss out on any more.
I have suffered from serious back pain caused by spinal stenosis for about 8 years. for the last 2 years, i have been taking percocet in the strength of 5/325. I usually take 4-5 over the course of a 20 hour day. my Dr. writes me a rx for 120 every month. I am at the point where i want to stop relying on painkillers, and the anxiety that comes with " what do i do if i run out early?"....
He put in an artificial joint 3 years ago. I was given Percocet 5 mg. and took that post surgery for a couple of weeks. Then I was back on the motrin. Things looked okay for a short while and all of a sudden my hand pain got worse. The implant was a failure (the manufacturer's failure. failed in all patients across the country.) I'll try to shorten this part up. So since that surgery 3 years ago I've had 7 more. I still have one more to go.
I am taking a low dose of Percocet 5-325 3x's a day, for chronic back and neck pain from a MVA. The problem is that even though I take it the way I should, I have had 2 negative drug screens. What can cause this. Please help.
I am a 39 year old female with chronic pain issues. I have Fibromyalgia & Psoriatic arthritis. Not much of anything I have taken throughout the years has ever really helped my fibro. I am on medication for my arthritis & that does seem to help my chronic chest pain, however because the meds lower my immune system I am always having to stop the meds due to being exposed to illness or actually getting sick & then starting them again...
Kayleigh I also suffer with nerve damage and severe sciatica, are you on any seizure meds for this? Gabapentin or Lyrica can be very helpful. I've taken gabapentin for many years.... best to you all old and new friends....
Some people have had success in decreasing their pain by using anti-seizure medication like topomax or lyrica. I couldn't tolerate the side-effects, but that's a wholly different class of drugs to at least investigate. They seem to be most effective in people with nerve pain. Also, antidepressants can have a positive effect. Amitryptiline is an old standby for chronic pain sufferers. Like anything else, sometimes it helps, sometimes not.
By late the first night, I had stopped hitting the pump and was getting relief with percocet pills. The first week of recovery was kinda rough. My main advice is to make sure you have some help and let people spoil you! Don't try to do ANYTHING you don't have to. Your doc should be VERY generous with the pain pills so, if you're like me, you'll spend alot of time sleeping in the first week. At this point, one month later, I've stopped using the percs completely.
Help me!! I have been on Tramadol for about 2 yrs. At first it worked for my pain and made me feel very good and ontop of the world. After awhile I had to keep taking more and more until I was abusing it just to be pain free. It was a never ending cycle running out starting to go through withdrawls and then getting back. Well today is my ninth day off of it and I am in pure agony!!! I do not know what to do. I do not want to go back to it but, I can not live like this.
ketamine, clonidine, lidocaine, gabapentin that did help with my pain while on sub. I also had to take lyrica occasionally although I cant stand that medication, for some reason lyrica impaired my memory and caused some signifigant weight gain. I know of others that it has really helped with little side effects, but I now just take it as needed because the side effects for me were bad. Take care E1.
