lyrica

478403 tn?1266546009 Hi guys, I was just wondering if any of you have been on Lyrica and come off of it having withdrawal symptoms? I started weaning off of it around 3 weeks ago and a week into just backing off from 300mg to 225mg I started feeling exhausted and my blood pressure took a dive sending me to the doctors office. She said my system is not regulating my blood pressure like it should and she thinks it's the Lyrica causing it.
Avatar f tn it was the shocks that first sent me to the hospital the hospital put me on nortriptyline 10mg and it worked well until i got sick months later then all the sensations and the pain came back i went back to the hospital and the doc said the nortriptyline still might work but gave me a script for lyrica ( i took 450mg a day) to try. the lyrica did not work very well.
1187243 tn?1268397011 what are the symptoms of fibromyalgia? how long do you have it? what medicines are used to treat it?
Avatar m tn Will swelling and itching go away by continuing to take Lyrica. I started in my hands and feet. I have been taking it a month and the symptoms are daily but are mild and seem less and less. Today, it is only swelling on the top of my ear with slight itching. Should it continue taking it, because i heard that discontinuing could cause a seizure.
5100586 tn?1363644754 I have a question regarding lyrica withdrawal symptoms ................ I am currently suffering with this and am on day 38 with no end in sight from these godawful symptoms ............... in fact, it has gotten worse in the last 48 hrs, which is so depressing, as I thought I would improve as I distanced myself from the drug ...
5333788 tn?1366569346 You need a lot more neurotin to equal Lyrica. It is similar but neurotin is much weaker than Lyrica and you have to take a ton to have the same effect. I preferred Lyrica but it was too expensive. I have learned that all of these drugs have withdrawals however we don't abuse them like opiates.
Avatar f tn I am supposed to take 3 Lyricas (90 mg each) a day: a.m., noon, and pm. But because I am an addict and dumb, I started taking 6 at one time because it makes me high. So I took anywhere from 12 to 18 a day. Now I am out and feel horrible. I already withdrew from oxys and that was the worst of the worst. But I didn't know Lyrica would cause withdrawal symptoms. Have you ever abused Lyrica? Thanks for writing back. I really appreciate it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken lyrica for fibromylasia and found increased pain instead of decrease?
Avatar f tn Many medications for Fibromyalgia, if not tapered properly will cause withdrawal symptoms if stopped abruptly. I would call your doctor immediately and report these symptoms as soon as possible. Have you called your doctor to report your symptoms as of yet?
Avatar f tn i just started lyrica yesterday...75mg...only taken it twice...could it ALREADY be helping my symptoms or is the "good feeling" just in my head?
Avatar f tn Besides the panicky feeling that has started from taking this drug, I also have horrible stomache issues when taking lyrica. It effects my stomache much like an NSAID would. In short, I would say lyrica may be a savior for some but it has been a nightmare for me.
210982 tn?1280983895 Hello! My Dr prescribed me Lyrica and I have been readin about this drug, but I can't seem to find anything telling me what is in it. Does anyone know the ingredients? I was told it was a non-narcotic drug but then the leaflet says that it can be addictive and do not stop immediately..blah,blah, blah...does anyone know what is in this stuff?
398624 tn?1266269449 Hi! I am currently taking Lorezapam 1mg, three times daily. I have SEVERE anxiety. I have generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder. The Lorezapam BARELY takes the edge off. I haven't left my house in over 2 yrs except to go to the doctor or to the store. My psychiatrist recently changed me to Lyrica since the Lorezapam is not working. I haven't started taking the Lyrica yet tho. New meds always worry me. Has anyone taken this for anxiety?
Avatar n tn Does anyone know for how long Lyrica withdrawal symptoms last for? I was on Lyrica for two and a half weeks and the side effects made me quit cold turkey. 3 months later I still have withdrawals!!!
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
333535 tn?1227018609 I took Lyrica for 2 yrs before they approved it for Fibromyalgia. I have been off of it for 7 months now have lost 40 lbs (without trying) and I don't notice any increase or decrease in the amount of pain I suffer. I have since been taking Neurontin for the leg pain and it works without the side effects that Lyrica caused.
Avatar m tn My dr just gave me Lyrica. I have been taking 4 hydros 10/500 a day for several years. I very seldom use more, I took the first Lyrica last night and feel pretty sluggish today. Has anyone on here taken this and had any luck with it? I have read some bad things about it which I guess all of these pain killers have bad side effects. I just want to know has it helped anyone cut back on the other pain killers.
Avatar m tn Getting off Lyrica may cause a number of discontinuation side effects. Quitting Lyrica suddenly can result in withdrawal symptoms including insomnia, headache, nausea, diarrhea and flu-like symptoms.
Avatar f tn Is anyone taking Lyrica for their Fibro and if so is it helping and what doseage are you taking? I am medicine sensitive so I was started last Sept. on 25mg and have just now made it up to 225mg.
Avatar f tn No, I haven't. I've used the norco to help with the pain. But since it will be a factor, I don't want to be miserable. I'll need something to help it, might as well start? I have a RX in my cabinet I've never used.
1334998 tn?1300674856 Some of the symptoms you mentioned do sound like fibromyalgia, but all of them are also possibly caused by hypothyroidism (as I explained in my response to you - I had the same symptoms and they have gone away now that I am on levothyroxine.) So, I am wondering if perhaps you have been on Lyrica to treat symptoms which are actually caused by your hypothyroidism.
Avatar f tn com/threads/lyrica-lawsuit-D77155.htm or the Lyrica Survivors group on Facebook. There are a lot of stories about problems we've had with Lyrica.
Avatar f tn I took Lyrica also but my hands, and feet swelled up. I was switched to Gabapentin and it works real well. Pretty much the same as Lyrica without all the side effects. I take Narcotic pain relievers but don't hum. This is something you need to discuss with your doctor. There are other medications they can put you on that work as well as Lyrica.
Avatar m tn Doubling just the first couple of times caused swelling in my mouth and around my eyes, so I dropped lyrica altogether. In no time I was hit with xanax type withdrawal symptoms: depersonalization, lack of concentration and dizziness being the most frightening. So, I asked to be switched to neurontin and he wrote out 300 mgs. three times daily for me.
1380526 tn?1292839385 how far post op r u ?.....keep in mind u will have symptoms return as u heal.....but if the symptoms is new or worse than b4 surgery u should be contacting ur dr. I am not sure how lyrica works either, but if it is nething like Topamax u have a adjustment period....it took 2 weeks until I felt something....that didn't feel like a side effect. Still not sure what it is doing, I might if I stopped tho...but U may want to give it a bit more time.
