lyrica

Avatar f tn I have been on Protriptyline 10 days now to counter the side effects of Lyrica and the combination of Protriptyline & Lyrica has been like a wonder drug cocktail for my severe nerve pain in my right foot and lower calf. I have had nerve pain for 3 1/2 years ever since I herniated a disc at S1/L5 and a Lower Lumbar Discectomy was done 11 days after disc injury. Back pain and upper right leg sciatic nerve pain went away completely but I still had severe sciatic nerve pain in right foot.
Avatar m tn I was given the medicine Lyrica, which is for fibromyalgia, which I do not have, and that medicine takes the low back pain away, as well as in my feet! I have been taking it for nearly a year now, and I am not only more comfortable, my mind is able to focus better because I'm not distracted by so much pain. So, I think you should ask your doctor to give it to you, and see if it helps.
Avatar m tn Anybody taking rivotril and lyrica together? It seems to work well for me.
Avatar m tn But she said in Europe the FDA approved Lyrica for anxiety treatment. Its supposedly non addictive. However reviews i have read, users complain of weight gain and increased appetite which my weight is one of my anxieties. Has anyone else tried Lyrica before for anxiety? Its used here is in the US for fibromyalgia, but I took 2 and didn't feel anything so I'm not taking them.
798555 tn?1292787551 Well.. as of two days ago I started a low dose of Lyrica 50 mgs a day.. it was a tough decision but I can't deal with the pain anymore. I'm hoping I won't need it in a month or two. Seems those of us who are dealing with the neuropathy (polyneuropathy) when our levels get off I'm not so sure we recover as quickly as others. I am better and my levels may need one more decrease but it's been a painful road to say the least.
1735424 tn?1357433558 I had some gastro pain a couple of weeks after vic was introduced (week 10), this resolved after a couple of weeks. HGB, Platelets, WBCs and ANC were all normal prior to tx and became quite low. Rescue drugs were necessary to keep going. I was in a trial and completed a 43 week tx 6 months ago. It was tough but ok as I pretty much expected. Good luck with your treatment, what week are you in?
956292 tn?1334054869 I hope I said that right....and said Lyrica or Cymbalta..He said these 2 meds are successful in being used for pain but he does not want to put me on ALL kinds of meds..If he can treat both issues with 1 he can be satisfied, if not we will look at the other option....He also told me a story of a study of a patient with neuropathic pain from diabetes and said this med was used and worked well for..... So...follow up in 3 months..AND do not hesitate to call me if anything happens....
Avatar f tn You are explaining my diagnosis exactly-I began Cymbalta and Lyrica February 2008.It truly helped the nerve pain and brought my muscle pain down to almost manageable. The medication that you are on I would think would be extremely dangerous. They are very addictive and they are only a stop gap for the pain you are going through. Depression is a real waste of time and it pulls you down into a dark and deep. pit. I believe when we grieve for a loved one we are grieving for ourselves.
Avatar m tn Will swelling and itching go away by continuing to take Lyrica. I started in my hands and feet. I have been taking it a month and the symptoms are daily but are mild and seem less and less. Today, it is only swelling on the top of my ear with slight itching. Should it continue taking it, because i heard that discontinuing could cause a seizure.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
Avatar m tn Does anyone take lyrica and if so, has it made a difference resting at night? Thanks.
Avatar f tn i just started lyrica yesterday...75mg...only taken it twice...could it ALREADY be helping my symptoms or is the "good feeling" just in my head?
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
5164523 tn?1366525959 so for awhile when i missed the lyrica, i thought oh, i have vicodin...but as Vicodin off, more and more the lyrica helped.....but when I missed doses of everything..., It was by my wife keeping a diary, that I realized I was missing so many just a few days or even one...the Oh! went on... And now I have taken 3yrs without feeling the sick, sweaty feeling I felt when I missed dose.. I did not gain weight ..
Avatar m tn Hi, Lyrica shouldn't be addictive at the low doses used for neuropathy. My grandmothers been on it or the other derivative, gabapentin, for years. Just take it at low doses. It works wonders for treating nerve pain though.
237152 tn?1206651036 My pain doc says neurontin is a much safer drug than lyrica and wants me to stick to the neurontin.....lyrica does have a euphoria associted with it with use for some....especially at first....
Avatar n tn I have b een taking Lyrica for by back for several months. Lyrica is also for nerve damage. I have been 3 days without it(300mg a day) and I must say it truley does help.
Avatar m tn has anyone ever been perscribed Lyrica for cronic pain. If so how much do you take, and how long did it take to notice any results. I started taking 50MG's 3X's a day. I started last Tuesday, and haven't noticed any difference in my pain. any feedback would be great.
719785 tn?1232901518 The dr. took me off of Cymbalta because I was getting no relief. He put me on Lyrica. When I got my Rx filled I had to show my ID. I'm guessing Lyrica is a controlled substance? Does anyone know why or what it contains that makes it a controlled substance??
