lyrica

372680 tn?1228161610 Hi all, hope you guys are awesome and enjoying Easter/Passover/etc. I had to pop in and see if any one else taking or that took Lyrica ever experienced rash... I've had a horrible rash that's scaly, red and will puss up, almost like a burn. I had it for a few days before I saw a doctor (I'm never without a rash, so I wasn't concerned at first) and she said it could be viral or it could be an allergic reaction to the Lyrica I started at the end of January.
Avatar n tn I was taking Lyrica and while in the hospital for cellulitis due to Lymphedema, I developed a severe rash extreme pain on sole of left foot, disorientation causing fall to concrete, etc. The Lyrica was stopped abruptly. I was placed on Levaquin for the Cellulitis. The rash seemed to subside after two days. Then it came back worse than before! I was released from hospital a few days later. After about a week at home, I noticed a 'piece of leather' protruding from my sandal.
Avatar f tn celiatic sprue, and arthritis. All of course resulting in depression and sleep disturbances. In addition to the sunburn rash I have on a daily basis to my chest, I have just recently been diagnosed with a skin disease known as granuloma annulare, cause unknown, but possibly related to a diabetic rash. I also have had a reoccurring out break of extreme itches from head to toe. I'm also experiencing nausea, along with tingling and burning sensations to my toes and fingers.
Avatar m tn After a few days, a rash appears as a band or patch of raised dots on the side of the trunk or face. The rash develops into small, fluid-filled blisters which begin to dry out and crust over within several days. Apart from lyrica, take antihistaminics like Benadryl and use calamine lotion on the itchy areas. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn Although i had only one small red spot, I experienced three days of extremely intense back and uterine pain prior to my doctor visit. On Tuesday, a rash, wrapping around my middrift ,appeared. The pain intensified to the point of no return. (I suffered nerve damage from a botched angiogram in July/09, so I know pain well.) My question is: Would the Valtrex (antiviral) be ineffective because it was administered after the intense pain had begun?
Avatar n tn m a regular athlete who just came down with the shingles for the second time in 15 years, this time I got the rash on my left arm, from the wrist up to my shoulder, rash following the nerve path, I sort of knew what it was and started taking 800 mg of Acyclovir four times a day (it was the weekend and wouldn't see a doctor until Monday) I had read about this, My brother in-law M.D.
Avatar m tn I however had a doctor prescribe Lyrica about a month ago and its really taken care of pain that radiates to my shoulder and elbow. Not this numbness/sensory pain issues has me wondering if I have a spinal compression issue still to deal with or is it Lyrica? Any ideas would be great. My pain Doc says to contact my surgeon because something is not right but I have about had my limit with the surgeon. That was my 3rd spinal fusion surgery in Sept.
1218873 tn?1300091216 when I was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy of unknown etiology my doc put me on gabapentin up the dosage slowly to 1500mg well when i upped the dose I had a rash from head to toe so discontinued the gabapentin and went to lyrica it was a godsend though I would have to up the dose every 6 months or so most of the bone pain went away , I now currently take 300mg 3 times a day which I am currently maxed out on dosage.
Avatar n tn I am allergic to it. (my rash is seen in my photos if you need it). For me, the side effects are worse than TN itself for me, but others have said it's life changing. Other people have listed Trileptal (Oxcarbazepine), Neurontin (Gabepentin), Elavil (Amitriptyline) and Lyrica (Pregabalin) as some alternatives. I am currently on Lyrica + Cymbalta. I can't say that it's working but still playing with dosages.
1396846 tn?1332459510 Well since the doctor upped my Lyrica, I have been having serious bouts with mood swings. I am not sure if it is from the medicine or if it is just from everything in general. The increased dose really helps me but I am not sure if I want to keep up with these mood swings. I will be happy one minute, a bear the next and the slightest little thing will make me cry.
Avatar f tn I have been unable to take Lyrica due to side affects. I have fatigue, headaches, and joint pain often. I also have edema often in my feet and hands, but always thought I may just retain water. I never considered Lupus until the other day. I have had a bright red dry rash on my neck, upper chest near my collar bone and on my arms that does not go away with Hydrocortisone Cream or Benadryl. It will show up on my inner thighs at times too.
97654 tn?1214348650 Hi Kim First I would like to say that I am so sorry that you're going through this in the first place..... I also wanted to chime in here because I've had a horrible experience with Solumedrol as well.....Back in March I had extreme leg and groin numbness and went on IV Solumedrol for 3 days....I had a nasty reaction to it, but it DID take away the numbness and vision problems almost immediately....Well, within 48 hours anyway.....
9472198 tn?1556168148 I have a painful rash on my buttocks {butt crack actually LOL} for about 2 months & my doc sent me to a dermatologist. He recommended beta/clom ointment & I have used it every day after thorough cleansing....as well as alternating with triple antibiotic cream. The only difference I can think of is that my doc switched me from Lyrica for my neuropathy tp Gabapentin. I don't know if the Gabapentin is making it worse. Can anyone recommend anything for this rash to go away?
293157 tn?1285873439 hi I have tried neurontin up to 2700mg then broke out in a rash head to toe and my doctor switched me to lyrica and it has worked the best for my severe neuropathy pain. i have gained 20 lbs but I couldnt function if it wasnt for this drug. I am now on 225mg of lyrica twice a day though I find myself uping the dose every 6 months or so due to breakthrough pain it has been a great drug for me.
Avatar m tn Hello there. I hope you are well. I'm 28 years-old and texting you all the way from South Africa. On April 16th 2016 we threw a bachelor party for a close friend of mine. Later that evening we went to a strip club, we chilled for a while, till the AM's. Around past 4am, just as we were about to leave, my friends pressured me into going up with a prostitute, I was very reluctant, ended up going with her after having being convinced.
Avatar f tn I was just put on Lyrica, the doc thinks I might have Fibro...I have all the symptoms that go along with it...I have noticed though over the last week since I've been taking it that my anxiety has increased and it feels like my heart is beating faster....I have always been on Xanax for anxiety ( last 4 yrs. ) but I haven't had to use it as much until lately...or could this just be a symptom of Fibro since it's really flared up due to the cold weather?
Avatar m tn Other problem are rashes on groin, elbow and legs, color changes form white to brown, for these issues Dermatologist gave Ala-Quin Cream. I have also posted my rash pics in medhelp but didn't get any advises. my rashes pictures can see on http://www.medhelp.org/user_photos/list/691217 Neurologist mentioned EMG report is normal and ordered new test for Paresthesia, that's not done yet. Endocrinologist ordered Celiac test, lab results didn't come yet.
Avatar m tn Will swelling and itching go away by continuing to take Lyrica. I started in my hands and feet. I have been taking it a month and the symptoms are daily but are mild and seem less and less. Today, it is only swelling on the top of my ear with slight itching. Should it continue taking it, because i heard that discontinuing could cause a seizure.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
Avatar m tn Does anyone take lyrica and if so, has it made a difference resting at night? Thanks.
Avatar f tn i just started lyrica yesterday...75mg...only taken it twice...could it ALREADY be helping my symptoms or is the "good feeling" just in my head?
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
5164523 tn?1366525959 so for awhile when i missed the lyrica, i thought oh, i have vicodin...but as Vicodin off, more and more the lyrica helped.....but when I missed doses of everything..., It was by my wife keeping a diary, that I realized I was missing so many just a few days or even one...the Oh! went on... And now I have taken 3yrs without feeling the sick, sweaty feeling I felt when I missed dose.. I did not gain weight ..
Avatar m tn Hi, Lyrica shouldn't be addictive at the low doses used for neuropathy. My grandmothers been on it or the other derivative, gabapentin, for years. Just take it at low doses. It works wonders for treating nerve pain though.
237152 tn?1206651036 My pain doc says neurontin is a much safer drug than lyrica and wants me to stick to the neurontin.....lyrica does have a euphoria associted with it with use for some....especially at first....
