lyrica overdose medication

Lyrica is the one medication that I know of that is made to help with the pain of Fibromyalgia. I am on Lyrica myself for Fibro and it has helped me but I must say that although it doesn't completely take the pain away, it does take away a lot of the pain. It allows me to function like a "normal" person although I really do have to watch what and how much I do. I cannot do things that I used to do, unfortunately but at least I can function. :) For this, I am thankful.

If Lyrica worked for you, then start the fight with the insurance company. Either find a doctor that will write you the letter for it, or talk with your doctor about the fact that it worked, and you need his help for recommendation. Insurance companies suck for this, but I have fought with mine countless times for medication, and they usually give in. Dont give up! I would ask your doctor why he wouldn't recommend the medication if it was working?

I am on Lyrica for burning feet caused by neuropathy. When standing, I am having dizzy spells and risk the chance of falling. I'm not sure if it's the medication or the MS. Does anyone else have this problem? This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/798433'>MS and age...</a>.

s. I took Neurontin for a long time before Lyrica came on the market. With Lyrica, I had alot of swelling my legs and a craving for sweets. Whether a craving for sweets is a side-effect, I doubt the drug maker would admit it. But I did gain weight. And weight gain is my worst enemy. I have fought being over-weight most of the last 40 years. Neurontin works well for some people, so do anti-seizure medications.

I did a little better on Neurontin as far as less weight gain and less laziness, but I switched to a sister-medication known as Topamax. It is an anti-seizure medication just like Lyrica and Neurontin, but it doesn't have the same type of side effects and it helps with the nerve pain and migraines that Fibromyalgia can cause.

I take about 18 Lyrica a day. Please help me. I will die from overdose or severe depression. I have no one to talk to. My teenage daughters are suffering with me.

hi everyone, my Neuro gave me some Lyrica to use for my pain in my legs, I took my first pill around noon today...75mg..he said to take it for a week..then go up to 150mg..two pills. well, not long after I took it, I felt horrible...like I was drunk or stoned or something strange...I didn't make sense.. felt horrible.. then I fell asleep on the couch for a few hours. I didn't even notice my legs..didn't care either..strange feeling....

I started taking Lyrica approximately 6 months ago and I've noticed my vision changing. Is this a possible side effect? Also, is it best to take a short acting narcotic pain medicine or a time released pain medication? I'm finding that the Norco I take lasts approximately 3 hours, at best and that is very irritating. Suggestions?

Could any one tell me if Lyrica or Amitriptyline would dull down my brisk reflexes? One of the reasons my neuro considered my symptoms may be MS was because I had brisk reflexes. I have been to see the neuro rehab team and in there summary it said my reflexes were normal. I actaully don't remember the dr doing them.They refered me to a neuro physio, who pointed out the way my right foot reacts to being scratched underneath is far from normal.

If given a choice without cost factors pros and cons of Gabapentin versus Lyrica for long standing neuopathy pain in my back, legs and feet from surgery over 10 years ago...Any advise appreciated..

I was taking both Lyrica and Ultram. I found that should I miss a dose of the Lyrica the pain was intensified and I didn't like the cognitive difficulty that it caused. I recently discontinued the Ultram after being on it for 3 yrs. Honestly, I am still achy and in pain, but I now see that the Ultram did little to begin with. I never had the dosage increased during the time I was taking it. Take care.

Hi, I have had fibro for 9 years, it started with my last pregnancy. As you all know some day s are better than others. I was wondering what types of meds others have tried. I take Neruonton and vicodine. I want to get of the last one if I can. I can't take lyrica. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to MedHelp. I also take percocet along with neurontin (gabapentin). The gabapentin is very similar to lyrica. I drink coffee 4-5 days per week and I haven't encountered any issues and I have been on percocet for almost a year and gabapentin for almost 2 years. I don't think there are any severe reactions when coffee is mixed with percocet or lyrica or both.

so can i take 20 mg of paxil er day and 60 mg of cymbalta and i also have diabeties so the cymbalta helps the place od lyrica because i cant afford lyrica so can i stay on both im very very very depressed

Ok lets get to my question. My doctor has put me on celebrex, lyrica, gabopentin and tylenol 3. for the past two months she put me on percoset. I was supposed to take two a day but went up to 4 or 5 a day not just to releive the pain but for the feeling it gave me. I went into the hospital 2 weeks ago with pnemonia. I was released after 3 days. Thesecond day I was home I overdid it again with thepercoset. My husband went to bed and about 10 mins after that he heard a bang. I had passed out.

I wake up typically 2 to 4 times per night, usually have to use the bathroom when I do, then go back to bed, usually able to return to sleep, but again, I do NOT typically enter REM sleep (dream). Is Lyrica safe to take for the other conditions I have, and if so, what are the side effects and dangers? I do also have an allergy to pennicillin and a few grasses, trees, foods, etc. Any suggestions as to what I can try next for sleep?

I'm just guessing here, but isn't it in general a bad idea to give a person *instructions* on how to overdose on a particular medication? Bixby didn't say, "My doctor has me taking x mg of this medication. Could that be too close to toxicity levels?" Bixby asked how many mg of that medication, alone or in combination with another drug, would cause an OD. Am I alone on this? Doesn't this set off alarms for anyone else?!

can taking methadone and percocet togeather cause overdose wich can lead to a stroke? If your addicted to percocet coming off of them can it make you really angry at anyone tring to help you get off them? can taking to much percocet mixed with methodone and xanix make you very disfunctional slured speech and come in and out while in a conversation and fall asleep all the time?

Hey guys, I was takin 40-50 pills of coricidin (the OTC cough med for people with high blood pressure), and cuz i couldnt get them one day I over dosed on xanax and ambien and lyrica. I take Lyrica for my fibromyalgia on a regular basis, was hospitalized and not detoxed medically was not given anything to help with the detox symptoms. Drank last night (10-30-10) 2 drinks and am a WRECK today (Halloween) going to a party tonight and taking my children trick or treating. I'm a mess.

What are your current thyroid hormone levels? Be sure to post reference ranges with results, since ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. You should be getting tested periodically for TSH, Free T3 and Free T4. Do you have other symptoms of over medication, such as weight loss, diarrhea, tremors, etc. Do you have Hashimoto's?

I GET ELECTRICAL SHOCKS ALL OVER TOO. SINCE TAKING LYRICA, THE ELECTRICAL SHOCKS HAVE DIMISHED SOME, BUT THE BURNING SENSATION IS BECOMING UNBEARABLE AS IT IS SOMETIMES CONSTANT AND ALL OVER!

What med do they have you on..I tried Lyrica first three weeks ago with very little help. Now stopped and starting Tegretol..hopefully it will do the trick..Glad to hear yours is going well..That is great...

Definitely discuss this with your doctor, and tell him/her exactly what you took. Sometimes, the doctor can also give you a prescription for pain medication for your tooth while you wait to see the dentist. You need to be careful with combining medications as some contain other drugs (for example, Nyquil usually contains acetaminophen (tylenol). You can overdose without realizing it by taking tylenol and Nyquil together. Good luck and hopefully you can get your tooth taken care of sooner.

has anyone ever been perscribed Lyrica for cronic pain. If so how much do you take, and how long did it take to notice any results. I started taking 50MG's 3X's a day. I started last Tuesday, and haven't noticed any difference in my pain. any feedback would be great.

If I try to exercise the veins only become more painful. 2 months ago I attempted suicide with a pain medication overdose but only ended up sick for several days. Can a baby overdose off of hydrocodone, oxycodone , or Roxycodone through breast milk if the mother takes the right dosage, or slightly more, only once a day and not everyday. If he breastfeeds while its in the mothers system, is sleepiness a sign of overdosing? If so, can l the overdose possibly death happen after the mother is no longer on medication?

Since synthroid takes a long time (weeks) get into/out of your blood, you should be okay for this time, but if it happens again, don't try to make up missed doses; just start taking your med daily, like you normally would.
