Lyrica maximum dose

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica maximum dose

lyrica

1318483 tn?1318347182 Hi Addi I am sorry for your discomfort. It would seem to me that if you were on that high of a dose of gabapentin (well over the maximum recommended as far as I have learned) then 75 mg of Lyrica 2x daily is a Very low dose. I was on 2700mg gabapentin daily before we gave up and I am up to 200mg Lyrica 2x daily. So you can see the comparison there. I don't know if your new pain in your feet is a side effect.
Avatar m tn The maximum dose for lyrica pregabalin is 300mg twice a day. I'm taking 1200mg a day and it's incredibly beneficial, taking the right dose doesn't have the effect that destroys the pain in my stomach from anxiety.
Avatar f tn Increased incidences of fetal structural abnormalities and other manifestations of developmental toxicity, including lethality, growth retardation, and nervous and reproductive system functional impairment, were observed in the offspring of rats and rabbits given pregabalin during pregnancy, at doses that produced plasma pregabalin exposures (AUC) ≥5 times human exposure at the maximum recommended dose (MRD) of 600 mg/day.
Avatar m tn Yes, in animal studies Lyrica causes decreased fertility in doses much higher than maximum recommended dose in humans. This means that the dose prescribed to you should not cause any fertility issues. Also, at times the drug may cause side effects at lower doses. So, if you are to continue on Lyrica, it would also be best to plan parenthood early. You can also be switched to another drug. However, yes, please ask your doctor regarding this.
382218 tn?1341181487 Elavil, for the first little while, but nothing major. Neurontin - well I was up to 3600mg/day, the maximum dose, and it never ever made me sleepy. Others here have reported problems at only 100 - 300mg/day. I'm now experimenting with Lyrica; coming off the Neurontin slowly and going up on the Lyrica. GP prescripted up to a max. of 150mg per day of Lyrica. Right now I'm at 100mg Lyrica, 1800mg Neurontin, and 50mg Elavil.
526311 tn?1229286330 t know how much I can help but my hubby takes Lyrica 600mg a day which is the maximum dosage. He is also on oxycontin, both for severe back pain. The oxycontin he craves and is addicted to (currently tapering down from) but the Lyrica he does not crave at all and sometimes doesn't take any at all during the day.
Avatar f tn Is it possible for one missed dose of Lyrica to wreck me?? I notice that if I forget to take it at night I get night sweats and don't sleep well until I remember that I forgot and get up to get my pill. Last night I was out cuz I forgot to pic up my script. I could not get up this morning. I could not drive to get my script. I have never felt this horrible. I changed my neuro appt from next week to tomorrow. When hubby got home we ran to get my Lyrica.
5164523 tn?1366525959 It will take 2-3 weeks to notice a big difference in the pain. That seems like a low dose. Lyrica comes in other mg too. My nerve pain is always worse at night, unfortunately I can go back on Lyrica for a while. A word of warning about Lyrica, it caused me to gain weight. Just thought I would pass on the info. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I had been on it for 5 years and had increased to maximum dose without relief. They withdrew the Lyrica and gave me 60mg Amiltriptaline and I am now pretty much nerve pain free in my stump. Morphine I was taking because the pain was so bad but once the Amiltriptaline started there was not a need for it. Thank you so much for answering my post.
511671 tn?1214148100 I have taken both neurontin and Lyrica. I was on Neurontin for approx13 years. I finally reached the maximum dose with no pain relief. My doc has now given me Lyrica. I took it 3 months last summer, and it was marvelous. I didn't have any depression, and I had lots of energy. I could even exercise and swim. I stopped taking it because it did make me gain weight, and I am diabetic....need to lose not gain. So then he switched me to Tizanidine and Citoprolam.
600857 tn?1230057770 It has higher binding at lower doses and its binding percentage decreases at lower doses (but you still are delivered more milligrams of this medication as the dose increases). The maximum dose of Neurontin is generally 3600 mg in a day in divided doses (1200 mg three times a day). I have had patients on higher doses, as much as 5400 mg in s day. One must also go up slowly on the dose to limit the side effects, which are generally dose dependent.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the info. I didn't know it was a nerve pain med. The dose may be related to the other meds i'm on. I take a pretty high dose of oxycodone. However my pain is not nerve pain. i've had 7 major abdominal surguries, 4 in the last 16 months and have a ton of adhesions.
1649807 tn?1301506020 Most likely it is the Lyrica. I had problems while on Lyrica with dizziness and sounds in my ears. Also, I coundn't sleep. I am back in pain and rather be than all the other side effects.
483733 tn?1326798446 According to the prescribing information on the Pfizer/Lyrica website, the maximum daily dose for Lyrica for fibro is 450 mg daily. When I was on it a few years ago, I didn't realize that was the maximum dose, but that was the dose that I was on. I'm not sure if it's inevitable that the Lyrica will stop working to control your symptoms, but I suppose it's like any other medication that you have to take long term - it could happen.
195469 tn?1388322888 I am not having any allergic reaction. I have been on a titrated dose of Lyrica for three weeks. It's only when I took the maximum dose that my doctor wanted me on, that I became kinda ill. Never experienced anything quite like it and glad that it's over. The Lyrica I believe, is extremely over-rated as a good drug for Nerve pain. I have not heard anyone, as yet, tell me that this is a Miracle drug for pain. Just the opposite as a matter of fact.
Avatar f tn I have tried ammitryptilene, neurontin, lyrica and cymbalta but none of them has really helped. Does anyone have a suggestion about other treatments that have worked for them?
Avatar m tn When I take my morning dose I just literally pass out for a couple of hours. My evening dose has the opposite effect - I take it and am awake for hours. Any suggestions?
131817 tn?1209529311 , although he warned me I would be sleepy as I upped my dose of Lyrica. I now beleive him and am upping it a pill at a time. Yep, I am sleepy, but at what cost? I won't have the debilitating pain. Yes, it will be debilitating to not be awake and functional for awhile, but what is my choice?
Avatar f tn My Dr and I discussed putting me on Lyrica (which I was on a few years ago, but stopped taking, don't recall why) and I called my pharmacist because she told me about the huge side effect of weight gain with Lyrica, it's almost guaranteed, and my pharmacist told me that Lyrica is a dirivative of Neurontin, which has a much lower incidence of weight gain, and they are nearly the same medications. I then decided to go on Neurontin instead.
Avatar n tn I just started taking Lyrica for sciatic pain secondary to herniated discs. I've taken two 75-mg doses so far. On the second night, I was awakened by excruciating pain in my right leg, worse than what I was having pre-Lyrica. Has anyone experienced an increase in his/her nerve pain after starting Lyrica?
Avatar f tn Hi, I have had 3 failed back surgeries and now have an SCS unit installed. I still take Lyrica and pain meds. Lyrica is suspost to make the nerve endings (dead) or just not as touchy. I have been on both Lyrica and Neurontin and the Lyrica does help me some. Not as much as my Dr wanted but it gives me about another 5-10% pain reduction. It does not help everyone even if they have the same problems.
Avatar m tn t touch it, BUT the medicine Lyrica killed it overnight. It has to be started lower dose, then upped pretty significantly in the first three months, then maybe every few years. You might consider having them do another scan of your lower back... even an X-ray is better than nothing, probably a change has happened. Also, tightening your tummy muscles takes the strain off the low back, but not situps, rather just pull the stomach in tight for a few minutes, several times a day.
