lyrica kidney problems

My daughter had an auto kidney transplant in June of 2008 due to nutcracker syndrome. The surgery was successful but the pain traveled with the kidney. Her surgeon warned us this happens in 50% of the auto transplants he has performed for unknown reasons. My daughter has been on multiple drugs over the last two years during diagnosis and treatment and is currently on Lyrica and Percocet.

I am taking 750mg of lyrica twice a day and my stomache is so bloated and I'm in so much pain. I drink also I drank 1/2 pint of vocka and a pint. I cut back alot on my drinking, But is that whats causing my stomache to be bloated and if so what can I do? I'm taking the lyrica like this for opaite withdrawls like swim.

My eyes blureed before Lyrica. The headaches came after Lyrica. My dizziness left with Lyrica. The common denominator here is that I was taking Neurontin before changing to Lyrica. I found that when I took Nerontin regularly I put on weight, but the pain and flu like symptoms decreased enough to notice the difference.

m also experiencing nausea, along with tingling and burning sensations to my toes and fingers. My concern is if this can be diabetes or a kidney related condition or just symptoms resulting from my preexisting conditions?

I have used Lyrica (pregabalin) for 3 months so far and it works for my thoracic back pain and neck pain. Lyrica is an anti-convulsant. Before trying it, or one of the other anti-convulsants (eg gabapentin, carbamazepine, etc), get your doc to check your blood pressure, cholesterol, kidney and liver function, weight, blood cell shape and white cell count. That gives you a solid baseline for comparing against later on, ie when on the medication.

Hello! My Dr prescribed me Lyrica and I have been readin about this drug, but I can't seem to find anything telling me what is in it. Does anyone know the ingredients? I was told it was a non-narcotic drug but then the leaflet says that it can be addictive and do not stop immediately..blah,blah, blah...does anyone know what is in this stuff?

Do not take Lyrica if you have had kidney problems, or have had heart problem including heart failure. My CREAT was 1.31 and BUN 36 when she ordered it and she knew it. Currently I take 15 mg Morphine every 6 hrs. and 5mg oxycodone as needed for breakthrough . It's not doing the trick anymore. I need a raise. This prescription is a year plus old.. Thanks in advance for any replies in this issue....

it hurts so bad when i wear any shoe ,if i do it has to be a sandal.even in the winter i have to wear this kind of shoe.

hi, My yorkie is 14 & half years & about a month ago was diagnosed with kidney problems. Benji did weigh 7.3 pounds in september but has lost a lot of weight this last month. He has episodes of eating one day then not eating the following day. But this last few days he just dosn`t want to eat anything at all. Iv`e tried him with all the food i can think of. He is on medication for his kidneys but he just isn`t getting it, as he will only take it when it is crushed up in food.

gfr measures your kidney function.. low filtration rate is suggestive that your kidney has not been working very well.. creatinine is fairly reliable indicator of kidney function.. so the high value of your creatinine may be because of your kidney.

Thanks for your post, I took the Verpamil for the first time last night. The does was 120mg, about 30 to 45 minutes after I took I woke up with pain in my neck. Did this happen to you? My blood pressure has been very good for some time and i hope this doesn't cause any problems. I may try the Lyrica again i really didn't take it long enough to see if it would work. I'm to the point now that I'm willing to try any thing.

With kidney problems, fatty liver, diabetes, and bipolar disease, what can my brother-in-law take for severe nerve pain in his legs? His PCP believes it's sciatica from his spine problems, although I'm sure the diabetes is also a likely culprit. Is there any medication he can take for the severe pain he's in?

Rhuematologist gave medication LYRICA 75mg(2 times per day) but i have got only 25% relief.I have stopped LYRICA and Rhuematologist,suggested CYMBALTA.I have used CYMBALTA only for 4 days and 4 days i haven't sleep and stopped using CYMBALTA.Again continuing LYRICA twice a day (2X75mg). ALso i do physical exercize everyday. Dr Mark ,all my problems with thyroid or fabromyalgia ? Since last 5 months my TSH is 0.05. I need suggestion and help on my problems .

I'm sorry to hear you're still not feeling well.....I know how bad it feels to have adverse reaction to opiates. I try several ones and they always caused me more problems than relief. Last time I took tramadol for kidney stone pain which is not really a strong opiate and I ended up in the ER with urine retention. So now in top of feeling sick to my stomach they're causing me other bigger problems. I'm trying to stay away from opiates as much as I can.

The worst pain ever. 6 months on Nortriptyline, several on alpha lipoic acid, now on Lyrica. Lyrica works! Still numb but pain relief. Questions: Concerned about kidneys and new insurance doesn't want to cover Lyrica. They want me on gabapentin. I've been on Cobra for over 2 years and am really fed up with jumping through hoops while paying up to $2000 per month for cobra, copays, etc. Lyrica works. How hard should I fight? I'm getting tired of the BS.

The showing of ID depends on your pharmacy and location and possibly controlled drug. There is alot of insurance abuse going on and many doctors are even asking for ID's now before they will even see you. So just keep in mind alot of ID showing is to prevent insurance fraud. People are desperate and are resorting to all sorts of things.
