Lyrica jerking

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica jerking

lyrica

Avatar n tn I have been on pregablin for two years and started violently jerking and actually kicked a hole in my bedroom wall in my sleep. My Neurologist changed my script to Lyrica believing that the symptoms would improve however they are not any better. The jerks and spasms exacerbate the pain i have with Ankylosing Spondylitis. painful neck back hip leg foot. excruciating at times. the symptoms get much worse when I have auras caused from migraines.
Avatar m tn My dear, I feel for you. It's quite miserable, I'm sure. I have all the symptoms of Fibro, so being a nurse, I finally got up the nerve to ask for Lyrica. Lo and behold, I'm a new person. I'm on 50mg twice/day which actually is below the recommended dose which is 150mg/day. But, I feel wonderful. My worst symptoms were severe shoulder and arm pain which worsened when I would raise my arms. I was miserable. I hope you have a good doctor because you really need one.
Avatar f tn I was put on it for nerve pain instead of Lyrica which was too expensive for me. I was also put on baclofen for spasm at the same time. May be it works together? It took a little longer to start working then Lyrica which worked the first day. I think it was really a couple weeks. I really notice if I do not take it.
307874 tn?1242755798 I forgot to mention Im still having the jerking my head goes back and forth lightly! Ive been having cramps in my legs and toes and hands like charlie horse or something! I use to have them alot when I was a child. The doc put me on lyrica and it seems to help some with the jerking movements. Ok do I need Magnesuim or potassium?
669241 tn?1236264344 I've been told that it is not addictive. They use Lyrica for Fibromyalgia. For me, it did not work. I used it for about 3 months and had too many side effects and could not function at work with it and had to stop. But, it did work for my pain. Good luck!!!
307874 tn?1242755798 You're not taking Lyrica, are you?

522415 tn?1242937755 Anyone with FM have involuntary jerking or shaking? This has just started for me. I am waiting for new insurance to get tested for Lupus or MS. I was just curious if anyone else has this? I also have numbness in arms, hands and feet. I also got the strangest rash on my arm yesterday. I don't know whats going wrong with my body!! I feel very alone and scared. I see my Internal Med. doc Thursday, but I am worried... Any advice or comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
405614 tn?1329144114 OK, Is it possible that the Restless Leg Syndrome I was diagnosed with from a sleep study several years ago might have been an early symptom of my maybe possible MS? It recently occured to me that I list RLS as a neurological symptom on medical forms, and that as far as I know there is no real know cause for RLS. Low iron has aggravated it, but it wasn't low when I was tested for RLS.
Avatar f tn I don't think this is being cause entirely by the Lyrica withdrawel. When I went off Lyrica, I had the nausea and sweats, but it didi't last that long. I did have my doctor give me 50gm dosages and tapered down from that, but again the "side effects" of going off were only short-lived. How long have you been trying to taper down? How bad are the symptoms? IF they are bad enough to interfere with your daily life, then you need to get checked out by your doctor.
Avatar f tn My question is...I have noticed over the past few days that I am having ticks and jerking in my neck and arms, especially at night. I am waking with severe numbness in my left arm and both hands. Do you feel that this is related to stopping Neurontin ??? Also, are Neurontin and Lyrica the same drug? I have been hearing this, but have not found anything to support this in my google search. Do you have any opinions about the use of Neurontin for opiate withdrawal? Nauty..........
1401215 tn?1376423242 I also get them a lot when I have relaxed and just ready to fall asleep and the a limb or something flies up in the air... I know that it is normal somewhat to have jerking when you fall asleep but this is all together different. I am on Lyrica and I think it has made it somewhat better b/c when I went off of it for a few days b/c I hadn't filled my script...my body went absolutely nuts!!
230948 tn?1235844329 Hi All seen the posts on involuntry limb moments and the great info on them i get violent jerking of my muscles that in my stomach pull me forward in my wrists and flick y hands or my leg will jerk out these our painless annoying but copable and get worse with tirdeness what is this name is that myclonus (cant spell) i also get bouts of body spasms 5 in 2 yrs that last up to 3 weeks or come and go and our very painfull and involve all my muscles at once and have me bedridden and rest helps an
Avatar m tn I too suffer from chronic pain, a doctor put me on lyrica, now mind you, I was allergic to gabapentin, lexapro, and cymbalta! I actually called Eli Lily first and they told me you wouldn't give me any problems! Well I got dyskinesia within two weeks, jerking of the body, hazing in and out not able to read unable to walk.
Avatar f tn 2010 severe abdominal pain effecting all quadrants began. 2011 I began having muscle spasms, and jerking in the limbs and jaw. According to the doctors, I have Knee Clonus, hyperflexia, and Hoffman's sign. Findings: All symptoms will last for months at a time, and then ease up and then continue. I have seen several physicians including a Neurologist, Ob/GYN, GI, and a Rheumatologist. This is what they have found.
773646 tn?1239225659 Hi to all - w/ greetings to my friend Khiba - I have tried Lyrica and had a reaction of involuntary jerking. I didn't have tremendous results with neurontin, but it did help at high doses. I'm currently involved in the vicious trap of narcotics, but have MS as well as Sys. Sclerosis so have joint pain that's really bad on top of the MS pain. Also osteoporosis and spinal problems causing pain.
Avatar n tn It does not progress. Some medications that can help with the pain are Lyrica (PreGablin) and Neurontin (Gabapentin). Both of these are helpful and which one is better depend on the person. So if you have fibro you could ask your doctor about these. I hope that this answers your question a bit. If you have more questions feel free to ask. Also just so you know there is a forum on MedHelp for Fibromyalgia, they might be able to answer questions as well.
Avatar f tn About two weeks ago I had an episode of uncontrollable jerking of both arms and hands. It lasted about 10 minutes or so and I haven't had the experience since, but am concerned about what would cause this. I am wondering what would cause this to happen?
Avatar n tn If any one knows more info, I have experienced severe lower leg and feet and hand pain and persistent muscle tightening, hyperreflexia, IBS, ringing in my ears, and constant leg jerking, both morning and night, since 2008 after a C-spine surgery. My current neurologist, 3rd one, is looking into polyneuropathy. I had looked up some symptoms and see that I fit the bill 100% but I am really feeling ill from being tired, and light headed that this may be due to Celiac Disease.
195469 tn?1388322888 I have been given Lyrica by my Neuro. I have been going up slowly on the dosage for three weeks. I am now at 150 mgs. twice a day. I feel terrible. I am dizzy, my brain is in a complete fog. I am having typing simple sentences. I am running into walls, I feel like I have to lay down. This stuff is making me sick as you know what. Please give me some advice. This can't be normal. It sure isn't helping the pain. Is this going to go away with more time or what is going on.
Avatar m tn I suffer from chronic pain and had allergic three actions to gabapentin, lexapro and cymbalta, then I switched pain doctors not happy, he suggested lyrica I said I wouldn't go on it until I spoke with Eli Lily they told me there is no chance of me having the allergy, I was only on it for two weeks and that dyskinesia kicked in, I was on a low dose, only one pill, because I was or he having problems with it. Now I'm in lyrica brutality withdrawal!
Avatar m tn No matter what my muscles will feel somewhat tight/taunt most of the time - I suspect that part of that is from a side effect of the Lyrica since when I stopped taking it and only took tramadol for a month it got way better, but then I can't take tramadol on a consistent basis since it's very addictive to me.
Avatar n tn I was also having a small problem with anything placed too close to my face, I would jerk backwards, my legs and arms were jerking in a weird overreaction to things and I was telling my neuro and getting more scripts. I finally said enough, after 4 years of treatments and it was getting worse. i used a wheelchair to shop and sometimes at home. I was using a cane and a walker. By then things had progressed to violent full body spasms.
1749417 tn?1331996992 I take Baclofen for my legs jerking and it helps a lot...The nerve pain could be helped with Lyrica or Neurontin... In other words we don't have to suffer... If the neuro you are seeing doesn't seem to want to help you then I would ask my PCP to recommend a new one... I hope I have helped but I'm sure others will chime in to help also... Remember we are always here any time you need to just talk, rant, or ask a question...
Avatar m tn Will swelling and itching go away by continuing to take Lyrica. I started in my hands and feet. I have been taking it a month and the symptoms are daily but are mild and seem less and less. Today, it is only swelling on the top of my ear with slight itching. Should it continue taking it, because i heard that discontinuing could cause a seizure.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
