Avatar n tn I developed fibromyalgia and chronic anxiety after my treatment for hep c. I believe it is a long term side effect from the combination treatment I received and I was wondering if anyone else developed either of these after treatment? This discussion is related to Are there long-term neurotoxic effects from Ribavirin??-getting worried here.

Avatar n tn Anti-seizure drugs are the conventional treatment for fibromyalgia. These include Neurontin and Lyrica. Nobody really knows how these medications treat the symptoms (particularly the aches and pains) of fibromyalgia. These medications can help some individuals with fibromyalgia. But these drugs also have serious side effects.
735919 tn?1236444549 I am 30yrs old and i am taking Cymbalta for my Fibromyalgia pain but i have to stop it do to my insurance. It works REALLY well for my pain. I wanted to know if anyone is taking Lyrica for their pain and if it works.
Avatar f tn I have beem doagnosed with fibromyalgia. I was searching Google for an explianation for swishing noises when I move my eyes from side to side, and I found someone with these symptoms on this site. I have, like them recently stopped taking lyrica, so I wondered if it could be this? I have nausia too. I can't live with the side effects of lyrica any more because I am a carer for my partner, and need to have my witts about me all the time.
299889 tn?1257339377 I am asking for a friend who suffers terribly from fibro, she doesn't do the computer thing. Lyrica didn't work for her as it caused lots of memory problems. She is at a loss, what are some medicines some of you take and the type of doctor you go to?
Avatar f tn Also, you need to quit smoking if you want to have an effective treatment for your Fibromyalgia. Remember, Fibromyalgia is treatable without side effects but you need to find the right doctor and minimize all stresses.
Avatar f tn Anyone know of any other meds without narcotic that have been helpful for treatment of symptoms? . Currently having sever flare-up...

10704670 tn?1412128715 ve been taking Lyrica for fibromyalgia for several years, and have been taking a low dosage of just 75 mg. once nightly. For over a month, now, I've been having achy joints in wrists, elbows, and feet -- along with ache behind my eyes, nervousness, and worst of all, "flu-like" feelings going throughout the body. I usually wake in the morning feeling much better, but by late afternoon or evening, all these sick feelings set in.
Avatar f tn Hey there I'm new to this site, but I've had fibromyalgia for about 5-6 yrs. It took my Dr about three mnths to get a diagnosis. Since there is no diagnostic test for it. Its a process of elimination. I know your frustration. Your insurance sounds whacked! Please tell its not an HMO ?! Lyrica is not an experimantal drug for this treatment the FDA approved it for the treatment of fibromyalgia. I took it for a few yrs.
Avatar f tn I am sure you will be fine then. You'll just have to wait it out. The withdrawal symptoms will go away eventually. Is he offering you an alternative medication instead? Perhaps Lyrica would be a better option for you since Savella didn't work out? Lyrica is also approved to treat Fibromyalgia and it's also an anti-seizure medication.
Avatar n tn Instead medications in the class of skeletal muscle relaxants, SNRI anti-depressants, Trazodone, Lyrica and Savella are the most common ones prescribed for fibromyalgia. And yes, the SNRIs are pain relievers. I suffer from both fibromyalgia and severe migraines. My pain medications for my migraines do nothing for my fibromyalgia pain. So you could look into it. Good luck.
4074293 tn?1351896693 Hey folks, I was wondering if any of the fibro patients have been on Lyrica and how well it worked or didn't work. I have started this drug and so far the only thing I've noticed is that I am 90% more tired, and mentally slow. I'm just looking to see if anyone had luck with it as far as pain. Thanks!
470168 tn?1237471245 Her website is www.tacklingfibro.co.uk. She is reputable as our support group was visited by the regional director of the fibromyalgia association in the UK who gave a testimonial of how she has recovered. By recovered I mean that she still has to stick with the diet etc, but all her symptoms have gone and she is now back in work. My symptoms are going also (over 9 months). I no longer wake up exhausted or fall asleep after dinner.
Avatar f tn So I am now looking for either an entirely new medication or something I can take on top of the Tramadol to help ease the pain. I've tried: - Savella (can't remember why this didnt work) - Anti-Epileptic Medications; Lyrica and Gabapentin (made me suicidal, had to stop) - Palexia (wasn't very effective) - Cymbalta (wasn't very effective + excessive sweating) I shouldn't take NSAIDs because it makes my asthma more severe. Lidocaine helps but it's $15 for 2 patches...
Avatar m tn Lyrica was recently approved for treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder in Europe. Thats why my doctor gave it to me. Xanax put me on a rollercoaster and 6mg wasn't cutting it anymore. It doesn't do anything at all. I feel more stable on 4 mg klonopin but i still have anxiety. I don't want to take Lyrica because of the weight gain. I am extremely self conscious and run 40 minutes a day to try and lose the weight i gained on effexor xr. worst drug ever by the way.
1565420 tn?1304572548 I take Remeron for depression along with a low dose of Lyrica and Trazadone for sleeping. I do know that once the depression was under control that I could handle the pain and issues much better. I'm thinking of getting off of it but scared to mix things up since I've got the fibro managing pretty good right now.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed and treated for my fibromyalgia by a pain management doctor several years ago, and then my primary care doctor continued that same treatment. My daughter was seen, diagnosed and treated by a Rheumatologist, and my mother was treated by a Rheumatologist. I went to a Rheumatologist for the first time today, I finally have insurance after 1 1/2 years without.
Avatar m tn After being on Aropax for some time ,I developed symptoms of Fibromyalgia. The drugs side affects did cause mild muscle akes and muscle spasims but nothing bad until I got the Fibro myalga. I ran an experiment with my Doctor and weaned off them and the Fibromyalga went over a few weeksin a decreasing fashion. I then went back on it again and the problems returned.
Avatar m tn I was given the medicine Lyrica, which is for fibromyalgia, which I do not have, and that medicine takes the low back pain away, as well as in my feet! I have been taking it for nearly a year now, and I am not only more comfortable, my mind is able to focus better because I'm not distracted by so much pain. So, I think you should ask your doctor to give it to you, and see if it helps.
