1318483 tn?1318347182 He wanted to get some blood and agreed with me when I told him I thought it was time for pain management. I went to my first appointment for pain management and feel very comfortable with him and look forward to him helping with my pain. He scheduled me for a nerve test on my right arm (I have only had them done on my legs) and started me on Tramadol, 50 mg every 6 hours. Now back to Saturday (for those of you still with me!!).
901222 tn?1399142874 I was in the same boat and I don't know if this will work for you but it did for me. I got on lyrica 100mg. It's non narcotic and helps withdrawal. I think it's actually for fibromyalgia or nerve pain not really sure but I got shot in the face and jumped a year later and they hit me in the jaw with a sledge hammer and it works good for me.
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
3156069 tn?1343495783 all of this information yesterday at our appointment and he does not see any need to increase or change medications. He has been my Dr. for pain management for a year now and all I get from him is that at my age, I am too young to need surgery for this. I have been through everything he has requested of me (Physical Therapy, all kinds of medications, MRI's, X-rays etc.
Avatar f tn ve just recently been diagnosed and am taking Lyrica, Ryzolt and tramadol-(as needed). I am looking for an alternative for pain relief instead of the tramadol.
Avatar n tn Have you tried asking for Neurontin or Lyrica? These are anticonvulsants frequently prescribed for nerve pain. Otherwise perhaps a visit to a doctor specializing in Pain Management will be helpful.. I too have doctors that won't prescribe pain killers but will prescribe the above mentioned meds. Good Luck.
728965 tn?1266373645 I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried going to a pain management specialist for fibro? If they even know how to help. Every time I go to my reg. doc I pass by an office and have been tempted to check it out. I don't even know how that works with my insurance... Anyhow, whats everyone's experiences with these guys if anyone has??
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed and treated for my fibromyalgia by a pain management doctor several years ago, and then my primary care doctor continued that same treatment. My daughter was seen, diagnosed and treated by a Rheumatologist, and my mother was treated by a Rheumatologist. I went to a Rheumatologist for the first time today, I finally have insurance after 1 1/2 years without.
Avatar m tn It helped with my nexk pain but did nothing for my leg pain and the nerve damage in them. My pain management dr prescribed it to me for FM and nerve damage pain. I hope u feel better.
491030 tn?1242424766 I was put on Lyrica for Fibromyalgia pain, and it helped with the pain, but it caused me to be out of it and tired and dizzy all the time. I finally had to quit it. But, I have heard it helps a lot of people. So, at least give it a try. A lady I work with takes it and it works for her! Good luck!!
Avatar f tn When I take Neurotin(Gabapentin) and it stops working, I start doubling up. I have a strong tolerance to medication as well. Just to start I have to take 2 at a time, but when it stops working I have to take 4. I'm on Oxy Morphone for pain, Neurotin, and Robaxin. Even with all of that, I still have breakthrough pain.
Avatar f tn how would lyrica help with pain management for L4-5 disc herniation? I've been using 50 mg twice daily for about 2 weeks now and I'm not sure that it's helping.
Avatar m tn has anyone ever been perscribed Lyrica for cronic pain. If so how much do you take, and how long did it take to notice any results. I started taking 50MG's 3X's a day. I started last Tuesday, and haven't noticed any difference in my pain. any feedback would be great.
Avatar n tn A person who is taking a daily regimen of MS-Contin and Lyrica for chronic pain due to auto accident/nerve damage. The MS-Contin is the only thing that has worked well. Person discovered she is pregnant and is afraid to continue taking the meds/afraid to go through pregnancy/breastfeeding without meds. Are there any options other than suffering through 9 months?
1619123 tn?1298828488 Lyrica is a great med for your type of issue too bad. Pain pills will not help you in the short run. Go to a good reputable Pain Management doctor who works with your specific problem, and ask this question as it is your life on the line. Blessings.
237152 tn?1206651036 There are several meds that were originally made for seizures and now are used for pain management. I forget the names of them right now but my wife is on one that works well for her, but didn't help me at all. Try it and see, is all I can say.

872994 tn?1247865206 Maybe you should ask your pcp to refer you to a pain management doctor? There are a lot of different ways to treat pain depending on type. With Fibro Lyrica helps me. Some people can't take Lyrica, though. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Hi all- I am a 27 year old female suffering from a very severe case of fibromyalgia. It has left me bed ridden for weeks at a time and when the flare ups are bad nothing works. I have prescriptions for morphine and oxycodone but on bad days they don't touch the pain. I can't do massages because the fibro pressure points are too painful to be touched.
Avatar m tn She has also doubled my meds so I am now taking for the burning 800mg Metformin (4) times a day and (2) Percocet 512 every (4) hours for pain. I am supposed to start pain management where someone can dial in the meds to stop the pain but I can't get them to call me back. Thanks for your concern!
