lyrica

Avatar m tn Will swelling and itching go away by continuing to take Lyrica. I started in my hands and feet. I have been taking it a month and the symptoms are daily but are mild and seem less and less. Today, it is only swelling on the top of my ear with slight itching. Should it continue taking it, because i heard that discontinuing could cause a seizure.
Avatar n tn is it possible that 300mg LYRICA COULD CAUSE ME TO FEEL LESS TENSE AND MORE CALM...INSIDE? I'VE BEEN TAKING IT FOR MONTHS AND FEEL LIKE I'M "ON SOMETHING"!
Avatar n tn Does anyone know for how long Lyrica withdrawal symptoms last for? I was on Lyrica for two and a half weeks and the side effects made me quit cold turkey. 3 months later I still have withdrawals!!!
358486 tn?1294776388 I have taken Lyrica for 3 yrs now, but I saw a Rheumy 2day that suggested that I switch to Celexa. Unsure what 2 do?? Anybody here take Celexa? I was told it helps Fibro Pain & also Anxiety & Fatigue too...that would be Great! but I am still hesitant to try the switch. ANY info or help learnin' more about this drug would be Greatly Apprecited!
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
Avatar f tn how would lyrica help with pain management for L4-5 disc herniation? I've been using 50 mg twice daily for about 2 weeks now and I'm not sure that it's helping.
Avatar f tn He prescribed Lyrica, which my insurance declined to pay for so I tried Neurontin for a month. It helped a lot at first, but was less effective as time went on. It also made me short-tempered, almost downright mean. Today is my first day on the Lyrica. I've read that it causes a lot of weight gain, which I'm less than thrilled about, but if it stops the pain it will be worth it.
539209 tn?1225972263 Gradually various side effects went away, altho I am still careful with driving. Lyrica does work very well for some pain, and for me, to wake up for the first time in years without dreadful low back pain, so bad that it used to take me an hour to get out of bed, was a miracle. Also, Lyrica's dose does have to be increased for some, but it does plateau fairly quickly. I also take it with Codeine, an opiate and controlled substance, which works in good synergy with Lyrica.
669241 tn?1236264344 Are any of you taking opiates for fibro pain ? I'am taking lyrica , but they have mentioned opiaates.
Avatar f tn I went to my PMP the 1st ofJanuary, 2012, to get my MSContin and Oxycodone scripts. He gave me a random UA test for MSContin, Oxycodone (for breakthrough pain), and Lyrica. This is the first drug test from him in 2-3 years. I had been taking less of my MSContin and Lyrica because of being in the"donut-hole" of Med.D script plan and , also trying to resolve co-pay of MSContin-generic back down to tier exception lower cost co-pay.
Avatar n tn lyrica is mostly for nerve pain..I just had fusion...lyrica is of little help..side effects are not great..dizziness, loss of concentration etc..
Avatar f tn I would ask your doctor for a smaller strength tablet, so you can go off from 100mg once a day to less than half for about a week, then the small dose every other day for a week, then if you are still having symptoms of withdrawal, talk to your doctor. I was able to go off of it in a smaller dose of every other day for about a week. I forget what milligram it was, but it was a fairly easy withdrawal.
428506 tn?1296557399 The Lyrica worked incredibly well for my diabetic neuropathy and fibro, but I started gaining lots of wieght. Also, the cost, even with my co-pay, was too expensive for me. I'm going to try neurontin. What side effects should I keep watch for? I think my dr had planned on keeping me on Lyrica indefinitly if it worked. But then again I've been on some meds for 10 years, so if it workes, don't give up on it! But if you do stop, your symptoms will come back.
Avatar f tn I was on Lyrica for some time and gained TOO much weight...making me feel worse and ache more....I need something without that side effect....have been on Cymbalta too ....will savella take the place of both?
Avatar n tn I was looking for an alternative and discovered Lyrica, but then I saw the warning about addictive behavior. I don't want anything that will cause that feeling to return ever again. Are there any fellow addicts out there who have had experience with Lyrica?
1380526 tn?1292839385 I have severe facial nerve pain on the right side that won't go away...had it on the left side before my Chairi Decompression in 2009. My GP prescribed Lyrica...Gabapentin, Nortriptyline, Vicodin, etc weren't working...Been on the Lyrica for almost a week now and doesn't seem to be working either. Should I be seeing some results by now, or is it too soon? Anyone else had Lyrica for nerve pain like this? Or has something else helped? It is a horrible pain several times a day...
Avatar m tn I agree with Februarystars. I took 8-10 imodium twice a day and just took less & less a day because you can have a few withdraws from it. My recommendation is to google "imodium for opiate withdraw". It helped alot with my physical withdraws like rls which was always my breaking point. I took an ativan to help me sleep & I also went to the dr for an anti depressant because I've needed one for a while. Just don't take 20-30 imodium at one time, way less works great.
Avatar f tn I guess its good to gradually increase due to not knowing how it is going to affect you but when I increased the last time it was a 225mg increase at once and I was fine, the only thing bad about lyrica for me is the weight gain. Normally all I have to do is take one bite of food and it attaches itself to my body now all I have to do is look at it. But I am working on that.
Avatar f tn I was already on lyrica and I have found that if I've having a very bad day I can take an extra lyrica and it does help. It seems to help with the anxiety.
Avatar f tn I will let you know. I am on Lyrica and have been for about a year. I am 47 and also been on Topamax for my seizures as well. Too many other AEDs over the past 5 yrs to name . Did the Lyrica cause my "spot" on my MRI that wasn't there on my last mammogram in JUne of last year? Who knows? We will see what my biopsy reveals next Wed.
359574 tn?1328360424 Yes here is a Lyrica user who changed from Gabapentin which initially made me put on 14 pounds which I then worked very hard to lose. I have been on Lyrica since the summer and the weight is creeping up and I have put on another 7lbs...but think this may also have something to do with Christmas. I think that many drugs can affect our weight and that it is important to be aware of this, keep exercising when possible and watch your diet.
1041953 tn?1259072690 Hey, all.... :) A quick summary of where I'm at - About three weeks ago I shared on the Substance Abuse Forum that my sole goal right now in ridding myself of the benzo monsters for good was to simply stick to my Klonopin prescription for now - to not abuse it, to not run short, and not to resort to using my husband's Xanax. I then eventually want to work on tapering down and off. For two weeks I was doing supremely well, and was secretly proud of my baby-steps victory.
Avatar m tn 150 mg at night, and it has really helped alot with the pain. Im also on norco for my back / neck pain, but the lyrica has been a great help to me. However it is expensive if you don't have insurance. Good luck to you all who suffer from this. I know quite a bit about neuropathy if I can help any one.
Avatar f tn I have been on lyrica for diabetes neuropathy for around 2 years. Its really helped with my pain but I have put on at least 10 kilos and feel really uncomfortable with my weight. My appetite is through the roof which means I'm also struggling with my sugar levels. I usually have such control over my diet but in the last year I just cannot control my cravings. has anybody switched from lyrica to topazam and had success. With pain as well as less weight gain?
Avatar n tn I took lyrica for a while and never had withdrawal and have never heard of anyone withdrawaling from it. Lyrica is a non narcotic med it does not goto the receptors in your brain so there should be no withdrawal because it actually goes to the pain and calms nerve pain by helping I guess you would say calming down a extra sensitive nerve that causes pain. I could very well be wrong about there being no withdrawal from it but I'm bout 99.
747443 tn?1233024111 celebrex along with lyrica 150 mg. twice daily. Taken this for one month and no relief.
Avatar m tn So taking lyrica isn't a substitute for hydrocodion in any way? None of the same substances.
