Avatar m tn Thanks for the advice. Doctor is struggling to help. I have seen 2 different specialists and neither can find anything physically wrong. All the tests are clear however, I have this debilitating pain that starts in my hip, and runs down the outside of my right leg to my knee. It was first treated as IlioTibial Band syndrome, but didn't respond to any physio, or exercises. Believe me, I have had several exended recovery plans.
Avatar m tn started with a hernia repair that left him in pain for several years, then had a triple neurectomy, which provided some relief for a short amount of time, but the pain has returned with a vengence. We have tried everything from accupuncture, TENS, Tramadol, Celebrex, Gabapentin, and now pain medicine that has terrible side effects. He has been going on 6 years of up and down pain, and is now in the worst pain he has suffered yet.

It is also used for the treatment of excessive daytime sleepiness caused by obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome and shift-work sleep disorder. Avatar f tn In GYN terms it is the fibroids which are currently most problematic. At last check before last procedure, they were *numerous and enlarging the uterus to a 5 month pregnancy state.* Pelvic pain Very heavy bleeding, then light bleeding, on and off for nearly a year. Since I have had 8 previous abdominal surgeries and a lot of scar tissue from these, my GYN has been reluctant to recommend a hysterectomy and has tried all sorts of other Remedies.
Avatar m tn Lately I feel that I need to take matters and research into my own hands. Thank you for the blessings and I am praying for you aswell. Hope you day was comfortable aswell.

5485096 tn?1375574235 It was about that time that I switched from gabapentin to Lyrica. For a awhile I was taking both, as we ramped one up and the other down. The Lyrica works for my foot pain now. The gaba worked at first but stopped after about 18 months. The gaba was at 3600mg/day and the Lyrica is at 300mg/day. I'm also taking 75mg/day of amitriptilyne. Now back to my 10 pounds, could it be the Lyrica that's making me hungry?
Avatar m tn i have always felt like if i could take like 4 a day i would ..for life..but thats not gonna happen..thats why i was thinking a small amount of suboxone for life might be better than taking sometimes 15 norcos at once..
Avatar n tn When you look at the adverse effects of Lyrica, I think it should be used as a last resort. most patients with fibromyalgia have endocrine disruptions, including hypothyroidism. It's virtually impossible to treat fibromyalgia effectively without ensuring a properly functioning thyroid gland. One of the most common hormone deficiencies that can cause or exacerbate fibromyalgia is growth hormone.Growth hormone is secreted from the pituitary gland.
Avatar f tn I guess its good to gradually increase due to not knowing how it is going to affect you but when I increased the last time it was a 225mg increase at once and I was fine, the only thing bad about lyrica for me is the weight gain. Normally all I have to do is take one bite of food and it attaches itself to my body now all I have to do is look at it. But I am working on that.

1380526 tn?1292839385 I have severe facial nerve pain on the right side that won't go away...had it on the left side before my Chairi Decompression in 2009. My GP prescribed Lyrica...Gabapentin, Nortriptyline, Vicodin, etc weren't working...Been on the Lyrica for almost a week now and doesn't seem to be working either. Should I be seeing some results by now, or is it too soon? Anyone else had Lyrica for nerve pain like this? Or has something else helped? It is a horrible pain several times a day...
7953940 tn?1395707224 She agreed to come see me and she brought me samples of Lyrica and a prescription for Clonidine. She said it would get me through the withdrawals and she would check in one me every day. That was last week on Tuesday. I took my last pill Tuesday morning. I haven't had any other painkillers since then and have stuck to the taper schedule she gave me for the Lyrica.
747443 tn?1233024111 celebrex along with lyrica 150 mg. twice daily. Taken this for one month and no relief.
Avatar f tn There are several treatments for it, but the vast majority get the best relief from pain killers, makes the calves stop hurting and stops the RLS. I take Lyrica for my lower back injury. That drug is a miracle drug. No medication helps my upper back and torso pain except physical therapy, altho the opiates dim it somewhat.
1039200 tn?1314912008 Has anyone heard of Pregabalin (lyrica) for bipolar or anxiety? - my doctor wants me to try, but I have not heard about it before and would like to know if anyone here has tried it or knows anyone who has. Is it used as a mood stabiliser? - I can't find it on the web site ILADVOCATE recomended me a long time ago, does this mean it's not a mood stabiliser or just a new brand?
Avatar f tn I saw my physiatrist last week for the increasing pain I am having related to my syrinx. He advised me to check back in with my NS, and gave me a script for Cymbalta. Apparently, this anti-depressant also works on nerves. I'm definitely not a depressed person - so I had my reservations for Cymbalta, but the pharmacist re-assured me that my dr prescribed it for neuro issues. However, my insurance is not picking up the Cymbalta, so my dr ordered Paroxetine in its place.
Avatar m tn has anyone ever been perscribed Lyrica for cronic pain. If so how much do you take, and how long did it take to notice any results. I started taking 50MG's 3X's a day. I started last Tuesday, and haven't noticed any difference in my pain. any feedback would be great.
