lyrica

299889 tn?1257339377 I have been on Lyrica for about 4 mos now. I had horrible sx, sleepy and fatigued for about a month or so. Now the sx (sides) are gone. My dr. said they would subside and they did. Started a bit more Lyrica (think I need more and am in a flare of FM) and am sleepy again. They work so well! I really can't complain. I felt so much pain before I started the lyrica, almost quit b/c of the sides. I didn't quit and continued, so glad I did! I am now in school and am getting my life back.
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
Avatar f tn I had surgery on my foot in 2013 for plantar facitis, and surgery on my bladder this year for incontinence, and i have IBS and my balance is awful, i fall and trip over thin air and stairs are my nemesis, any opinions?
Avatar f tn Hi...Gabapentin is not a generic for Lyrica, but Neurontin...Lyrica is used to treat Fibromyalgia....and many times chiari is mis-dx'd as Fibro...the symptoms for chiari r similar to many diff conditions which is y getting a dx can be diff and many drs r more familiar with the other conditions then they r with chiari, so they feel it can not be chiari. http://www.google.com/url?url=http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed several years ago with hypermobility (7/9 on Beighton scale) but I now have excruciating joint and muscle pain for which I take Lyrica. My hips are very lax and slip in and out very easily, I'm forever spraining and twisting things... I also have scoliosis and have had osteoarthritis since I was 18, and degenerative disc disease since my adolescence. I have chronic IBS, acid reflux and swings in blood pressure (unexplained by other tests).
Avatar f tn My symptoms are pretty classic, IBS, neck pain, hip pain, occasional swelling, etc. (magnesium, cymbalta, lyrica, yaz). I also have vulvar vestibuluitis (with 2 unsuccessful tissue excisions), a microadenoma on the pituitary gland (with slightly increased prolactin level), family history of severe juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, maternal hx of hypothyroidism, very low levels of IGA, and IBS. I found some old tests in a drawer that showed my thyroid antibody level at 135.

1069827 tn?1296650628 For example, I have osteoarthritis in my spine and shoulder as well as fibro, so I have to make sure my inflammation is handled too, so I need a medication for that, but another person may not. I do not have trouble with IBS, but others do. That's what makes this disease so troublesome. Anyhow, my point is find a GOOD doctor- that is one who will listen and work with you.
956292 tn?1334054869 I hope I said that right....and said Lyrica or Cymbalta..He said these 2 meds are successful in being used for pain but he does not want to put me on ALL kinds of meds..If he can treat both issues with 1 he can be satisfied, if not we will look at the other option....He also told me a story of a study of a patient with neuropathic pain from diabetes and said this med was used and worked well for..... So...follow up in 3 months..AND do not hesitate to call me if anything happens....
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your encouragement. after going to the ER & getting a pill that was supposed to stop the withdrawl symptoms &didn't I took your advice & called my doc. I got my script a day early. I'm scared to go to my next appt. That she will fire me as a patient. I have chronic neck pain & very painful IBS.
Avatar n tn lyrica is mostly for nerve pain..I just had fusion...lyrica is of little help..side effects are not great..dizziness, loss of concentration etc..
Avatar f tn I was on Lyrica for some time and gained TOO much weight...making me feel worse and ache more....I need something without that side effect....have been on Cymbalta too ....will savella take the place of both?
Avatar n tn I was looking for an alternative and discovered Lyrica, but then I saw the warning about addictive behavior. I don't want anything that will cause that feeling to return ever again. Are there any fellow addicts out there who have had experience with Lyrica?
1380526 tn?1292839385 I have severe facial nerve pain on the right side that won't go away...had it on the left side before my Chairi Decompression in 2009. My GP prescribed Lyrica...Gabapentin, Nortriptyline, Vicodin, etc weren't working...Been on the Lyrica for almost a week now and doesn't seem to be working either. Should I be seeing some results by now, or is it too soon? Anyone else had Lyrica for nerve pain like this? Or has something else helped? It is a horrible pain several times a day...
Avatar f tn I guess its good to gradually increase due to not knowing how it is going to affect you but when I increased the last time it was a 225mg increase at once and I was fine, the only thing bad about lyrica for me is the weight gain. Normally all I have to do is take one bite of food and it attaches itself to my body now all I have to do is look at it. But I am working on that.
Avatar f tn this med does not work for anxiety, it can make it worse. i was on it for 2 months and could'nt sleep, eat and my anxiety was throught the roof. it really sounds like you need a different med. that nurse shoud'nt have treated you that way. take care.
Avatar f tn I was already on lyrica and I have found that if I've having a very bad day I can take an extra lyrica and it does help. It seems to help with the anxiety.
359574 tn?1328360424 Yes here is a Lyrica user who changed from Gabapentin which initially made me put on 14 pounds which I then worked very hard to lose. I have been on Lyrica since the summer and the weight is creeping up and I have put on another 7lbs...but think this may also have something to do with Christmas. I think that many drugs can affect our weight and that it is important to be aware of this, keep exercising when possible and watch your diet.
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
Avatar n tn Iam on lyrica itis supposed to be the best drug for fibro For ibs spasmol aps ad pepermint crdialin worm water.
Avatar m tn 150 mg at night, and it has really helped alot with the pain. Im also on norco for my back / neck pain, but the lyrica has been a great help to me. However it is expensive if you don't have insurance. Good luck to you all who suffer from this. I know quite a bit about neuropathy if I can help any one.
747443 tn?1233024111 celebrex along with lyrica 150 mg. twice daily. Taken this for one month and no relief.
