333535 tn?1227018609 The only thing I take for the pain of it all is lyrica and sunday afternoon I went shopping for about 4 hours, in and out of the car not just walking around one place, so i got some breaks and i seriously wanted someone to shoot me!! I was in so much pain I thought I would totally lose it! SO I guess what I am trying to say is I hope it works for you, try to be positive and maybe it will!
Avatar n tn I just started Lyrica last night. Nothing knocked me out like that did. I feel so drugged this morning, and a headache What are we using this for anyway? Pain or a sleeping pill?? I'm sorry but reading others questions, ya'll have keep increasing this drug to 600-700mg. Then what do you do? How do you guys function? I feel horrible. Not sure the pain from fibro is more enduring that this? Tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
1823499 tn?1370090289 Hello Can I ask how far post op you are? The reason I am asking is that I had horrible headaches post op for at least 6-8 months after. My theory was that it was possibly due to the inflammation after surgery, excess production of CSF (my brain hadn't adjusted yet) and/or triggered from my neck muscles (which are affected by the surgery as well). The headaches definitely were pressure ones though and most of the time it felt like there was a vice clamping on my skull!! So..
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.

630344 tn?1280104983 I had tried the Lyrica and I was only on that for 1 week before I found out that I was pregnant. I didn't feel right on it and not sure I really want to try it again now that I am not, wasn't sure if there was anything new out there for meds and or excercises or anything to help someone that is having pains, mostly when I do excercise though I have pain in my knees and joints from that ( I was doing a walking program and then had problems with my knees where I could barely walk.
Avatar n tn ) Low dose naltrexone (LDN), where the drug is used in doses approximately one-tenth those used for drug/alcohol rehabilitation purposes, is being used by some as an "off-label" experimental treatment for certain immunologically-related disorders, including HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis Parkinson's, cancer, autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis, and central nervous system disorders. Just keep in mind that it will block the effects of opoids.
Avatar f tn Then you can take some Tylenol instead together with the ibuprofen. They work well together for pain. Never take Tylenol while taking Vicodin though, because you may ovedose on acetominophen and damage your liver further. You should not have much withdrawal on the dose you are on, so don't worry about it. Go0d luck to you and feel well.
Avatar f tn She received injections for the occipital nerve - Her pain is in the back right at the base of her skull only. They said that should make her headache go away instantly from the numbing the nerve, then 48 hours for the actual medicine to work. That didn't work at all. So the ran DHE for 3.5 days. She did tolerate that better than most they said after her 7th dose, the pain suddenly got worse so then they thought it wasn't helping.
614661 tn?1267273924 t think the Lyrica could substitute for the Oxycodone for severe sharp/throbbing type pain, but everyone reacts a little differently. Bottom line: I wouldn't hesitate to try it if your pain in not under control and your Dr. is prescribing it. If you don't like it, you don't have to keep taking it. Good luck with this!!
Avatar n tn I have used narcotic pain killers with no help but I have used ice packs on the outside of my cheek which seems to help. I have also used Lyrica that I had for nerve damage and it has helped also. Do you have any thoughts? Thank you very much for your time.
937140 tn?1246013288 So my headaches are generally on the top and forehead and my temples and they hurt so bad I can cry and to be honest sometimes I do. My regular doctor has me on Lyrica for my nerve pain and back pain but it doesnt help much and DOES NOT help my headaches. I dont think they are migranes but dont know and so my question is ... does anyone know what kind of medicine would be good for real bad headaches? Please if anyone knows of anything I can try or do ... please let me know. Thank you!
Avatar n tn the day of the surgery I woke up with such an excrutiating pain/pressure on my head! I woke up with a really bad headache that I never in my life experience before. I've notice that whenever I would carry on a conversation that would cause me to get somewhat a little emotional that causes me a very severe head ache in the back of my head and the side of my head i would have to calm down so that the pain would go away.
Avatar f tn I am having really awful intermittent pain in my arm. My neuro wrote a script for Lyrica. My big concern about these nerve pain drugs (Neurontin too) is the weight gain side effect. I struggle w/weight as it is and don't look forward to adding more. Please let me know what you may have experienced.
Avatar m tn on the 5th of this May I experienced the worst headache i've ever experienced in my life (like a knife in my eye). it started @ 9am & ended @ 5 pm. the next day was worse.... and worse the next, and worse the next -each day they aways start @ 9am & end @ 5 pm (none of the 5 doc's who've seen me can explain why they start & stop so consistantly to the hour). from 9 to 10 is the ramp up time, from 10 to 4 was complete agony, from 4 to 5 ramp down.
Avatar f tn I have had a headache on the back of my head, and left side of my head for two plus years. I do suffer from neck pain, and the headaches started a few days after a cervical epidural. They do not believe I have a CSF leak, they just say "it's bad timing." I have seen two neurologists and a pain management doctor. . One says cerviogenic headache while the other just says migraines. I have tried a few anticonvulsants along with veraapamil.
Avatar n tn Hello, I had a craniectomy in Jan. 24 2007 to remove an eosinophilic granuloma from the right front temporal region. The recovery has not gone as planned. I have debilitating head pain two inches back of the surgery site that feels much like the pain of an abcessed tooth.I have tried Indocin, neurontin, topomax, lyrica. Nothing helps. At first it was constant now I have some days of relief when it is down to a dull roar.
359574 tn?1328360424 Yes here is a Lyrica user who changed from Gabapentin which initially made me put on 14 pounds which I then worked very hard to lose. I have been on Lyrica since the summer and the weight is creeping up and I have put on another 7lbs...but think this may also have something to do with Christmas. I think that many drugs can affect our weight and that it is important to be aware of this, keep exercising when possible and watch your diet.
