Avatar f tn I stumbled onto some studies of PEA several months back and bought some for my dad due to his sciatica and carpal tunnel pain. Within a few days of starting it his carpal tunnel pain was gone. His sciatica is a bit more stubborn. The pain has reduced a fair amount, so he can do more activities than prior to PEA. But he still gets some pretty bad flairs (usually after doing things he typically does not do due to pain). So overall I would say it is well worth the cost to try it.
Avatar f tn Cubital tunnel is mostly experienced by men but whereas carpal tunnel is impingment of the ulnar nerve in my elbow. I've had surgery on both, twice. The EMG would have shown if you have nerve damage so that is good news that you don't. The tests on my left arm and hand were worse than my right, however, the right hand, arm and elbow are where I have the majority of pain so that is the hand I chose to focus on, I am also left handed and didn't want the down time.
Avatar f tn I broke my wrist {still in hard cast} 2 weeks ago, had carpal tunnel surgery for severe case on same wrist 9 mos ago, am I in trouble? The surgery seemed sucessful pain reallly diminished but had not yet recovered all feeelings in fingers which was supposed to take quite a bit more time.
Avatar n tn Hi, I would suggest you to seek a second opinion. If you need surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome please get it done. Also for compression of the fibular nerve you may need surgery depending upon the severity of symptoms. A second opinion will help in deciding the future course of action. Please remember to take all your reports with you.
Avatar n tn So Bridget how can I reduce my chances of getting carpal tunnel while still working on the computer for many hours? Also whats my chances of getting carpal tunnel?
17020225 tn?1455749597 Yes, it IS possible for symptoms to come and go as carpal tunnel progresses. A nerve conduction test gives the best evidence in my opinion, of carpal tunnel syndrome. And NO, having a nerve conduction test should absolutely not be contingent on you having surgery after it. How are you doing now?
Avatar f tn Carpal Tunnel doesn't have anything to do with being pregnant. I know my mom has carpal tunnel in both of her hands. She got it because of the work she did for almost 20 years.
Avatar m tn The result showed I have carpal tunnel in right hand. I had surgery for carpal tunnel in the same hand in 1998. I also have been told that I have degenerative disc disease in C5 and C7 areas. My doctor said that the carpal tunnel can be coming from my neck and doing carpal tunnel surgery wouldn't help if it was coming from my neck. Have you ever heard of carpel tunnel coming from neck pain If so, what treatment would you suggest?
1386655 tn?1452097056 Hi, I was wondering is there anyone out there who has done steroid shots for moderate carpal tunnel and what was you outcome like? I was told mine is not severe enough for surgery but I need some relief. I'm at the point where I don't know what to do. Any advice, opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

7536154 tn?1400112427 I'm 36 weeks. And can't wait for this to be over lol. But I have severe pain in my left wrist. I'm a FTM. Any other moms experiencing carpal tunnel and if so how are you dealing with it?
Avatar f tn I have had carpal tunnel in my right hand for years, never in my left until about 2 months ago. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and the pain is almost unbearable. It affects my sleep to the point where I want to cry. I wear braces on both wrists but it doesn't seem to help much. Does anyone have any advice on what works to diminish the pain? I'm desperate!
Avatar f tn I'm 38 weeks and this last week started getting carpal tunnel. It's become almost unbearable and can't even move my fingers at night they hurt so bad. They hurt during the day also just not as bad. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to take care of my baby when he comes.
Avatar f tn Seen my Dr 2day and found out i have carpal tunnel in both my hands. Has anyone else dealt with this if so what helped you?? My Dr recommended those lil cast looking things, but what helped you?
11812324 tn?1435883504 Has anyone else gotten carpal tunnel since being pregnant? If so, how are you dealing with it?
Avatar f tn I have carpal tunnel syndrome too, there are braces you can buy to help. I personally havent but my hands ache horribly as well. Just to crack my fingers is teeth clenching. I have pretty persistent numbness in my thumb pointer and index finger on both hands. My midwife offered suggestions to sleep with them propped up on pillows and to seriously reduce any sodium intake you might have. Plenty of water, thats what I read all the time. Good luck!
Avatar f tn m nearly 15 weeks. A nurse told me I have carpal tunnel, its hard for me to sleep at night and the nerves in my wrist and fingers hurt frequently. What can I do besides Tylenol and wrist brace?
Avatar f tn I'm 33+2 a ftm and I been having this since I was 30weeks I can't stan this my arms all the way to my hands get numb and they hurt I haven't been getting any sleep it's 4:15a.
Avatar n tn First of all, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. It seems you have to be a doctor to even figure out the correct place to post ;) Anyways, I was complaining to a friend of wrist pain and they kind of freaked me out. They told me that it's probably carpal tunnel, and they knew someone who had it, and their wrist would spasm and make it look like there was something moving under the skin. They said I'd probably need a brace and surgery as I got older.
