1039200 tn?1314912008 Has anyone heard of Pregabalin (lyrica) for bipolar or anxiety? - my doctor wants me to try, but I have not heard about it before and would like to know if anyone here has tried it or knows anyone who has. Is it used as a mood stabiliser? - I can't find it on the web site ILADVOCATE recomended me a long time ago, does this mean it's not a mood stabiliser or just a new brand?
Avatar f tn I was already on lyrica and I have found that if I've having a very bad day I can take an extra lyrica and it does help. It seems to help with the anxiety.
Avatar f tn I believe the earlier drug Neurontin is used more often for anxiety. Don't know about Lyrica being used for this.
398624 tn?1266269449 t started taking the Lyrica yet tho. New meds always worry me. Has anyone taken this for anxiety? If so, how well did it work for you? Also, is it like Lorezapam (Ativan) in which it gets in your system right away and you can feel the effects within 30-45 mins?
358486 tn?1294776388 I have taken Lyrica for 3 yrs now, but I saw a Rheumy 2day that suggested that I switch to Celexa. Unsure what 2 do?? Anybody here take Celexa? I was told it helps Fibro Pain & also Anxiety & Fatigue too...that would be Great! but I am still hesitant to try the switch. Avatar n tn i tried quitting before and the leg pain and anxiety were really bad. I now have Klonopin for the anxiety but what can I take to help with the body aches and leg pain? Thanks.. looking forward to getting clean.
Avatar m tn I have had GREAT SUCCESS using Lyrica for anxiety. It was prescribed to me for Fibromyalgia, and I was talking klonopin for anxiety. The 2 mixed together made me nod out. I stopped taking klonopin and had no withdrawals or depression from stopping cold turkey after taking anxiety medicine for years. The Lyrica prevented those withdrawals. Lyrica is a miracle drug for me. It helps both my Fibromyalgia and anxiety. Lyrica even enhances my mood and clears my mind. I am up to 300 mg 2x a day.
Avatar n tn However i read that they were treating cancer patients with lyrica for their joint and bine pain ....Could you please let me know if it is safe for her to take lyrica for her fibromyalgia !!! Thank you so much for your time in this matter !!!
299889 tn?1257339377 I have been on Lyrica for about 4 mos now. I had horrible sx, sleepy and fatigued for about a month or so. Now the sx (sides) are gone. My dr. said they would subside and they did. Started a bit more Lyrica (think I need more and am in a flare of FM) and am sleepy again. They work so well! I really can't complain. I felt so much pain before I started the lyrica, almost quit b/c of the sides. I didn't quit and continued, so glad I did! I am now in school and am getting my life back.
Avatar m tn Hi there. I am taking lyrica for general anxiety. I was on 50 mg taken at night together with rivotril. My psychiatrist reduced my dosage of lyrica to 25mg. Apart from general anxiety, I understand it helps with pain and induces sleep. I sleep quite well now, and in the morning and day time, I don't feel too tired. My doctor feels lyrica suits me and I may be on it for a while longer. Does it help with your pain?
Avatar f tn ask for a ertest. Some meds cancel other meds out completely.
1131131 tn?1275108488 Hi, I recently was sent to the ER by my physican due to a reaction I was having from my celexa. I was having extreme anxiety, high blood pressure, sweating, tremors, shaking, etc. They had me stop the celexa. My doctor had me start Zoloft. I have been on it for six days and some of the same symptoms are starting again plus muscle tightness in the chest and throat. She told me to stop the zoloft. I asked if I should titrate it, but I was told to just stop it.
Avatar f tn You could start to reduce the lyrica but start tapering the tramadol properly and then tapering the lyrica (I believe lyrica may take a bit more time and discomfort than the trams but that's just my personal opinion). How much do you take how often and since how long?
Avatar f tn Hi I'm on lyrica 607 4ep pd Or amorphous 4G pd Dhc 20th pd Thyroxine 10 g pd I have asked my doctor to put me on top a max and he said I have to go back to pain clinic ,do they have the right to prescribe them for me ?
Avatar m tn has anyone ever been perscribed Lyrica for cronic pain. If so how much do you take, and how long did it take to notice any results. I started taking 50MG's 3X's a day. I started last Tuesday, and haven't noticed any difference in my pain. any feedback would be great.
Avatar n tn Gabapentin is good for nerve pain. It worked great for me for 2 years. I just recently switched to Lyrica...but haven't been on it long enough to know yet...
Avatar n tn My boyfriend who has FMS takes Celexa (similar to Lexapro) along with Klonopin for anxiety. FMSers do get anxiety, it is one of the many symptoms. Everyone is different, some may have a lot of anxiety while others have none. Does the Lyrica help you? I would be careful with anything herbal. Check with your dr first. It's really hard to know exactly what is in an herbal medication since they are not regulated by the FDA.
451366 tn?1211304932 ve been on cymbalta for a year and have been put on lyrica (25) for a month has helpped with restless legs and Fibro abit, just increased to 75mg, had problems.
Avatar m tn My dr just gave me Lyrica. I have been taking 4 hydros 10/500 a day for several years. I very seldom use more, I took the first Lyrica last night and feel pretty sluggish today. Has anyone on here taken this and had any luck with it? I have read some bad things about it which I guess all of these pain killers have bad side effects. I just want to know has it helped anyone cut back on the other pain killers.
333535 tn?1227018609 I took Lyrica for 2 yrs before they approved it for Fibromyalgia. I have been off of it for 7 months now have lost 40 lbs (without trying) and I don't notice any increase or decrease in the amount of pain I suffer. I have since been taking Neurontin for the leg pain and it works without the side effects that Lyrica caused.
Avatar f tn I have been taking 150mg x2 of lyrica for 6 months, My mood has been affected tremendously, depression, anxiety, not wanting to do anything. I have had enough! I stopped taking my first dose of 150mg immediately and haven't had any issues, I plan on continuing to stop cold turkey. I would rather have my life back than be on this medication.
Avatar m tn I took 50 mg of lyrica last night and did better this morning with the anxiety. It helps me for some reason. I just don't like some of the side effects of lyrica, but sometimes you just have to do what you can to stop the anxiety..
Avatar f tn Yes, I take lyrica and I have found that it does help with the anxiety. Of course, lyrica is hard to stop too, but at this time you need help and it does help.
Avatar n tn S She just gave me a script for Lyrica. Its used to treat fibromyalgia, but over in Europe the FDA approved it for treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Not yet in the US. Its not addictive at all. I haven't noticed anything and a side effect is wieght gain, which gives me anxiety so i don't take it anymore. discuss lyrica with your doctor.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed Lyrica for my pain issues and this is the second time I tried it. I don't feel this drug did anything for my pain and the anxiety of trying to sleep at night I think was the worse for me. I found this drug did not help my sleeping although it says it causes sleepiness. Gabapentin helps for my sleeping with no side effects to speak of BUT watch what you mix Gabapentin with. It can have side effects with other medication so I have to monitor what I take and when.
Avatar f tn i have had generalized anxiety (severe) for 12 yrs. currently only on 5 mg of lexapro only because i couldn't get off the last 5mg. i take clonazepam which is the only thing that works, but every couple of years i hit a wall and need to up the antidepressant. been on zoloft, paxil, celexa, effexor, lyrica, cipralex(lexapro), maoi's, etc..wondering if pristiq works, or maybe cymbalta? only snri i was on was effexor, which didn't do much but also had a brutal psych.
