1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi guys, I'm investigating Lyrica, and a switch over maybe, I'm almost at the max of Gabapentin, so am looking into other options. I have heard though that so many people GAIN lots of weight with Lyrica..... have you folks found that to be a problem?? My mother is 79 and was put on Lyrica..( not to sure why), but apparently gained 40 pounds in 7 weeks, and I for soure don't want that. Extra weight is also hard on us with MS........
Avatar m tn (10Mg) and been told to take them 3 times a day. I would take one every 4 hours. Is this Double Dosing or just me Over-Reacting thinking I am going to die? I am having natural side effects, Feeling extremely tired.
874521 tn?1424116797 I am taking Lyrica for my fibromyalgia. I just started it yesterday. Believe it or not, I had 7 hours of sleep last night with almost no pain. It can have bad allergic reactions so keep in tough with your doctor and read the instruction sheet for side effects. Don't drive until you see how it effects you. I got a little dizzy but that should go away when I get used to the drug. Good Luck.
Avatar n tn he is attending kindergarden and his teacher has been complain that he does not follow instruction does not complete his task, he gets distracted a lot and also tries to distract others in the class, he screams at class. 1913232 tn?1361454089 During the course on my triple therapy I missed several doses of incivek, my question is, did I adversely affect the therapy by not dosing 8 hrs on the dot? and, is it worth trying to re-try the same therapy with the new Dr?

Avatar f tn Ive been on lyrica and nuvigil fro fibro pain and fatigue, and just found out I'm pregnant. I'm just wondering if anyone else has taken either one of those while pregnant. I've stopped them for i was on only 50 mg of lyrica and about 100 of nuvigil. but I'm still worried, and i feel like I've been hit by a train once again, the pain is almost unbearable, i know my doc personally, have an appt. with him for the 12th.
233622 tn?1279334905 he has me dosing three times a day - I take it first thing in the morning. then when I get home from work and the final one at bedtime. He did say that I could take more and sometimes I take one at work if my body feels like it isn't working right. The most i have taken is 40mg in a day.
Avatar f tn I am even embarassed to even share my story with you. I have abused prescription drugs since my high school days. And I did get clean from some of them. But when the doctor put me on Lyrica for my fibromyalia, (I'm so ashamed to tell this), but I found that by taking 6 Lyrica capsules (90 mgs each) at one time, it made me feel really good. This last time I went through bottle in about a week and I feel Horrible! I did not know coming off of Lyrica could make you so sick.
Avatar m tn t handle the weight gain, tiredness and bloating that I felt while on Lyrica, although it helped me immensely with pain. Lyrica is an anti-seizure medication too. I switched to Topamax because it didn't cause weight gain and my insurance finally covered it and I was very curious about it. Topamax has helped me with my migraines and is more energizing than Lyrica, although my doctor has told me that many people get tired on it.
Avatar f tn ve just recently been diagnosed and am taking Lyrica, Ryzolt and tramadol-(as needed). I am looking for an alternative for pain relief instead of the tramadol.
382218 tn?1341181487 A simple thing to try is the addition of a small dose of amitriptyline (20mg or less) at night. It can be great for additional nerve pain relief, but is a bit sedating so it is best used at night. I'm with your physician. If the Neurontin seems to be helping, but not enough, try it for several weeks and maybe request something to boost it a bit like the amitriptyline.
667735 tn?1253200103 In all fairness I have to defend the NJ doctors you are talking about. As you know I see that group and I have had nothing but great results with them, including a sucsessful BX. I was very susprised to hear you were disappointed but I guess they can not make every patient happy. Sorry it had to be you that was one of the rare patients that were unhappy.
Avatar m tn Will swelling and itching go away by continuing to take Lyrica. I started in my hands and feet. I have been taking it a month and the symptoms are daily but are mild and seem less and less. Today, it is only swelling on the top of my ear with slight itching. Should it continue taking it, because i heard that discontinuing could cause a seizure.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
Avatar m tn Does anyone take lyrica and if so, has it made a difference resting at night? Thanks.
Avatar f tn i just started lyrica yesterday...75mg...only taken it twice...could it ALREADY be helping my symptoms or is the "good feeling" just in my head?
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
5164523 tn?1366525959 so for awhile when i missed the lyrica, i thought oh, i have vicodin...but as Vicodin off, more and more the lyrica helped.....but when I missed doses of everything..., It was by my wife keeping a diary, that I realized I was missing so many just a few days or even one...the Oh! went on... And now I have taken 3yrs without feeling the sick, sweaty feeling I felt when I missed dose.. I did not gain weight ..
Avatar m tn Hi, Lyrica shouldn't be addictive at the low doses used for neuropathy. My grandmothers been on it or the other derivative, gabapentin, for years. Just take it at low doses. It works wonders for treating nerve pain though.
237152 tn?1206651036 My pain doc says neurontin is a much safer drug than lyrica and wants me to stick to the neurontin.....lyrica does have a euphoria associted with it with use for some....especially at first....
