lyrica

382218 tn?1341181487 I'm currently taking 2700 mg per day [3 x 900 mg] for nerve pain in my hand. I think I soon will need to increase to the upper limit of 3600 mg per day and see if this brings me more relief. My neuro supports this. What I was wondering was whether there is any difference in effectiveness in taking 1200 mg, 3x per day - VS - 900 mg, 4x per day? 4x per day is tricker given that is every 6 hours and may interfered with sleep, having to wake extra early to take a dose.
526311 tn?1229286330 just put on lyrica for unrelated medical reasons, can this drug threaten my sobriety? Im doing so good, not that I want to abuse it, but the pattern shows if addicting, abusable drugs are put in my hand ill use em the wrong way. i read a post saying lyrica is a controlled substance?! And that is gets you high? Im scared I should fill the script i need help have no idea what kind of medicine it is?
Avatar f tn I've been on Lyrica for about two years now, treated for chronic nerve pain. I had been up to 4 Vicodin a day because of the pain, and with the lyrica as a side RX my pain med dosage went down. My pain decreased. I was taking 50mg, I was feeling so good I stopped taking the Lyrica, but my pain was too much, had to go back on it. The side effects I have were sleepiness and weight gain.
Avatar f tn I have been on Lyrica for fibromyalgia for years now and dosage have been increasing ever since. It doesn't help me at all despite the increase in strength and now, with a concoction of pain candies and patches. The withdrawals and side effects are way worse so I al getting off them now.
Avatar m tn has anyone ever been perscribed Lyrica for cronic pain. If so how much do you take, and how long did it take to notice any results. I started taking 50MG's 3X's a day. I started last Tuesday, and haven't noticed any difference in my pain. any feedback would be great.
Avatar m tn 150 mg at night, and it has really helped alot with the pain. Im also on norco for my back / neck pain, but the lyrica has been a great help to me. However it is expensive if you don't have insurance. Good luck to you all who suffer from this. I know quite a bit about neuropathy if I can help any one.
10704670 tn?1412128715 ve been taking Lyrica for fibromyalgia for several years, and have been taking a low dosage of just 75 mg. once nightly. For over a month, now, I've been having achy joints in wrists, elbows, and feet -- along with ache behind my eyes, nervousness, and worst of all, "flu-like" feelings going throughout the body. I usually wake in the morning feeling much better, but by late afternoon or evening, all these sick feelings set in.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi Candy I have been on lyrica for 4 yrs now gained about 20lbs but it has been a wonder drug for me no more neuropathy pain. the pain before was a 20 on the pain scale felt likea ice pick being jabbed into my legs over and over again.
645800 tn?1466860955 Well I tried out the new lower dosage (50mg caps) of Lyrica last night. At least I wasn't so out of it that I didn't even remember going to bed. In fact quite the opposite. It took five hours for me to get sleepy enough to even try going to sleep and my vision got very blurry. But I'm not sure I can blame either on the Lyrica. I was kind of anxious about how this dosage would effect me due to what happened with the higher dosage.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken lyrica for fibromylasia and found increased pain instead of decrease?
Avatar m tn I'm glad you posted this. My Dr was going to prescribe me lyrica for shingles pain but I was hesitant and refused at the time. I did some research on it when I got home and actually found that lyrica is approved in eroupe for anxiety. I also read reviews of people taking it for other things and found that it helped with their anxiety. Glad to know it is working for you. What dosage are you on?Where your prescribed the lyrcia for anxiety or something else? Hope it continues to help you.
Avatar f tn is anyone taking Lyrica or gabapentin for herniated disc, if so what dosage, or is there something else i should be taking
Avatar f tn Sorry for the delay in answering. I tried Lyrica. It did not work for me and I could not tolerate the side effects. I do appreciate your kindness in trying to help me.
Avatar f tn First time on Lyrica. I was taking 75 mg 2x daily and it was workin great. Increased dosage about 2 weeks ago and slowly my pain is coming back. Woke up this morning feeling like I'm not on the med. Has anyone else had this happen and is it temporary or does Lyrica stop working all of a sudden?.
Avatar f tn Print it out for your doctor. I knew I had read it somewhere. I have battled sever phantom pain for 13 years, had 68 operations, 23 broken bones so I have learned alot over the years. Let me know what you are gonna do about maybe asking your doctor to prescribe a real pain pill www.aboutlawsuits.
1359227 tn?1282522148 m giving up all hope of being pain free again. people when using a high dose of lyrica. it works for the pain but the side effects could be very dangerous!
Avatar f tn historically, I have posted in the Pain Management Forum. Anyway, I was prescribed Lyrica and have been taking it for about 3 weeks. Before I started taking the medication, I researched all of the (horrible) side effects but have not really experienced any yet at 75 mg. twice a day. If anyone has taken Lyrica and experienced side effects, did they usually begin shortly after you started to take the medication or did they take awhile to kick in?
Avatar m tn Lyrica was a miracle for my nerve pain for 2 1/2 years. I went off it since the pain was gone and started to have serious anxiety problems. I finally connected the dots! The Lyrica was also solving my aniexty attack problem. I went back on it. I never had weight gain or problems with sleepiness. Everyone is different. You might be one of the lucky ones like me.
Avatar f tn I take Lyrica myself. It is for nerve pain. It does nothing for my numbness, etc. I may have to go back to neurontin as my insurance co doesn't want to pay for Lyrica. So far for 4 months now, my doc has given me samples, but that can't go on forever. The only trouble I have with Lyrica is I have to be VERY strict about carbs, as it causes craves, and weight gain. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn at one point I was wondering if I had MS. Anyway, I just started taking Lyrica for the Fibromyalgia and while it helps with pain, it really leaves me in a MAJOR fog. I was wondering if anyone else was having the same kind of problems with the drug.
874521 tn?1424116797 Yes, I started on Lyrica about 9 mos. ago for my lower back pain & neuropathic pain, HOWEVER, it does work & I like the fact that I'm not taking as highly an addictive pain killer as an opiate, I've already gained 26 pounds! That's having switched from regular to DIET soda & DECREASED my food intake!!! So, be forewarned, you're gonna gain more than a little weight.
Avatar n tn What dosage are you at? you might google it for more information concerning the effectiveness and if there are any side effects.
