Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica cost of

lyrica

1218873 tn?1300091216 If you have no drug coverage Lyrica will cost you about $350.00/mn. That for 3 tabs of 100mg/day ouch! Our FDA (food and drug association) is why. I have gotten my meds through Canada and they are so much cheaper. With the laws in place now here in the good ol' US of A it is being considered a narcotic. So you can't get Lyrica through the mail just like pain meds. The meds I got through Canada funny (well not real funny) most came from England or India.
Avatar f tn If given a choice without cost factors pros and cons of Gabapentin versus Lyrica for long standing neuopathy pain in my back, legs and feet from surgery over 10 years ago...Any advise appreciated..
Avatar f tn Lost new bottle of lyrica 75mg. Do not know whatto do. Afraid Dr. Will think I abused or sold. I can not fill it for 30 days. Have ins.,but they will not repay. It cost over $220 . 210982 tn?1280983895 d had and I couldnt remember many of them. I dont want to totally knock lyrica, because it did really help with the severe pain, but the side effects for me were pretty bad. Thankfully the doctors determined later that I dont have RSD and alot of my nerve pain subsided when I began stretching and excercising during physical therapy. I still have Lyrica for when I get nerve pain, but I havent had to take it for a couple of months now.
669241 tn?1236264344 I take 250 mgs of Lyrica twice a day. It has really eased the pain some, better than neurontin, ultram, flexeril and etc. Big problem is have to sleep 6 hours before drving as it contributes to fibro fog. But with fibro, Pad, OA RLS & nerve pain in arm and leg I will stay on Lyrica. Hope it or another med will help you.
511671 tn?1214148100 My new neuro suggested that I was not benefiting any longer. he has cut my neurotin to 1200mg a day and 200mg of lyrica. I take 100 in the morning and 100 in the evening. I also take 75 mg of effexor in the moirning and 75mg at night. i feel less nerve pain on the lyrica the only down side is the cost. LOL !! I hope this helps you. Good Luck.
2107676 tn?1388973859 Hi Pat. just to let you know, I was prescribed Lyrica too, I know it is expensive but I have coverage, so it only cost me 20.00 but I found it never worked for me, and I have nerve pain ( nerve damage ), so the doctor gave me Gabapentin ( neurontin ) instead, to try,and I find it works much better than Lyrica and the cost is minimal, it cost me 4.00 for LOTS of them , sorry can't remember how many but it was a huge bottle.
669241 tn?1236264344 I was taking both Lyrica and Ultram. I found that should I miss a dose of the Lyrica the pain was intensified and I didn't like the cognitive difficulty that it caused. I recently discontinued the Ultram after being on it for 3 yrs. Honestly, I am still achy and in pain, but I now see that the Ultram did little to begin with. I never had the dosage increased during the time I was taking it. Take care.
680499 tn?1233851308 My doctor has started me on a trial of 75mg of Lyrica, three times a day for my suspected "neuromuscular pain". What I want to know, is from those of you who have taken it, has it helped with your pain? Did it make you gain weight? Right now the only thing I have noticed is being terribly drowsy. Please let me know how this medicine has affected you...Thanks!
Avatar m tn Lyrica is an amazing drug. I tried every/any number of neuro drugs, none worked, or worked long enough. Lyrica does. I have a neuropathy damage in my R foot from a construction accident. Also in my R hand from a "complex fracture" (a cracker) of my radius. Later the plate actually became an issue, and I had it removed. That caused a whole new pile of hand pain... Lyrica keeps them 99.1% under control... yea even w/ insurance it's dam expensive, but wow does it work.
Avatar f tn This is the first drug test from him in 2-3 years. I had been taking less of my MSContin and Lyrica because of being in the"donut-hole" of Med.D script plan and , also trying to resolve co-pay of MSContin-generic back down to tier exception lower cost co-pay. We tryed to resolve the lower MSContin copay in his office for 45 min. with insurance co. to no avail..now have info. to have my PMP to help me resove this.
1396846 tn?1332459510 Pharmacy Benefits Managers are the middle men between drug companies and the consumer. They negotiate the cost of a drug for the insurance and set some of the rules sometimes for safety and sometimes for cost. I do not have to buy my medication from Medco but they still set the rules.
Avatar n tn I have been stable on my meds., however my medical aid refused to cover the cost for the Lyrica, giving as a reason that they don't cover medication for Fibro-myalgia. I am now taking Epleptin 300mg, 1 2x daily. I feel weird. light-headed, dizzy, fatigued. Do you think I am having side effects from the Epleptin? Regards.
Avatar m tn I think lyrica is used for nerve pain or something but omfg im not withdrawing i cant believe this is working for us.
Avatar n tn If you have pain which is neuropathic - and a lot of chronic pain sufferers are in this camp - then a trial of lyrica is worth it, so long as you and your doctor pay heed to any warning signs. If you can cope on it then it beats using strong opiates with all of the restrictive practices and general hassle of S8 medications. All the best.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if anyone has any knowledge of SDT treatment for back pain? What is the cost? How effective is this treatment compared to a chiropractor?
Avatar f tn I know a lot of people find relief with Lyrica, but I couldn't tolerate Lyrica or neurontin, though they both did help with my nerve pain. WIth the Lyrica I gained about 15 pounds in less than 3 weeks without changing my diet. It killed me, as I had worked so hard to get my weight off (and after being on high blood pressure pills for eight years, I was able to go off them!) The worst for me, though, was the cognitive issues I had with both.
Avatar f tn Recently, he has told me to have my PCP fill my Lyrica. PCP will not. This has cost me money, because I had to schedule appointments with PCP to discuss this. I don't understand why the doctors just don't communicate with one another. This has also caused me to miss time from work? I fear I will lose the one medication that helps my neuropathy. PCP sent me to a 2nd neurologist for a 2nd opinion. That 2nd neurologist made me feel uncomfortable. Live in a rural area; very few options.
Avatar f tn I took it and 2 hours later I was up doing the dishes. Can Lyrica honestly make that huge of a difference or is this more of a placebo effect??
Avatar f tn the day before thanksgiging and I was taking gabapentin300mg. I have to wait and see if my Medicair part D pays for the lyrica. I had to pay out of pocket 28.00 for 6 pills. We are testing to see if the lyrica helps. I woke the other night to such sever numbness and pain in my legs and feet I was crying. I work out and have to walk everywhere due to I have lost a lot fo my vision and I am back in school studyingprelaw.
Avatar n tn My pain management doctor just prescribed Lyrica and I'm a little nervous of taking it after reading about some of the side effects. When I read that it can increase thoughts about suicide that really got my attention. My doc prescribed it for nerve pain but I'm not sure about the risk reward. In other words it may get rid of my nerve pain but then make me depressed and suicidal. NOT COOL!! Has anyone out there taken it for awhile and how did you do on it?
Avatar n tn I am taking 750mg of lyrica twice a day and my stomache is so bloated and I'm in so much pain. I drink also I drank 1/2 pint of vocka and a pint. I cut back alot on my drinking, But is that whats causing my stomache to be bloated and if so what can I do? I'm taking the lyrica like this for opaite withdrawls like swim.
451366 tn?1211304932 Lyrica is used for pain of fibromyalgia. I have fibro, but I refuse to use it because weight gain is also a big side effect, which is the last thing I need. But some women with fibro and depression say it is a miracle drug.
382218 tn?1341181487 I'm wondering about this because I usually have no problems with meds that cause others many side effects. In particular, nothing seems to make me very drowsy. Elavil, for the first little while, but nothing major. Neurontin - well I was up to 3600mg/day, the maximum dose, and it never ever made me sleepy. Others here have reported problems at only 100 - 300mg/day. I'm now experimenting with Lyrica; coming off the Neurontin slowly and going up on the Lyrica.
Avatar m tn I was put on Celexa by my personal physician and informed my Ortho of this new medication. I am a PTSD sufferer. My Ortho put Lyrica on top of it and I - after only two doses - became manic and had my boyfriend poised to call 911 for me so that I could be Baker Acted! I don't know about the specific effects of Lyrica, o ther than the fact that it certainly could have very easily cost me my life!!!
Avatar n tn hello naomi, i have been on lyrica or pregabaline as i call it,, and it does help a lot with atn,try a higher dose (over 500mg a day) and that will ease it a bit, you could also try asking your docter for a trial of topirimate to go with the lyrica, that will help also but the topirimate might make you a bit scatty!!! it did with me so i had a change to the pain patches(buprenorphine transdermal patch) they are ok, but don,t suit everyone ..and wow!
