lyrica

1547952 tn?1293907781 Lowe back pain, hip pain and the skin feeling sore is something that I deal with as well. It is horrible to have that sunburnt feeling. Lyrica works for me when it comes to that pain. As for the hip and lower back pain, is your gait off when you walk? That will cause pain but I get the pain just when I am walking and it is annoying. The only pain meds I am on are Lyrica and muscle relaxers so I just make due, but the pain got out of control in December and I got steroids for it.
Avatar m tn Lyrica is for nerve pain, percocet and other pain meds usually wont help nerve pain.
Avatar n tn I am only about 7 weeks post cervical fusion, but I have the same type of pain. I asked my doctor about Lyrica, and he gave me a script. My pain in the shoulderblade area went from about an 8 to about a 3 or 4. That was about 3 weeks ago that I started. I have a worse day here or there, but I would not be here typing if it weren't for the Lyrica. If you have tried everything else, you may want to give this medication a shot. I am almost totally off the opiates now because of it.
Avatar f tn Im on lyrica 75mg twice daily for chronic back pain .yes victoria ive all you have.
Avatar f tn How long did you take the lyrica before you had relief? I have pain in my upper back down mt arm and tingling from my elbow down to my left hand where half of my hand in numb, no strength and fingers very stiff.
Avatar f tn my friend had back surgery and was prescribed to percocet for his back pain. Then he told me they gave him one day lyrica. He hated it. But still keep in mind he and I also were looking for that "buzz". Or just google it and it will tell you all about it.
Avatar f tn I had been up to 4 Vicodin a day because of the pain, and with the lyrica as a side RX my pain med dosage went down. My pain decreased. I was taking 50mg, I was feeling so good I stopped taking the Lyrica, but my pain was too much, had to go back on it. The side effects I have were sleepiness and weight gain. So I take it before bedtime, and I work out as much as possible, this also helps with depression I might get due to having a chronic pain disease.
Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia as well and my pain has come back big time since I stopped taking the pain meds. Lyrica is an anti-epileptic drug like neurontin. I am on neurontin it helps with the withdrawals but I don't find any relief for the pain.
237152 tn?1206651036 Im speaking to my doctor about a possible replacement to the lyrica.
Avatar m tn then i would have to say give it a try, it is pricey, and sometimes insurance dosent always cover it, so if not covered by insurance, ask about neurontin, i take neurontin 600 mgs three times a day and it helps with my everyday pain quite well. lyrica and neurontin are in the same class of drugs and are not physically addictive.
333535 tn?1227018609 Some here on this forum have posted some luck with Lyrica. Myself, not so much. I've tried it two different times. The first time I tried to find something else to blame the side effects on and gave it another go. Didn't have any better luck the second time. Lyrica worked as far as helping my pain. I could tell that but it wasn't worth it for the side effects I felt. Everyone is different. Maybe you will do well.
874521 tn?1424116797 Yes, I started on Lyrica about 9 mos. ago for my lower back pain & neuropathic pain, HOWEVER, it does work & I like the fact that I'm not taking as highly an addictive pain killer as an opiate, I've already gained 26 pounds! That's having switched from regular to DIET soda & DECREASED my food intake!!! So, be forewarned, you're gonna gain more than a little weight.
614661 tn?1267273924 anything that starts with oxy is garbage and will ruin your life if you have a lifelong injury do something else i know so many people who ended up divorced broke and addicted i take lyrica and its great for back and leg pain, stay off the hard drugs excercise is key.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi Candy I have been on lyrica for 4 yrs now gained about 20lbs but it has been a wonder drug for me no more neuropathy pain. the pain before was a 20 on the pain scale felt likea ice pick being jabbed into my legs over and over again.
Avatar n tn Over a year ago I was diagnosed with having a bone spur at the C-5 level right side and the C-4 and C-5 discs are bulging and actually causing my spinal cord to push forward. I've been having a lot of headaches, neck and shoulder pain, muscle weakness and tingling in my right arm and hand and even sometimes in my left hand. I've seen a Neurosurgeon and Neurologist. I'm currently taking Lyrica and Cymbalta for the nerve pain.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have had 3 failed back surgeries and now have an SCS unit installed. I still take Lyrica and pain meds. Lyrica is suspost to make the nerve endings (dead) or just not as touchy. I have been on both Lyrica and Neurontin and the Lyrica does help me some. Not as much as my Dr wanted but it gives me about another 5-10% pain reduction. It does not help everyone even if they have the same problems.
Avatar f tn Hi Kellic! Lyrica is truly the best medicine for FM. It gave me back my life for 9 fun months!!!! I felt so good during this time - it was like the "old" me was back, before I ever had fibromyalgia. I was so full of energy and life, but then I plateau-ed at 600mg (started out at 75mg) which is the max dose and now I'm back to being in a constant flare up and I'm on disability.
5164523 tn?1366525959 Lyrica comes in other mg too. My nerve pain is always worse at night, unfortunately I can go back on Lyrica for a while. A word of warning about Lyrica, it caused me to gain weight. Just thought I would pass on the info. Good luck!

Avatar n tn Thank you, and I am fine, much happier since they gave me Lyrica, significantly reduces my back pain, I hope you will ask the doctors about those gabapentin type medicines. They'll also be able to prescribe her a good brace. Even tho my life is much different than it was, I have come to accept it, and enjoy what I DO have. But I couldn't have done that without proper medication.
Avatar f tn I take a combination of Lyrica and Elavil (amitriptilyne) for my neuropathic foot pain. It took a while to find the right combo. Initially it was gabapentin, then gabpentin + Elavil then Lyrica + Elavil. Elavil is and antidepressant. At some point along the way I added 10-15 LBS. I can't be sure if it was the meds, or the mass quantities of cookies I was shoving into my gob over the CHristmas holidays. (Being a baker can be hazardous to your waist!
