lyrica and wine

OK - can anyone who has taken Lyrica and Cymbalta in conjunction with each other please give me your experiences --- and how long you've been taking them? I've been temporarily "diagnosed" with neuropathic pain issues (think Fibromyalgia). Waiting on some final test results to rule out any other Autoimmune Disease - but I believe I'll be finally diagnosed as Fibromyalgia. My Rheumatologist / Internist has prescribed Lyrica and Cymbalta together.

It only makes you tired? Does it stop any of the pains associated with Fibro? Or any muscle aches/pains? Any other side effects?

I have tried celebrex, Lyrica, Cymbalta and Savella and none of these provide me with any relief. The only thing that helps is Oxycontin, but drs. are relunctant to prescribe on an ongoing basis. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

I went out last night and had one to many drinks. My eyes started to drive me crazy. Couldn't focus on anything, double vision, felt like to much pressure right behind my eyes. I am guessing MS and fine red wine don't exactly mix? On the plus side waking up this morning my eyes feel a little sore but that's it, but vision is good.

This was an excellent choice, as it helps with my anxiety, I use less clonazepam and I feel less drowsy. Lyrica did give me blurred vision and extra paranoia at the start, and that was indeed awful for the first couple weeks as I upped my dosage! After the initial troubles, I found that it really was better than gabapentin for me now. I have not gained weight, but remain the same weight I call my meds weight. I just try to remain active and not pig out.

Cymbalta has also had reports of causeing suicidal thoughts and on a molecular leval has a lot of simularities with lyrica so be catreful and stay in close contact with your doctor and us. I take lyrica 150Mg 3x per day and have never had that side effect but I keep a close watch. I also take an antidepresant called trazodone whitch is an older drug but one that is very easy to get along with. Best of luck and God bless.

My Dr was going to prescribe me lyrica for shingles pain but I was hesitant and refused at the time. I did some research on it when I got home and actually found that lyrica is approved in eroupe for anxiety. I also read reviews of people taking it for other things and found that it helped with their anxiety. Glad to know it is working for you. What dosage are you on?Where your prescribed the lyrcia for anxiety or something else? Hope it continues to help you.

You can get addicted to lyrica, it is a controlled substance. but if they work for you and take away the pain and you know you are gonna have to take them the rest of your life, who care.

I am in the same position with my husband. He is taking Lyrica and we would like to try having our first child. I know this was two years ago, but did your husband end up going off the Lyrica before you conceived?

Ive been on lyrica and nuvigil fro fibro pain and fatigue, and just found out I'm pregnant. I'm just wondering if anyone else has taken either one of those while pregnant. I've stopped them for i was on only 50 mg of lyrica and about 100 of nuvigil. but I'm still worried, and i feel like I've been hit by a train once again, the pain is almost unbearable, i know my doc personally, have an appt. with him for the 12th.

I am taking 300 mg of Lyrica a day. I am having heavy swelling in my hands, feet and ankles and doctor put me on Lasix. It is helping a bit but still uncomfortable and pain. I've put a lot of weight on and am also having bad memory problems (can't find my words) and blurry vision. Is there anything that can be done that doesn't require me to get off of Lyrica? it really helps my pain. If I have to get off of it what is the best way to do so?

my question is the dr. prescribed lyrica for me and yesterday when i took it, i was feeling pretty weird and didn't really have the feeling of needing to take my methadone (35mg.), but i took it. Today i thought i might try not to take it. has anyone ever heard of lyrica for methadone withdrawel. it is very expensive at 300.00 a month, but i pay 420.00 month for the clininc. if anyone has heard is lyrica addciting?

I have been on lyrica for a while now. My doctor has increased the doseage and I am gaining weight in my stomach like crazy. Not sure what is going on with that, I don't want to gain any more weight than I am already carrying, which is alot. Next week I will be starting a heart healthy diet, my mom lives with me and has been seeing a cardiologist, so I figure that may help. If the diet doesn't help I may have to stop taking the lyrica.

Hi, I take 75mg when needed for RLS and neuropothy, and it lays me out! I mean, a full on sleep. I was prescribed 75mg twice a day, but just couldnt take it and even come close to functioning. I keep it around now to help with W/D's and use it when i get spastic pain in my feet. It works great for that. Im sorry, but I dont get w/d from Lyrica and cant really help you with kinda dose. Im a big guy too, 6'2" and 220 pounds and that stuff layes me out!

What exactly are cymbalta and lyrica? Aren't they anti-depressants? How do they help with the pain? Do they help with chronic fatigue as well? I have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue, and the aches and pains(especially legs from my thighs to my ankels) are leading the doctor to think fibromyalgia. I was just wondering about these meds because I NEED some relief and I've heard many mentions of these meds. Can they be taken with provigil?

I also started having breast milk without being pregnant. My pharmacist and Dr took me off of Lyrica and the ticks slowed down and the breast milk went away. Pain became intolerable so they switched me to Lamectal and I have started breast milk again and well as a little more of the ticks than I had without any of the meds. Anyone with any ideas? I need the meds but I don't want the lactation to hurt my body in the long run.

hello, i am not much of an alcohol drinker but the other night we had pizza and cake and 4 glasses of wine for a birthday party and later that night i woke up with severe pains in my lower chest that went straight through to my back and it was really worse than labor i have 3 kids so i know, anyway my doctor says its from wine and i can no longer drink it, that seems crazy to me is this possible?

as a breast cancer survivor and wine lover i cant help but feel guilty every time i pour a glass of wine. do any of you know of a correlation between the 2. i know it isnt advised but just trying to hear some opinions.

I felt my intestines churning and woke up with signs of diarrhea on my underwear. Last evening, again after a great meal and red wine, I took a Tums. In the morning, same thing -- diarrhea signs on my underwear!! Does anybody know if antacids interact with red wine to cause diarrhea?

d had for years, it hurt so much it used to take me quite a while just to get out of bed, and for me, the day after I took my first Lyrica pill, I felt no pain and got out of bed easily! Let us know what happens, if you have time.

I dont think anyone should ever drink knowingly pregnant u just cant be sure (im not talking about ppl drinking before they know) ur body is not just urs anymore and drinking while bfing u can do but pumping and dumping does not get rid of the alcohol any faster u have a time frame that u cant feed baby in depending on ur alcohol intake

I was on Lyrica and gained about 40 pounds, also made my hands and feet swell. I have heard it works wonders for some just not me. Still trying to lose the weight and it has been about a year. I have never taken Suboxone so can't tell you about it..good luck. there are alot of wonderful people here that can help you more.
