Avatar f tn I am wondering if there is another med for nerve pain besides Lyrica and Neurontnin? I have tried both. I am taking 200mg of Lyrica 2x a day right now and I feel like I have a 9 volt battery stuck to my tongue. I have 8-10 other random hot needle spots right now among tingling and other typical annoying parasthesias. I did just finish a steriod treatment and have trouble coming down from it.
Avatar n tn I was addicted to benzos and it is a very serious addiction. I was taking 3mg bars twice a day for 5 months. Very addictive. When I ran out, the withdrawals are dangerous. I called my doc, and he said "Get in here NOW". That's how dangerous benzo withdrawals are. He prescribed me Lyrica- its a nerve pain drug for shingles, non narcotic, non addictive, that binds to the same receptors that ben's do in the brain.
Avatar m tn t want to be taken lyrica and then when the opiate withdrawals are better/gone and I decide to quit taking the lyrica the opiate withdrawals come back and it's like opiate withdrawals all over again (like day 1). I know lyrica isn't a narcotic and isn't a big habit former unless it's really abused, but I just want to know that lyrica and hydrocodien have none of the same ingredients or substances and it won't be like me still taking the hydrocodien??
Avatar n tn Hello, I very much need an answer because my doctor will not give me a straight answer. I'm currently on Lamictal (800mg a day) and Zonegran (200mg a day) and I'm a college student so I tend to drink. I've never had a seizure while consuming alcohol but im terrified when doing so. So heres my question... When I drink (beer) with my meds, will it bring on a seizure? or just enhance the side effects? Please I very much need to know asap! Maybe even stories would helpl too.
Avatar m tn This was an excellent choice, as it helps with my anxiety, I use less clonazepam and I feel less drowsy. Lyrica did give me blurred vision and extra paranoia at the start, and that was indeed awful for the first couple weeks as I upped my dosage! After the initial troubles, I found that it really was better than gabapentin for me now. I have not gained weight, but remain the same weight I call my meds weight. I just try to remain active and not pig out.
Avatar f tn I managed to get off them by swapping to a medication called Lyrica, i have also read stories of people having great success while taking Lyrica and its older weaker version Gabapentin, these drugs where originally designed to help suffers of seizures but have been found to be very helpful for many other things.

Avatar m tn My Dr was going to prescribe me lyrica for shingles pain but I was hesitant and refused at the time. I did some research on it when I got home and actually found that lyrica is approved in eroupe for anxiety. I also read reviews of people taking it for other things and found that it helped with their anxiety. Glad to know it is working for you. What dosage are you on?Where your prescribed the lyrcia for anxiety or something else? Hope it continues to help you.
394774 tn?1235070839 You can get addicted to lyrica, it is a controlled substance. but if they work for you and take away the pain and you know you are gonna have to take them the rest of your life, who care.

I've put a lot of weight on and am also having bad memory problems (can't find my words) and blurry vision. 1985289 tn?1328579594 my question is the dr. prescribed lyrica for me and yesterday when i took it, i was feeling pretty weird and didn't really have the feeling of needing to take my methadone (35mg.), but i took it. 1396846 tn?1332459510 I have been on lyrica for a while now. My doctor has increased the doseage and I am gaining weight in my stomach like crazy. Not sure what is going on with that, I don't want to gain any more weight than I am already carrying, which is alot. Next week I will be starting a heart healthy diet, my mom lives with me and has been seeing a cardiologist, so I figure that may help. If the diet doesn't help I may have to stop taking the lyrica.
Avatar n tn I am 5 months pregnant and I feel like since I became pregnant that I crave weed more than I did not pregnant. I have no appetite unless i smoke. Is this a bad thing? Can marijuana harm my baby?
478403 tn?1266546009 Hi, I take 75mg when needed for RLS and neuropothy, and it lays me out! I mean, a full on sleep. I was prescribed 75mg twice a day, but just couldnt take it and even come close to functioning. I keep it around now to help with W/D's and use it when i get spastic pain in my feet. It works great for that. Im sorry, but I dont get w/d from Lyrica and cant really help you with kinda dose. Im a big guy too, 6'2" and 220 pounds and that stuff layes me out!
Avatar m tn The weed is a mild hallucinogen so the main thing it will do is intensify your psychosis a little. I used to smoke weed to deal with my schizoaffective/bipolar symptoms and it helped for a while. If you're taking the antipsychotics then you should cut WAY down on the weed. Your body has to fight through everything you put in it to keep you healthy and if it's trying to use the AP's to fix your mental issues, it'll be fighting through the THC to get to your brain.
Avatar m tn t know if the medication with the weed is good or if it is making my condition worse in noticeably but as of right now I have had literally no problems with smoking while having svt and being ON medication. I have no idea if you will be ok smoking weed while having svt and being off medication.
Avatar f tn While I was undiagnosed, I was on Neurontin for a couple of months and then tried Lyrica. I do think Lyrica relieved more pain, but it did cause me more side effects and in the end, I was not happy with the balance of relief vs. complications. Lyrica made me feel more dizzy and confused. For example, I would take my dose, and within minutes I wouldn't remember if I had taken it yet or not. That made me uncomfortable.
Avatar f tn What exactly are cymbalta and lyrica? Aren't they anti-depressants? How do they help with the pain? Do they help with chronic fatigue as well? I have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue, and the aches and pains(especially legs from my thighs to my ankels) are leading the doctor to think fibromyalgia. I was just wondering about these meds because I NEED some relief and I've heard many mentions of these meds. Can they be taken with provigil?
Avatar n tn hey this is a super old thread but just incase someone is out there looking for answers, I'll add my 2 cents. I've been diabetic for 20 years now. I'm 28. I've been a regular pot user for probably 10 years. I firmly believe that used (not excessively) for diabetics, that pot can help a vast number diabetic complications and symptoms. This has been backed up recently by research on weed and diabetes.
