Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica and tiredness

lyrica

Avatar n tn the neuropathy I had has been exacerbated by Lyrica, although lessened in severity overall; very dry throat and mouth; Brain zaps or shivers (these occur along the back of my scalp/head but sometimes across the sides); strong sinus issues; chronic tiredness/fatigue; insomnia but less so now; incredible itchiness; my penis is numb; erectile dysfunction; sweating, crying or just bursting into tears. This drug is a nightmare. Thank you.

4074293 tn?1351896693 I took it and did not help the pain. I complained about the tiredness and the slow mind and he doubled the dose. I took it thinking the fog would go away. It did not and i could not tell any difference in the pain. I quit taking it 2 weeks ago when I ran out and the pharmacy was giving me trouble again. So i just cut back then stopped. I am no worse than I was when I was taking it. And I can think now. Talking to the doctor next week to try something else.
Avatar f tn Help I was diagnosed 6 years ago and now take Lyrica, Cymbalta and Celebrex for RSD. I have gained 43 punds along with tiredness, fuzzy thinking at times. My pain is in control but the weight gain is aggravating my knee pain and scoliosis of the spine. It is hard to have the stamina I need to work with children in my center sometimes. Is there something else I can take. I really want to know what exercises work since eating doesn't move the scale.
Avatar n tn The common side effects of neurontin are blurred vision, dizziness, and muscle ache, swelling of hands, feet, or lower legs, trembling and unusual tiredness. Lyrica is also known to cause general weakness, lethargy, blurred vision, ascites, facial edema, generalized edema etc. You must consult your neurologist to change your medications since both of these can cause swelling and you have swelling in both the legs.
Avatar n tn i have fibromialgia and arthritis and bone spurs in my neck and shingles should i be taking all this and will the tierdness ever go away?
Avatar f tn ve heard both good and bad reports about those taking Lyrica. The results would depend upon your body and dosage. Lyrica has numerous side-effects (there is an article in our Health Pages regarding this). It can make one feel dizzy and off balance and also causes cognitive problems. I was taking it with good pain results, but not enough to offset the way it made me feel, so I discontinued it. If it isn't helping your pain at all it may not be beneficial for you to continue taking it.
Avatar m tn While Lyrica may sound good and may even make you feel a little better to start with, PLEASE be very suspect and careful with it. I am part of the Lyrica Survivors group on Facebook. There is a class-action lawsuit in development with this due to all of the horrors we have face as a result of Lyrica. I would advise you to check out the Facebook page if you are on or considering taking Lyrica.
Avatar f tn As I live in Kent, I would like to know how and who I can go to to see if I have Fibromyalgia, my doctor mentioned I may have had this two years ago, and had been perscribed lyrica to help me, but didn't really go into detail whether I really have/had it, although I feel I have the symptoms. There wasn't any mention of any other help.
Avatar m tn t handle the weight gain, tiredness and bloating that I felt while on Lyrica, although it helped me immensely with pain. Lyrica is an anti-seizure medication too. I switched to Topamax because it didn't cause weight gain and my insurance finally covered it and I was very curious about it. Topamax has helped me with my migraines and is more energizing than Lyrica, although my doctor has told me that many people get tired on it.
Avatar f tn Not sure if it is the fibro or the lyrica? I was good yesterday. I hate this how you can be good one day and not the next. Weird. Is it like this for everyone with fibromyalgia? I am waiting for blood test results from last Wed. with the lupus/RA, etc. that was drawn. Thank you all for your feedback. The doctor mentioned the neurotin before the lyrica. I said I wanted to try lyrica because a friend swears by it. I do have some eye pain.
Avatar m tn This was an excellent choice, as it helps with my anxiety, I use less clonazepam and I feel less drowsy. Lyrica did give me blurred vision and extra paranoia at the start, and that was indeed awful for the first couple weeks as I upped my dosage! After the initial troubles, I found that it really was better than gabapentin for me now. I have not gained weight, but remain the same weight I call my meds weight. I just try to remain active and not pig out.
Avatar f tn I've been off Darvocet for 8 days now (W/D are done) and I am down to 2 Tramadol a day (from 8 last Tuesday) and as I've tapered my pain is pretty bad. Today my doctor gave me Lyrica and says it's in no way addicting. But I heard the same thing when I was prescribed Tramadol. I don't see info about it here so I'm thinking it's OK, but would like to hear from anyone who has taken this and can tell me if it works and if there's any risk.
4310107 tn?1352840858 Lyrica is usually prescribed for depression and muscle pain. True, it won't do much for numbness. Am confused as you said at first that your 2 MRI's were pretty conclusive but did not elaborate. Then that the Dr. never did an MRI Neurontin is what many MS patients use for pain. You also state that the pain and numbness is bilateral, (both feet) which is not how MS usually presents.
Avatar f tn 1. Do I really need a higher dose to rid trigeminal nerve symptons? 2. Is gabapentin contributing to balance and gait issues? 3. Are there any other alternatives aside from Lyrica? I thank you in advance for sharing your wisdom.
Avatar m tn I need relief and I have 3 kids and can barely keep up with them and my house plus my husband is deployed. HELP!! I need answers!
712802 tn?1274645485 Cymbalta has also had reports of causeing suicidal thoughts and on a molecular leval has a lot of simularities with lyrica so be catreful and stay in close contact with your doctor and us. I take lyrica 150Mg 3x per day and have never had that side effect but I keep a close watch. I also take an antidepresant called trazodone whitch is an older drug but one that is very easy to get along with. Best of luck and God bless.
Avatar m tn My Dr was going to prescribe me lyrica for shingles pain but I was hesitant and refused at the time. I did some research on it when I got home and actually found that lyrica is approved in eroupe for anxiety. I also read reviews of people taking it for other things and found that it helped with their anxiety. Glad to know it is working for you. What dosage are you on?Where your prescribed the lyrcia for anxiety or something else? Hope it continues to help you.
394774 tn?1235070839 You can get addicted to lyrica, it is a controlled substance. but if they work for you and take away the pain and you know you are gonna have to take them the rest of your life, who care.
Avatar n tn I am in the same position with my husband. He is taking Lyrica and we would like to try having our first child. I know this was two years ago, but did your husband end up going off the Lyrica before you conceived?
Avatar f tn Ive been on lyrica and nuvigil fro fibro pain and fatigue, and just found out I'm pregnant. I'm just wondering if anyone else has taken either one of those while pregnant. I've stopped them for i was on only 50 mg of lyrica and about 100 of nuvigil. but I'm still worried, and i feel like I've been hit by a train once again, the pain is almost unbearable, i know my doc personally, have an appt. with him for the 12th.
483733 tn?1326798446 I am taking 300 mg of Lyrica a day. I am having heavy swelling in my hands, feet and ankles and doctor put me on Lasix. It is helping a bit but still uncomfortable and pain. I've put a lot of weight on and am also having bad memory problems (can't find my words) and blurry vision. Is there anything that can be done that doesn't require me to get off of Lyrica? it really helps my pain. If I have to get off of it what is the best way to do so?

1396846 tn?1332459510 I have been on lyrica for a while now. My doctor has increased the doseage and I am gaining weight in my stomach like crazy. Not sure what is going on with that, I don't want to gain any more weight than I am already carrying, which is alot. Next week I will be starting a heart healthy diet, my mom lives with me and has been seeing a cardiologist, so I figure that may help. If the diet doesn't help I may have to stop taking the lyrica.
