lyrica

Avatar n tn Has anyone had success for pain cramps or stomach using lyrica?
Avatar m tn Lyrica was a miracle for my nerve pain for 2 1/2 years. I went off it since the pain was gone and started to have serious anxiety problems. I finally connected the dots! The Lyrica was also solving my aniexty attack problem. I went back on it. I never had weight gain or problems with sleepiness. Everyone is different. You might be one of the lucky ones like me.
Avatar m tn Hi there. I am taking lyrica for general anxiety. I was on 50 mg taken at night together with rivotril. My psychiatrist reduced my dosage of lyrica to 25mg. Apart from general anxiety, I understand it helps with pain and induces sleep. I sleep quite well now, and in the morning and day time, I don't feel too tired. My doctor feels lyrica suits me and I may be on it for a while longer. Does it help with your pain?
Avatar n tn I take Lyrica, and I've gained weight, but I have so many other things that could be the cause, I can't really point to the Lyrica. It helps my nerve pain, and that is worth a lot. I like Alex's tips; I'll try them (for the most part, ha ha). I take my highest dose of Lyrica at bedtime, and when I have trouble sleeping, I have a horrible craving for carbohydrates, like wheat thins, rice cakes, etc. Now I wonder if it's related to the Lyrica...
Avatar m tn then i would have to say give it a try, it is pricey, and sometimes insurance dosent always cover it, so if not covered by insurance, ask about neurontin, i take neurontin 600 mgs three times a day and it helps with my everyday pain quite well. lyrica and neurontin are in the same class of drugs and are not physically addictive.

1396846 tn?1332459510 I have been on lyrica for a while now. My doctor has increased the doseage and I am gaining weight in my stomach like crazy. Not sure what is going on with that, I don't want to gain any more weight than I am already carrying, which is alot. Next week I will be starting a heart healthy diet, my mom lives with me and has been seeing a cardiologist, so I figure that may help. If the diet doesn't help I may have to stop taking the lyrica.
Avatar m tn I very seldom use more, I took the first Lyrica last night and feel pretty sluggish today. Has anyone on here taken this and had any luck with it? I have read some bad things about it which I guess all of these pain killers have bad side effects. I just want to know has it helped anyone cut back on the other pain killers.
217229 tn?1192762404 I take Lyrica and Cymbalta and they help with the neuropathic pain associated with the Fibro and Diabectic nerve pain. The Cymbalta helps with a little pain. Side effects for me? I'm dizzy and sleepy in the daytime, but I take other things like Vicodin 750, Klonopin, Flexeril and Ambien, and Paxil. I gained weight with the Diabetes, so I can't tell. But I loved carbs before all of this.
872994 tn?1247865206 Maybe you should ask your pcp to refer you to a pain management doctor? There are a lot of different ways to treat pain depending on type. With Fibro Lyrica helps me. Some people can't take Lyrica, though. Good luck.
1547952 tn?1293907781 The only pain meds I am on are Lyrica and muscle relaxers so I just make due, but the pain got out of control in December and I got steroids for it. Not sure that I have been much help but just wanted to let you know taht you are not alone in this pain.
Avatar f tn However, whilst it was amazing for about three weeks, within days of increasing from 225mg a day to 300mg I lost control of my bladder three times in a week, then started to experience pain and soreness in the tendons of my feet, then my elbows, and two weeks ago (when I stopped talking it) my pinky and ring fingers on one hand have gone almost completely numb.
Avatar f tn Have had to stop taking all pain meds except tylenol because of stomach upsets which is causing UC flares daily. Had to quit Lyrica due to heavyconcrete like pain in legs and severe swelling of feet and legs. Cannot take any antiinflammatories due to stomach pains. All pain meds also cause stomach pain. Besides stretching exercises, heat, medicated muscle rubs, music, pet, imargery and deep breathing what can I do? I am seeing psychiatrist who wants to tweak my meds.
Avatar n tn My pain management doctor just prescribed Lyrica and I'm a little nervous of taking it after reading about some of the side effects. When I read that it can increase thoughts about suicide that really got my attention. My doc prescribed it for nerve pain but I'm not sure about the risk reward. In other words it may get rid of my nerve pain but then make me depressed and suicidal. NOT COOL!! Has anyone out there taken it for awhile and how did you do on it?
Avatar m tn I take Remeron for depression and Lyrica for the fibro pain. I could not sleep at night until I started the Lyrica and now I sleep right through. I wonder if it is the Cymbalta affecting your sleep.
712802 tn?1274645485 Hi, I take lyrica 225mg 2 x a day. I have been and still am where you are. I have had a few bad days where I was looking at that option. I was able to get help from here which was great. I have not talked to any of my Dr's about this due to problems I already have at work and did not want anything like this to help my work mess with me any more than they already are. I am on alot of different drugs so I can not say that it was the lyrica.
Avatar f tn The pain hits me sometimes like a tonn of bricks and I feel worse than ever. I do not know how well the Lyrica is really working, I am still in pain. But everything takes time. I am about to start Suboxone, which you might suggest to help with your withdrawls from the fentanyl, it is real helpful with witdrawls and also for pain. OH to REALLY ANSWER YOUR QUESTION: I was sleepy for about the first week and a half and it went away. Hope you feel better soon!
394774 tn?1235070839 You can get addicted to lyrica, it is a controlled substance. but if they work for you and take away the pain and you know you are gonna have to take them the rest of your life, who care.
Avatar m tn A few days ago, I decided I was in too much physical pain and started researching non-narcotic pain killers. My pain doctor prescribed Lyrica about a year ago, but I wanted to stick to my Hydro/Tram/Benzo cocktail at that time. Also, when I received my venomous bite that also sliced through my hand breaking it and slicing through nerves and tendons, the hand specialist recommended Lyrica. I actually tried it a few days ago and it it awesome at just 50 MG 2 times a day.
483733 tn?1326798446 I am taking 300 mg of Lyrica a day. I am having heavy swelling in my hands, feet and ankles and doctor put me on Lasix. It is helping a bit but still uncomfortable and pain. I've put a lot of weight on and am also having bad memory problems (can't find my words) and blurry vision. Is there anything that can be done that doesn't require me to get off of Lyrica? it really helps my pain. If I have to get off of it what is the best way to do so?
1100837 tn?1267668675 t do a thing except make my hair fall out and irritate my stomach, so I stopped taking it. Other pain relievers make me more tired than I already am and almost unable to function. I'm a 51 yo Assistant Principal of a NYC elementary school. Right now, retiremement is not an option and I'm trying not to go on a leave. My job won't wait for me, besides which I don't want to bail out on the children or the staff right now. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Ive been on lyrica and nuvigil fro fibro pain and fatigue, and just found out I'm pregnant. I'm just wondering if anyone else has taken either one of those while pregnant. I've stopped them for i was on only 50 mg of lyrica and about 100 of nuvigil. but I'm still worried, and i feel like I've been hit by a train once again, the pain is almost unbearable, i know my doc personally, have an appt. with him for the 12th.
Avatar f tn While I was undiagnosed, I was on Neurontin for a couple of months and then tried Lyrica. I do think Lyrica relieved more pain, but it did cause me more side effects and in the end, I was not happy with the balance of relief vs. complications. Lyrica made me feel more dizzy and confused. For example, I would take my dose, and within minutes I wouldn't remember if I had taken it yet or not. That made me uncomfortable.
1985289 tn?1328579594 my question is the dr. prescribed lyrica for me and yesterday when i took it, i was feeling pretty weird and didn't really have the feeling of needing to take my methadone (35mg.), but i took it. Today i thought i might try not to take it. has anyone ever heard of lyrica for methadone withdrawel. it is very expensive at 300.00 a month, but i pay 420.00 month for the clininc. if anyone has heard is lyrica addciting?
779797 tn?1263618235 If you had been taking the percs for a while and it did what you needed it to do and then youstarted Lyrica and got real dizzy, I would say the Lyrica made you dizzy. I took Lyrica for a while and it always made me dizzy for 3-5 days until my system got used to it and then I was fine. Just something to think about...good luck!
Avatar m tn rather it sounds like you may actually have a stomach flu perhaps. Muscle and joint aches and pain, plus throwing up, goes with a bacterial infection, you'll get a fever where it makes your body ache, and if it's a stomach flu, it'll upset your tummy. Have a regular doc check you for a stomach flu or any flu, and also perhaps take a stool sample to see what's floating around in your guts, and also a blood draw to see if a bacteria shows up in your blood.
