lyrica

Avatar f tn Have been diagnosed with fibromyalga. On lyrica. Could this frequent! Numbness and pain in my hands be from the lyric (side effect) or Could there be another issue? Do have herniated disc with causes a lot of back pain. Only 56 years of age, very active and would like to stay that way.
97654 tn?1214348650 ve had a horrible experience with Solumedrol as well.....Back in March I had extreme leg and groin numbness and went on IV Solumedrol for 3 days....I had a nasty reaction to it, but it DID take away the numbness and vision problems almost immediately....Well, within 48 hours anyway..... In May the left side of my head and face went numb and because I was visiting the MS Clinic at that time, I declined the Solumedrol treatment.....That numbness didn't go away for 20 days.....
Avatar f tn I have been perscribed Lyrica for motor and century nerve damage. I do not have pain but tingling and burning sensation, which is sporadic, the burning that is, the numbness is constant. This throws my balance off and I am not able to walk without cane, walker, or holding onto something. Should I see a Neurologist? Is Lyrica something that will help with the numbnes? I take blood pressure medicine, warfarin, anti- depressant and Nexium. Should I take Lyrica? Than you.
Avatar f tn I just find that neurontin has basically no side effect and Lyrica does. I took Lyrica and the next day I was 10 times worse off due to pain and fatigue. But you have to decide for yourself whether this is the right drug for you. Remember if you do take it you have to have a card with you that states this in case of emergency where you cannot tell them yourself. I just read this site and was warned to not get pregnant that it would not be a good idea.
131817 tn?1209529311 , although he warned me I would be sleepy as I upped my dose of Lyrica. I now beleive him and am upping it a pill at a time. Yep, I am sleepy, but at what cost? I won't have the debilitating pain. Yes, it will be debilitating to not be awake and functional for awhile, but what is my choice?
Avatar n tn Is there anyone who can suggest anything my mum can do to relieve this? (severe numbness and pins and needles in her fingers), If it is to do with degeneration of the spine are there any exercises (for an 86 year old with mobility problems, or drugs, or natural remedies that we can try? Many thanks, Chris Adamson This discussion is related to Numbness in Tip of Finger.

Avatar n tn I had a thalamic stroke December 7 and am now having pain and numbness and hypersensitivity on the affected side. This seems to shift and change day to day. What is the treatment, if any, and what is the chance this will go away over time?
Avatar m tn I am Hypothyroid and Fyabromyalgia patient,currently taking 88mcg levothyroxin/daily,75mg Lyrica/daily,B12 1000/daily and D vit 50000 IU/every two weeks. Please advice.
Avatar f tn Been told by a neuro Dr that what made me think I had neuropathy she has never diagnosed me with it and neuropathy cannot come and go. My internal med Dr has had me on Lyrica for a year and it helps allot with the shooting burning stabbing pains at night. But sometimes it gets real bad.
1655815 tn?1306930462 I just started the Lyrica today. I had taken the neuroratin and had the same side effects numbness all over my body head to toe. I stopped taking it as my 1st pain Dr. Told me it was a reaction to it. Im really scared about tge Lyrica doing the same thing. But im glad im not crazzzzyyyyy, i thought i was the only one that had that strange numbness!
Avatar f tn I do not know what my MRI results mean. Loss of disk height and disk desiccation with endplate irregularity. Modic type 1 endplate edema. Central disk protrusion exerts minimal mass effect on bilateral transverse nerve roots. No signifian't spinal stenosis. Mild bilateral forminal narrowing. Mild facet arthropathy bilaterally. I have tingling and numbness in both legs. I have had this for 2 years. An epidural steroid injection helped the left leg for awhile but not the right leg.
Avatar f tn But today almost no pain but tremors and severe numbness in my right hand. I am taking lyrica but a very low dose also oxycontin and percocept and flexoril. This is the first time Ive experienced numbness with out major pain first I receive trigger point injections and a opsipital nerve block monthly the injections are for muscle spasms.
Avatar f tn I had hypothalamic lacunar stroke on 01/09/09 with subsequent thalamic pain syndrome on my right side arm/hand & leg/foot/toes. Constant tingling/burning/tightness/numbness & cold my entire right side of body. After stroke, my doctor immediately put me on 75 mg Plavix same day. After putting up with syndrome for 4 weeks, I went to my neurologist Thursday, 02/05/09 & told him the pain was really getting to me. He prescribed Lyrica 75 mg twice a day.
Avatar f tn I currently take Trileptal for Partial Seizures (my seizures are well controlled with it) but whenever I miss 2 doses in a row (which I obviously try not to), I experience numbness and tingling in my face and head. I know these are symptoms of MS and I know Trileptal can be used for MS patients to help with nerve issues. I guess my question is should I see my neurologist? Is it possible that this face numbness/tingling sensations are symptoms of MS? FYI I am a 33 yr old female.
Avatar f tn I woke the other night to such sever numbness and pain in my legs and feet I was crying. I work out and have to walk everywhere due to I have lost a lot fo my vision and I am back in school studyingprelaw. i am hoping the lyrica helps with the pain and does not make me gain weight. I also have to see if the medicair part D prescription insurance pays for it or I have to say no and double up on the other med.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing over the past several months numbness and tingling in my face. While it started as only occassionally, it is now occuring on a daily basis, although not all day, with increasing duration. It primarily occurs on my left side but does extend across my forehead. I have no pain or headache with symptoms. I am a 38 years female, on no medications whatsover, not under any undue stress, good bp, heart rate, etc., slightly overweight, but otherwise completely healthy.
Avatar f tn None seemed to help my groin pain but Lyrica and Gabapentin did seem to alleviate the leg numbness. Two weeks ago I had to nerve blocks to my iliohypogastric nerves near my groin. The blocks only felt fine for one day then they made the pain worse and increased the pins and needles feeling in my hips and lower back. Kind of reaching around the were the nerves originate in the spine. I'm really not sure where to go from here.
Avatar f tn For two years I have been experiencing severe pain in my left hip which radiates down the leg to the foot, as well as numbness and tingling in both feet and pain in the toes. The pain is worst when sitting down, lying down or bending over, and as a result i stand most of my waking hours. It is suspected to be sciatica, but I have not been able to obtain a diagnosis, largely because the CT_Scan and MRI of the lower back, which show some minor problems, show no nerve compression.
Avatar n tn I had my right knee replaced four years ago and the numbness in my feet never went away. I recently had my left knee replaced and now the numbness has increased from just the ball of my feet to all except the heal area on both feet. I believe it is a result of the Epidural for pain. I have been checked for nerve sensation and they don't find anything wrong, but that doesn't keep it from feeling numb.
451366 tn?1211304932 ve been on cymbalta for a year and have been put on lyrica (25) for a month has helpped with restless legs and Fibro abit, just increased to 75mg, had problems.
Avatar m tn all this time not connecting this to the lyrica. I ended up in an ER with heart palls and anxiety through the roof. felt like I was on a bad acid trip with speed involved. not that I tried either of those since high school. my menopause shipped sailed many years ago, but hot flashes big time.....pins and needles feeling all over my body. like a nettles sting. even my tongue. jaw clenching, stomach problems. too many side effects to list.
Avatar n tn Tremor is a common adverse effect of lyrica though in carpal tunnel syndrome you encounter tingling and numbness in the fingers, there is no mention of twitching. Fibromyalgia may cause fatigue, prolonged muscle spasms, twitching etc. so the thumb twitching could be due to fibromyalgia or a tremor as a result of pregabalin. Consult a neurologist for detailed workup on the cause of this thumb symptom since it is also causing so much of anxiety. Take care.
Avatar f tn The pain is a mixture of sensations, including heat and cold, burning, tingling, numbness, and sharp stabbing and underlying aching pain. It is intense in the area affected by the stroke, such as the face, extremities or trunk on one side, and is made worse by movement and temperature changes, especially cold temperatures." https://www.ninds.nih.gov/health-information/disorders/stroke What kind of rehabilitation therapy does he do? Physical or occupational therapy?
4310107 tn?1352840858 I have pain and numbness in my feet and left leg. My 2 MRI's were pretty conclusive. I had optic neuritis in 2009 - but Dr never did an MRI. Not sure what comes next exactly. I am on Lyrica until a Neuro can put me on something. The pharmacist said it would not help. Has anyone else tried lyrica.
