Lyrica and mobic

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica and mobic

lyrica

Avatar m tn Yes Ive tried lyrica and it did help, however Im with a new doctor now and he didnt want to prescribe it for some reason. I didnt really get into the why not, Im just hoping this Mobic will help. But from what I understand about it, its just a stronger NSAID so Im not sure how helpful its going to be with nerve pain. I have to go get a lumbar MRI to hopefully see what the deal is.
Avatar f tn I work for an Ortho Surgeon who specializes in knee and hip replacements and also sees a lot of patients with severe arthritis, he does use Mobic alot but also uses the Arthrotec. Find a good dr. and get some definitive answers then proceed from there as far as what medications will help you. Keep us posted and welcome to the forum.
Avatar n tn Help me understand and emg : mild axonopathy of the left lower c4-c5cervical nerve roots..
Avatar m tn Also, when I received my venomous bite that also sliced through my hand breaking it and slicing through nerves and tendons, the hand specialist recommended Lyrica. I actually tried it a few days ago and it it awesome at just 50 MG 2 times a day. No more pain and I sleep like a baby. It acts directly on nerves by mimicking nerve fluid and calms them. The nerves control muscles, so it calms them too. It also helps with anxiety. So I guess there are non-narcotic ways to control pain.
Avatar f tn I guess I would just like to know can there be a sweet/foul taste that alternates with this metallic taste. I take prednisone (5mgs), mobic, and lyrica and have for over two years. Could any of these be the cause? Does anyone know if this taste thing could just disappear just like it one day appeared. It's horrible. I eat to cover it up but nothing makes it go away. I brush constantly, some days I constantly keep hard candy in my mouth. Does anyone know if this will get worse?
Avatar m tn ve had accupuncture, physical therapy, massage therapy, TENS stimulator, and RX- mobic, neurontin, lyrica. Nothing works. My nuero surgeon has now referred me to another neurosurgeon who specializes in pain relief. They think it may be scar tissue around the nerve. Have you ever heard of this.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar n tn in 2002 i started complaining about chronic pain all over my body and specially around my pelvic area they gave me an x ray and stated i had spondylosis gave me medications such as lyrica cymbalta and mobic and associated my depression, anxiety, sleeplessness and fatigue, stiffness and pain all over my body due to the spondylosis and arthritis I was even told i was over weight and needed to loose weight.
1283286 tn?1312911966 I've had several nerve root blocks as well as epidural injections. Some worked for awhile and some not at all. There are several different kinds of injections such as facet joints, nerve blocks, and even a chemical that sort of burns the nerve ends. After a double cervical fusion and a triple bilateral lumbar fusion, I am back to getting more injections. (I actually have a sacroiliac steriod injection tomorrow.) I am also taking gabapentin, mobic and flexeril.
4939681 tn?1361299299 I have a combo of neuro pain and inflammatory pain. The inflammatory pain is in the joints, chest, and everywhere the lymph vessels flow and pool. The neuro pain is what I think this "flu-like" pain is coming from. For instance my skin hurts to exist. I don't want anything to touch it or even the wind to blow on it. Kinda like sunburn, but as though every nerve ending in my skin is exaggerated 10 fold. I think the pain in the bottom of the feet is neuro also.
Avatar f tn t so I am not waiting on a consult for a 3rd neuro doc but I am not thinking of just asking my IM doc to refer me to a rheumy instead because I honestly think this is what i have. I am on mobic and if I dont take that I feel so much worse. I know I have arthritis in my hips back wrist shoulders knees, so I am certain what I am feeling is this.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if there is help to get meds that keep me narcotic free but actually helps the pain. I heard about Lyrica. Any suggestions? How about Mobic, Tramadol? are these ok?
Avatar m tn However, even the pharmacist had concerns about taking both Lodine and Mobic, as she said that they do the same thing and that I should take either one or the other. On top of that, the aspirin. She said it was entirely too many anti-inflammatory pills for one person to be taking. However, when I stated these concerns to the neurologist on my next visit, this is when he told me it was all a part of a “plan” he had to help me.
Avatar f tn Hi thanks. Toradol! Yes I've heard of that but haven't tried it. I'll research it and ask my doc. I take a 1x day nsaid called Mobic. (Meloxicam) that's working ok. But still need something for breakthrough pain. Thanks I'll check that out for sure.
787406 tn?1339203183 Methotrexate stopped the pain but I am sensitive to it, same with Plaquenil and lyrica. I am currently on methyl/Prednisone which I have been on since January 2010 and Mobic. They can't find the reason for my knees swelling which showed up overnight, they are constantly swollen now and worse in the mornings. The lymph glands were the same way, just showed up overnight and have stayed swollen. I have had the mylar rash and my cheeks are now stained from it.
420469 tn?1217647363 I have been on Neurontin, Tegretol, Topamax, Oxycodone, Advil, Tylenol, Prednisone. Heat, Cold and now Lyrica. The side effects of the Lyrica are not fun...slurring my words, blurry vision, balance trouble, twitching, jerking...you name it EXCEPT IT ISN'T HELPING THE PAIN!!! Sorry I can't offer any advice honey short of going to the doctor??? I know, what a stupid piece of advice eh? It's something to do with the pain and your brain not working because of it ya know?
Avatar n tn I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?
Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn ABout 4 years ago, I developed ice pick like stabs in my head through the roof of my mouth to the top of my head. I also had stabs in my right eye. My right nostril constantly dripped. i was put on Gabapentin (1500 mg) and did Ok for about 2 years. (the stabbing was not as painful/frequent) about 9 months ago I started to get worse.
Avatar f tn Sometimes I also have this severe pain in my face usually from my left eye to the center of my cheek it only lasts for a day or two and then comes and goes. Prescribed Lortab,Lyrica and mobic. Nothing helps the pain just takes the edge of. However, quit taking Lyrica. Was only taking it to sleep at night. I have been having trouble remember things such as the spelling of words and concentrating on what I am doing. It's getting really bad Can't remember even the easiest words.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
1489588 tn?1303998295 When I take Savella and Pristiq together, it works wonders. When both my pain dr and my psychiatrist got together and said I couldn't take them together, I became very depressed after getting off of Savella. I didn't want to kill myself, but I sure didn't want to live. Lyrica put me to sleep in horrible ways, Cymbalta doesn't work for me and anything like Prozac or Lexapro or Zoloft is candy to me. I also take Norco.
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
