lyrica

Avatar f tn Maybe I am going through withdrawal symptoms too from Effexor too. I was on Effexor and Lyrica. Effexor for depression but also for neuropathy pain in my fee also. It seemed the Lyrica and Effexor combined worked for the pain, I went to a neurologist and he took me off the Lyrica, which made me gain 60lbs! lol... and put me on Zonisamide. It has been great for my pain. But now that aI have been on it awhile I am feeling sick to my stomach every morning and my head feels fuzzy.
Avatar f tn Allow me to clarify my previous comment about my not sleeping much when on effexor 375mg/day. When taking lyrica as well, I sleep a lot during the day and can sleep fairly solidly at night - just not at a consistent time every night. Seems that lyrica's sedative effect on me trumps effexor's opposite effect. Damn meds.
2107676 tn?1388973859 I was on effexor as well and I am now on cybalta and I to had some wd but it was very min and the dif in the med I can tell a diff I like it a lot better hope u find it to be the same. Avatar f tn Since the Neurologist I was sent to after my ER visit and 24 hour hospital stay could not find anything specifically wrong other than a bulging disk in my neck, he started me on the Effexor at 150 mg and suggested I might go as high as 300. He felt since my dad had died suddenly in my early 20's I was experiencing some anxiety over that when the stroke scenario presented itself.
Avatar f tn i have had generalized anxiety (severe) for 12 yrs. currently only on 5 mg of lexapro only because i couldn't get off the last 5mg. i take clonazepam which is the only thing that works, but every couple of years i hit a wall and need to up the antidepressant. been on zoloft, paxil, celexa, effexor, lyrica, cipralex(lexapro), maoi's, etc..wondering if pristiq works, or maybe cymbalta? only snri i was on was effexor, which didn't do much but also had a brutal psych.

Avatar m tn I am extremely self conscious and run 40 minutes a day to try and lose the weight i gained on effexor xr. worst drug ever by the way. i am 23 years old and my parents are very involved with my life. they sometimes come with me to the doctor, so both them and my doctor no of my history with drug abuse. they are very concerned about me being on benzo's so my doctor is looking for alternatives. benzo's seem to be teh only things that work with no side effects.
Avatar f tn in someone who is hypersensitive to the chemicals or suffers from multiple chemical sensitivities (as most with FMS/CFS do). I had tried the Effexor, which is like Lyrica, and had behavioral changes and seizure like activity at bedtime. I didn't take another dose. bthnn - sorry to hear you had such a strong reaction to the Lyrica. Do you recall the dosage amount you were taking? Hope you are feeling better now.
Avatar m tn gabapentin, effexor, and carbemezepine. None of which worked. I am in an intense amount of pain and even have some difficulty walking. I spend most of my time now in bed. I am concerned with what may have even caused my b-12 to be low and whether I am suffering from an underlying condition as well that is also contributing to my chronic pain. Being on a college campus and far from home makes it difficult to receive proper treatment. Can someone please help me?
1069827 tn?1296650628 barbie I have taken Ultram, Ultracet, Effxor, Neurontin, Lyrica, Flexeril and pain meds. All had side effects or made me sick because of UC and IBS. Right now only doing 5mils of Fexeril at night, 20 mils of Tranxene 3 times daily and tylenol. Helping with sleep problems, eases pain just a bit and keeps me calm. Problem though is sleepy, loopy minded, and balance is bad. If you do not have stomach problems Flexeril might help you if you take several doses daily.
Avatar f tn I have been taken off of Effort and put on Lamictal,Lyrica, and Cymbalta. I am almost at a loss. I know that going to a gym and eating right would help but wondering if I am fighting a losing battle.
Avatar m tn Thank you very much for your response. I would like to say that my problems started 7 years ago with bad headache and pain in the throat. I was jogging, it was winter and pretty cold. After I got home I experienced first symptoms. The second day I had low grade fever, it lasted for 3 years!! And again, pain in the throat, bad headaches. For the last 7 years I can't even count how many times I was hospitalized.
1131131 tn?1275108488 There are other ADs you can try such as the SNRIs ( Cymbalta, Effexor ) or more GABA specific drugs like Lyrica or Neurotin. You must know one thing tho is that it takes time for the medication to take effect. It might take a month until you can see some improvements and you will have side effects because your body needs to adapt . Common side effect when starting are nausea and dizziness.
190673 tn?1259203266 I have been taking Effexor XR 450mg and Buproprion 450mg for a couple of years. I'm weaning off the Effexor, going onto Pristiq and continuing the Buproprion.
Avatar f tn For neuropathy and other sensations I had relief with both Cymbalta and Lyrica. The only downside to the Lyrica was difficulty with cognition and drowsiness. Savella (milnacipran) is the new medication and it works much the same as Cymbalta...it is an antidepressant. As uk2 mentioned, the patches help with pain as well. My current treatment is with Ultram for both FMS and RSD and Trazadone for sleep. It's much a 'trial and error'...
Avatar m tn would not take lexapro and effexor together. for effexor withdrawal i take omega3 fish oil caps twice a day//benadryl as needed for dizzyness\\ b12 sublingualtwice a day\\st. johns wort twice a day// vitamin d3 twice a day ---ibuprofen(motrin) as needed for muscle pain. as far as i am concerned, i will never take a prescription rx. for anxiety and depression again. i also have ptsd. i am sticking to st. johns wort and omega 3 fish oil caps. both will treat depression.
Avatar f tn is cymbalta safe to use for long periods of time also is lyrica safe for long time use?
Avatar n tn I switched from effexor to wellbutrin. I had to be on both medications at the same time for a long time because of the effexor withdrawal... it was so hard to come off the effexor, I was at the lowest dose for a very long time, 25mg, because I couldn't get off of it the withdrawal symptoms were too bad for me.
Avatar f tn I take Effexor for depression and forgot to bring it with me on a 3 day getaway with my 2 young boys. My girlfriend who was also there offered me a Xanax for the 8 hr. drive home just in case I lose it (my mind that is). I only took half and it seemed to work great. The drive was a breeze. Today however, I took my usual dosage of Effexor and now I'm feeling extremely detached. Like I just don't care about anything that is happening - good or bad.
Avatar n tn My doctor has suggested that I come off effexor (which i have been on for over 2 years) and start taking Wellbutrin XL. I was to take both of them for 1 week and then stop the effexor and take Wellbutrin only. I have not been feeling very good very tense, anxious, lightheaded and chest pains. I spoke to a pharmasist who suggested stopping the effexor straight away and continuing with the Wellbutrin.
Avatar m tn I have been weaning of 37.5 mg of Effexor for a week and a half taking it every other day. When can I start taking 25-50mg of 5Htp. Will this be safe to do? The Effexor is driving me crazy (sweating, fatigue, nausea..etc)..
