Lyrica and cymbalta taken together

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica and cymbalta taken together

lyrica

Avatar f tn had told me not to take cymbalta and lyrica together... but again you NEED to consult a professional on that. I was not able to take either meds because they made me too loopy (swimmy headed). So I do take a benadryll to help me sleep. Good deep sleep is very important.
217229 tn?1192762404 Hi there, okay I have taken Neurontin and Cymbalta together. Neurontin is similar to Lyrica, but is a lot cheaper. I could not tolerate the Cymbalta at all. It made me sick with vertigo, nausea, and it didn't help with the pain. I was prescribed this when they first thought I had fibromyalgia and then later found out it was Still's. I have friends that take Lyrica, a lot of them are on the MS forum here and they had little luck with the med itself.
394774 tn?1235070839 I had some lyrica left before being prescribed the cymbalta and noticed that by taking only one cymbalta in the morning and one of the left over lyrica at night with the AmbienCr I have been feeling a whole lot better. If the weather is bad then I take Vicodin for pain as needed. So maybe it just may work for you and in that sense.
Avatar f tn my daughter is very anxious so the dr put her on both the cymbalta 30 mg with the paxil of 20 for one week and then 15 paxel for another week and then 10 paxil and increase to 60 cymbalta. she had a brain trauma in a car accident and has to deal with alot so is this too much. she had a seizure on the ultram but she took too many at one time for a headache..
217229 tn?1192762404 OK - can anyone who has taken Lyrica and Cymbalta in conjunction with each other please give me your experiences --- and how long you've been taking them? I've been temporarily "diagnosed" with neuropathic pain issues (think Fibromyalgia). Waiting on some final test results to rule out any other Autoimmune Disease - but I believe I'll be finally diagnosed as Fibromyalgia. My Rheumatologist / Internist has prescribed Lyrica and Cymbalta together.
761423 tn?1237203290 I was also taking Lyrica and didn't like the side-effects. Neurontin, I enjoyed less. I had taken Cymbalta previously and noticed a difference in the pain level quickly. You may do well with this. I'm taking the Sertraline now, but do not notice any change in the level of pain with this med. The Cymbalta worked better for me there. I hope you find the right combo to help you and you are feeling better soon. Take care.
Avatar m tn Hi, Sorry you have all that you do; but you're not alone. I've taken Gab; awful side-effects. Lyrica, well, I was on that for quite some time, they kept upping the dosage, but it really did not help. I am currently on Cymbalta, 90mg; which I have to take in 2 pills (60 & 30) because they don't make a 90mg. Anyway, the Cymbalta doesn't really seem to help all that much either... Now, they said I should take Lyrica AND Cymbalta together.
Avatar m tn My question for all those out there is does the bloating and dizzy head ever stop? I take Lyrica and Cymbalta. The lyrica was added a week ago and It has helped the pain so much I don't want to stop it . My doctors said they can be taken together.
Avatar f tn I was on Lyrica for some time and gained TOO much weight...making me feel worse and ache more....I need something without that side effect....have been on Cymbalta too ....will savella take the place of both?
Avatar m tn m worried that the combination of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin can cause this. Is the combintation of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin safe? Thanks very much!
712802 tn?1274645485 Cymbalta has also had reports of causeing suicidal thoughts and on a molecular leval has a lot of simularities with lyrica so be catreful and stay in close contact with your doctor and us. I take lyrica 150Mg 3x per day and have never had that side effect but I keep a close watch. I also take an antidepresant called trazodone whitch is an older drug but one that is very easy to get along with. Best of luck and God bless.
479581 tn?1317757488 Does anyone know if this new drug can be taken with Lyrica. I did take Cymbalta with my 400 mgs. of lyrica...it wasn't for me made me blah...didn't go to #2 for 2 weeks, didn't care about anything...didn't laugh, didn't joke...just blah..took my spirit. So someone said its in the lines of Cymbalta....
572651 tn?1530999357 about the possibility of trying Lyrica and he actually agreed! He also added Cymbalta and the results are amazing!! My hubby was in horrible pain and within a few days he noticed that the pain was dissipating and he was able to move again! Now I had told my hubby that the Cymbalta is actually an antidepressant but it is working with the Lyrica to ease the pain and hubby of course had to ask the dr. why he had him on antidepressants. The dr.
373683 tn?1218997212 Has anyone taken or been taken this drug ? Does it help ? I am also taking 60MG of Cymbalta a day...... Any input would be nice.
1627868 tn?1333886342 I was wondering if anyone here has taken or currently is taking cymbalta and what their experience with it is. My doctor wants me to start taking this at a low dose, I believe it's 30mg once a day, to see if it would help with my pain. She said she can also add neurontin down the road if needed. I just don't know....
Avatar f tn Continue to taper and consult with your dr. I did take lyrica and stopped it c/t and i was fine. So you should be ok with that one. Tapering off any drug is a yucky process. There will be some discomfort. MAybe do one at a time??
Avatar n tn The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! Best wishes.
630344 tn?1280104983 Just a quick comment - I have fibro and am bipolar. The pdoc gave me Lyrica for mood swings and at 200mg a day about a week later I was no longer depressed ABD the burning pain in my legs and back were diminished quite a bit. I guess it works differently for everyone. I houp you find sonwthing that really works...hot baths really help me.
Avatar f tn It is really starting to drag me down and make me feel both tired out and no get up and go. My pain is in cotrol but my husband is also worried about the side effects. Is there something else I could take with the same effect on pain but that I could lose this weight. I also take cymbalta and celebrex. Please help.
Avatar n tn i have fibromialgia and arthritis and bone spurs in my neck and shingles should i be taking all this and will the tierdness ever go away?
Avatar n tn I use Cymbalta for abdomen, neck and hand pain and Fibromyalgia. It does a good job for me. There are some unpleasant side effects such as nausea and being light headed upon standing being the worst for me. I tried Neurontin and Lyrica. I couldn't take the side effects from either of those two. I've experienced life without Cymbalta. Without it my pains levels are considerably higher. My mood is much better on it.
1489588 tn?1303998295 When I take Savella and Pristiq together, it works wonders. When both my pain dr and my psychiatrist got together and said I couldn't take them together, I became very depressed after getting off of Savella. I didn't want to kill myself, but I sure didn't want to live. Lyrica put me to sleep in horrible ways, Cymbalta doesn't work for me and anything like Prozac or Lexapro or Zoloft is candy to me. I also take Norco.
Avatar f tn Also I have this dang ringing in my ears that does not want to go away. I questioned my doctor about taking remeron and cymbalta together and asured me that they work great together. I honestly don't know if I can stand this feeling. My husband wants me to hang in there. EKKKKKKKK. What to do?
