lyrica

Avatar f tn Hey guys, I was takin 40-50 pills of coricidin (the OTC cough med for people with high blood pressure), and cuz i couldnt get them one day I over dosed on xanax and ambien and lyrica. I take Lyrica for my fibromyalgia on a regular basis, was hospitalized and not detoxed medically was not given anything to help with the detox symptoms. Drank last night (10-30-10) 2 drinks and am a WRECK today (Halloween) going to a party tonight and taking my children trick or treating. I'm a mess.
Avatar n tn I been on this for 20 years after having 3 back lower back surg, i was taking 4 morphine and 5 percocet a day with lyrica 150 trazadone 100 and ambien 10 I stopped everything but my morphine for a while until my mom got sick and i had to take care of her and hurt my neck. so I started back taking the percocet but I told my dr i just wanted to take bthem twice a day.
Avatar n tn I don't believe Ambien is chemically addictive but I'm really not sure. It can absolutely be psychologically addictive. Do a google search for it and you'll be suprised at the info you find. I took Ambien as a teenager and it made me feel like I was tripping out on acid - never liked it.
Avatar n tn When it first happened, I was taking lots of medication that listed this as a side effect (lyrica, ambien and pain medication following back surgery). The surgery was two months ago and I've been off all medications for about three weeks. I had a terrible 'attack' of this double vision a few days ago, so bad that I couldn't drive. The double vision is horizontal and goes away when I cover either eye. It seems to come and go, but has been persistent the last couple of days.
478403 tn?1266546009 Hi, I take 75mg when needed for RLS and neuropothy, and it lays me out! I mean, a full on sleep. I was prescribed 75mg twice a day, but just couldnt take it and even come close to functioning. I keep it around now to help with W/D's and use it when i get spastic pain in my feet. It works great for that. Im sorry, but I dont get w/d from Lyrica and cant really help you with kinda dose. Im a big guy too, 6'2" and 220 pounds and that stuff layes me out!
478403 tn?1266546009 t want any more addictions than I already have. I take Lortab, Ambien CR and Lyrica which all are addictive substances. I would appreciate any help you can give me on this. TC and God bless you all.
4628837 tn?1364557915 ty for your comments. I drink water all day. That and some juice but 90% water. I have done alot of research and found a condition called Burning Mouth Syndrone. I have been to 3 oral surgeons, 1 medial dr, and a few other type dr's and they never heard of this. So dam frustating when a patient has to find out on their own what they might have. It can be anything to changing hormones to being on certain meds to absolutly nothing! grrrr.
Avatar n tn Ive been taking ambien for close to 3 years now off and on. 2-3 weeks every night then none for a month etc. Ambien is such a fickle fickle drug and affects people SO SO SO differently I would insist on you talking to a doc regarding this. For me it was a god send for my horrible sleep issues. I know that there can be some substantial risks quitting CT on ambien especially for someone who has taken it for soooooo long. Talk to a new doc!!!! You will find one eventually who will help you.
Avatar f tn I have nerve pain also, and Lyrica has been helping me for the past 8 months.
217229 tn?1192762404 It only makes you tired? Does it stop any of the pains associated with Fibro? Or any muscle aches/pains? Any other side effects?
Avatar f tn Sorry you are having such pain. I too get migraines daily. I am too weak to lift things and was hurting everyday. You need to get good sleep. Take a sleeping pill if you can. Try and get a script for Lyrica to help with the pain. It is really awful. I am on it now and it really helps. Doesn't work for everyone, but it's worth a try. I felt like you did and now feel much better. Good luck and keep posting, it helps to have others who understand.
Avatar f tn Since October I have tried Lortab (3 strengths), gabapentin, Lyrica, Ultram, Relafen, Zonegran, and Trileptal. I am also on Cymbalta and Ambien. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn t handle them either (I apparently am very sensitive to that type of med and they make me EXTREMELY hyper and actually increase my pain a LOT) I currently take hydrocodone for pain and ambien for sleep. A while back I was having trouble with the Ambien not working and my doctor tried me on trazodone, but once again, I reacted badly to it and rather than it helping me sleep, it made me hyper and I was not able to sleep for 2 1/2 days while taking it!
202665 tn?1248806733 Besides the medications I take for depression and BP (Cymbalta, lamictal, lithium), I've also been tking 50mg of Trazadone and 10mg of Ambien nightly for about 6 months. Sometimes it works...sometimes not. If I miss a certain window of time to take the night drugs...I'm wired instead of sleepy. I will stay up until 3-4a wandering around..eventually get a couple hours sleep, and still have high energy the next day...or couple days...until I crash.
630234 tn?1222279370 Ughhh, I feel like I am going out of my mind, last October I got into a really really really bad car accident, I have been on Lyrica, Norco, Oxycontin, Ativan, Xanax, Ambien, and also had Gastric Bypass surgery in september of 06' .... so besides all the supplemental vitamins and anxiety/depression from that... my doctors are cutting me from everything but my Ambien which I use to sleep.. I suffer from severe anxiety and have 5 pills of Norco left.
Avatar f tn Lunesta gave me the metalic taste as does Ambien. Also makes my gums inside my cheeks sore and jaw pain. Had to get off of both. Lyrica makes me sleep all night and half the morning so, Im not taking it anymore. Not a good drug for sleeping if that's what your looking for. Has addictive qualities.
483733 tn?1326798446 I had been in constant pain for 2 years, then I started on lyrica and OMG it was heaven sent, now it stopped working and Im in worse pain then before.
Avatar f tn 75 mg of Lyrica 3 x daily and 150.mg at night, Flexiril at night along with Ambien. While the medication seems to be helping with all the other disoders I still have problems going out into public. I have tried the slow method of starting off with 2-3 minutes and increasing as time goes by. That did not work. I am going to therapy, but that doesn't seem to be doing much good either. Sometimes it gets so bad that I can't even talk on the phone. I want my life back...
Avatar n tn I guess I don't agree with most on here. I've used Ambien and Ambien CR on and off for several years. I've gone as much as 10-15 days in a row, and as much as 30 days inbetween. Your body will get used to the Ambien, but it is not addictive. If you take it for a few days in a row, then you will have a night or two where it is more difficult to fall asleep.
Avatar f tn have your tried wsn nerve support formula it helps with the burning and tingling I have had sfn for the last three years it is very depressing I am on cymbalta and lyrica and ambien to sleep it gets horrible taking all of those medicines but it does help a little keeping busy and active also helps
Avatar f tn Your doctor would know best which meds might hurt your liver or not. The hepC on it's own can hurt your liver terribly so it is crucial that you take as good care of it now as you can. Is there any way you can do some examination to find out where you stand (ie: a biopsy (which isn't painful like it sounds), liver enzyme levels things like that? there is no such thing as 'dormant' hepC - you either have it or you don't have it.
279234 tn?1363105249 Just a comment about Lyrica-- It's odd the way your insurance works. A way around this might be to have your doctor prescribe Lyrica in one of the higher strengths, so you'd wind up taking fewer to get the same effect. My insurance is strange too. I have the best possible coverage for Avonex and practically everything else. Three months' worth costs me only $20. I know how lucky I am, believe me.
Avatar f tn I received my "official diagnosis" of fibro about 12 years ago, however, my doctors felt that I more than likely had it for many years prior to that based on medical history/symptoms, etc. Of course, back then, it was not as widely known about as it is now. I can quite honestly say that I have NEVER experienced a "remission".
Avatar f tn I was on percocet lyrica and cymbalta. Once the nerve damage got better I stopped the lyrica and cymbalta. After going back to work after surgery, I was afraid of taking percocet (im a teacher) so the dr gave me tramadol. 2 weeks ago I had steroidal injections in my pelvis and asked for something stronger because the tramadol wasnt working. I only take the vicodin at night, but it doesnt get rid of the pain.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
