Avatar f tn I was on Lyrica and gained about 40 pounds, also made my hands and feet swell. I have heard it works wonders for some just not me. Still trying to lose the weight and it has been about a year. I have never taken Suboxone so can't tell you about it..good luck. there are alot of wonderful people here that can help you more.

Avatar f tn What work for me is, 2 tylenol and 2 ibuprophen at the same time. I have a friend who has RA and aleve really works for her. Just be very careful with the tylenol that you don't overdose. A friend of mine ODed and was dead within 30 min. from liver failure (acedamenophen toxicity). Also be sure and take ibuprophen w/ food to keep from getting an ulcer. I know you know all of this, but sometimes desperate people do desperate things to get relief.
590653 tn?1218811706 i took fioricet for five years. i can tell you it was b/c of surgery, blah blah blah. but it all sounds like excuses. it started out w/ painkillers of some other type i can't even remember and then switched to fioricet b/c a neighbor had some and would sell them to ppl. then i discovered ordering off the internet. in rehab i shocked the britches off the girls b/c they'd never heard of buying that way.
Avatar f tn s effects were exactly like a mega-episode of my more recent and on-going MS symptoms that Lyrica and amitriptyline have been helping. If anyone else has experienced this, please let me know. Meanwhile life is dull here in this cast. Can't go or do much. So has anyone heard any good jokes?
7530804 tn?1398546771 I havent taken any medication while pregnant but woke up feeling like I had been run over. I googled a bit and decided to take an Aleve about a hour ago. I feel fine and my baby boy is moving like crazy, I just wanted to know if anyone else has taken Aleve while pregnant? Or have been told anything by their Dr? Thank you!
Avatar f tn Once I quit taking all the narcotic pain meds and all the withdrawl stuff was over, I was able to take over the counter meds to control my pain. I did also take Lyrica and it worked great for me. I applaud your efforts!!! You are doing the right thing.
Avatar n tn I ate 4 pills of Aleve, and had my period right now. Can I try to get pregnant in the following ovaluation period? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Very inspirational!! Well done, and I totally agree with you. Hot showers, Aleve and heating pad will do the trick! Who knew, right?
Avatar f tn You're very welcome. I'm glad Shinty and I could help. Gabapentin, Lyrica, and Cymbalta are all non-narcotic. I am glad you will be getting insurance soon!! That's wonderful news! In the meantime try OTC Aleve, stretching, and alternate heat/ice every 15 minutes if you get into a really bad flare.
1029507 tn?1287714315 I was on Neurontin and then Lyrica for nerve pain while undiagnosed. I've taken NSAIDs (both OTC and Rx) which at best take the edge off of my joint pain. I haven't had pain that is both bad and persistent enough to make me consider other options. While I've had periods of more intense pain, they have thankfully been relatively brief. My best (untrained lay-person!) advice is to be open with your doc about the type and severity of pain so that they can do their best to help.
Avatar n tn s negative, blood tests show no results) as well as orthopedic doctors, both prescribing different medications (Lyrica, Verrapamil, Aleve)to no avail. I have another appointment with my neurologist in 2 weeks, but in the past 4 years I have had not one sign of figuring out what is causing my problems. Is there anything the doctors may not be thinking of, anything else that I can do to figure out what is going on?
5549258 tn?1449083082 Im off of the oxys, today went off of the kratom and i have aleve, lyrica, imodium. and my t.v ;) Ive lost so much in life i do not want to loose my condo..
Avatar f tn There are alot of different options out there and you may find that once you are off of everything your pain may not be as bad as you think.I would suggest get the surgury soon so that the pain of the tear doesnt keep you from getting off the narcotics and after start detoxing off of the narcotics and start trying your hand at otcs. With the RA do they have you on anti inflammatories? I would definately try aleve for that.
719785 tn?1232901518 I don't even know where to start. I am so tired of hurting and being tired. I am on Lyrica for FMS. I don't think it is helping. I am still hurting basically all over, but mainly in my hips, wrist, back and knees. The Lyrica has made me gain some weight (I deffinately don't need this) I feel swollen and achy all over since being on the Lyrica. I'm kind of rambling and I do appologize. My concentration level is very low. I am stressed and have found that stress tiggers my FMS.
Avatar m tn This was an excellent choice, as it helps with my anxiety, I use less clonazepam and I feel less drowsy. Lyrica did give me blurred vision and extra paranoia at the start, and that was indeed awful for the first couple weeks as I upped my dosage! After the initial troubles, I found that it really was better than gabapentin for me now. I have not gained weight, but remain the same weight I call my meds weight. I just try to remain active and not pig out.
Avatar m tn Gabapentin) or Lyrica (generic: NA) and Cymbalta (generic: NA) are good medications to try to help with this pain. Opioid medications may still be helpful to you but their effectiveness on nerve pain is limited; however, they may provide some additional meaningful relief due to synergistic effects. A muscle relaxer and anti-inflammatory are helpful too.
Avatar n tn Deb, ask your doctor about Lyrica. I did and feel so much better. I was very skeptical about this medication at first. However, I said to my doctor, if we are gonna put me on this, we need to take away medications. Also I made mention about needing a longer acting muscle relaxer. So he put me on Lyrica and Armix longer acting muscle relaxer. We took away, Cymbalta,Tizanidine, Celebrex.
Avatar f tn Tylenol that has no aspirin
4939681 tn?1361299299 I've tried aleve, Advil, and Tramadol. Aleve and Advil were not strong enough. Tramadol gives me a "drunken" stupor feeling for a full 24 hours (even just 1/2 a dose). Oxycodone gives me horrible nausea (have to sit in fetal position for a couple of hours til it passes). Most recently my intern prescribed me low dose morphine ER. I also gave me horrible nausea and I was so weak that I had to lie still most of the day.
712802 tn?1274645485 Cymbalta has also had reports of causeing suicidal thoughts and on a molecular leval has a lot of simularities with lyrica so be catreful and stay in close contact with your doctor and us. I take lyrica 150Mg 3x per day and have never had that side effect but I keep a close watch. I also take an antidepresant called trazodone whitch is an older drug but one that is very easy to get along with. Best of luck and God bless.
Avatar m tn My Dr was going to prescribe me lyrica for shingles pain but I was hesitant and refused at the time. I did some research on it when I got home and actually found that lyrica is approved in eroupe for anxiety. I also read reviews of people taking it for other things and found that it helped with their anxiety. Glad to know it is working for you. What dosage are you on?Where your prescribed the lyrcia for anxiety or something else? Hope it continues to help you.
Avatar f tn The numbness is almost constant in both feet and my right arm and hand. The pain in my neck and shoulders (cape area) is horrible and I have to take narcotics daily, and am still in pain. The pressure in my head is much worse, and is now in the front and top of my head. And my eyes are very painful...I can't really look to the side, up, or down without a lot of pain and discomfort. Only straight ahead.
394774 tn?1235070839 You can get addicted to lyrica, it is a controlled substance. but if they work for you and take away the pain and you know you are gonna have to take them the rest of your life, who care.
947710 tn?1245862006 Please help: I have had eye pain in my left eye for the past three years. Every time I saw my eye doctor I was told it was just from over wear of my contact lenses, but I hadn' worn my lenses in awhile just to see. Then in August of last year (2008) I couldn't wear my contacts and my eyeball, yes, my eyeball, started hurting with or without lenses and I have severe pain if I put my lense in. I have been checked for sinus issues...none, I have been checked for MS...
Avatar n tn I am in the same position with my husband. He is taking Lyrica and we would like to try having our first child. I know this was two years ago, but did your husband end up going off the Lyrica before you conceived?
